You are going broke on this hand no matter what.

I set this trap deep. Players like to believe a SB raise is always a big pair. You played the flop as though you are taking one stab with QQ or KK to see if an ace is out there. His call says, yes I have the ace, please bet again. If you c/r the turn, your opponent is now going to realize his ace is in trouble against AK or maybe JJ and would be more willing to release a weaker A. By c/r, you showed extreme strength. He might still get it all in...especially if he has AQ or A10...but with A5 he is now skeptical. I think you just bet here, but make a weak looking bet, one that looks lik

$10 9 Person Sng On Stars, What Do You Think?
Teavis replied to ChrisRichey's topic in Tournament Play
This seems like a pretty standard hand, although I'm guessing you wouldn't be posting it if you won the hand. Unless these $10 players are smart enough to disguise hands like AQ and AK with limps, then in this position I have no problem thinking my A9 is most likely good. However, because doubling up here could really hurt one of the other players, I don't see them taking a huge gamble here to bust you unless they have you beat, or have some sort of strong read that you are completely bluffing given your table image. So in other words, the times you are called, you are usually beat. Yeah y -

If hackers were smart they would attack Firepay. Their only system of support is a couple automated email responses and a phone number that doesn't exist. Somehow Firepay linked my account to a friends because we had transferred money or something (cant' remember the exact circumstances) and closed the account with the money in it. I sent them dozens of emails, and got the same automated response each time. DO NOT USE FIREPAY.

What Do The Following Players Have In Common?

I haven't watched MNF yet...well I did watch the Bengals/Packers game a bit but I was in a live MTT and the sound was off. Are the regular announcers the same ones that did the ESPN Sunday night games? Because who ever did the play by play for those games is by far the best play by play guy of any network (if Jim Nantz did NFL play by play, he would win, I'd go gay for his voice). He just has the voice for football, if that makes any sense. I suppose I'll see a MNF game eventually, but I was just wondering.

Living near Green Bay and being a fan all my life, I loved his article, as well as his much warranted rips on Wisconsin culture and Packer fans. We are an alcoholic, well-fed, yet passionate bunch. I've never been to Fenway Park, Boston Garden, Yankee Stadium, other famous stadiums, but I can't imagine there is an experience in sports greater than walking out into the stands at Lambeau Field when it is bright, sunny, 10 degrees, with the frost on the field and the buzz of the crowd. It's unreal. Every football fan, whether they hate or love the Packers, should experience it at least once.

While playing at a B&M me and another regular were having fun crushing the weekend crowd. Someone left the table and he looked at the list, which isn't that far away, and whispered to me "next up, Teavis". I looked and the name was Travis. So the rest of the night I made fun of not only his eyesight, but the fact that he would believe there is anyone in this world named Teavis. Teavis eventually became a mythological player, one who had supposedly gone to Vegas and won $95,000 at 3/6. The floor had to push another table directly behind Teavis to accomodate his 95,000 $1 chips, as he r

Sklansky is scolding us, but all that's coming out are expectation equations!

What's worse? The dirty guy, or the guy who always tries to make a profit off his friends?

I fold. After your fold you still have about 10 BBs, and if you find a better hand and double up off one of the 40-50k stacks you are back to around the average. At best you are a coin flip in this situation.KJ sure has been causing a lot of headaches lately....read my thread about KJ in a live tourney last night. Slightly different situation though.

Ultra tight HU players give me nightmares. Sure you can raise their blinds 10 times in a row...but then they snap a couple back on you and you are right back to where you started. This is where I like to bet the minimum. I know it sounds like bad strategy, but these players are likely to fold to any bet if they don't have a hand. Why risk 800 when you only need to risk, say, 400 for a fold. If they snap back, fold. Pray for a situation where you both get dealt good hands, but yours is slightly better.
