  1. Oops srry. Zach and I were ignoring each other. Must have missed it
  2. srry, wouldn't know. just took that "block" thing off your posts
  3. heres another scenario: what if the pre-flop raiser is directly to your left and theres a good chance he'll bet any flop. Nobody has said anything about the position of the raiser pre-flop which affects the flop play.
  4. you bring up a good point. I think u are referring to goals here. This is up to each individual. (and my get-rich-quick-schemes have yet to work for me)
  5. In my experience, the bigger the pot gets the tougher it is to eliminate or thin the field. So even though u may attempt to thin the field by check raising, the pot size may make the field call with any pair or over cards. So, although check raising is meant to thin the field, this is not always the result. And if they cold call 2 bets, the pot is built even more for the nut flush draw and aces up hand.
  6. I'm nobody..... You're wrong about the capable part. The critical thinking I see here is better than most 10-20 limit players. So, perhaps without knowing it fully, ur guys' thinking is well advanced and way above most micro limit players. This being the case, it is difficult to read and predict micro limit players that don't possess your critical skills.
  7. I'll tell u why it matters. Put the raise in as soon as you can and put him all in because you never know when u might get disconnected. This may sound silly, but over the past 6 years I have lost mucho money because of disconnects and power outages. Actually, only the past 4 years or so since disconnects have been totally disallowed by online sites. As far as the hand goes, u guys are thinking like the game is 10-20 or 20-40 limit holdem. It is hard to translate this game to the micro style of internet play. So based on this, and because he was deep in the hand, calling him to the end is
  8. I'd prefer to make something up. This causes buzz and people like Zachary will zoom in and correct it. Thus the guy's topic gets answered quicker........
  9. I like this analysis. If you raise on the turn, push all in. Maximize this hand. If I'm not mistaken, you only had a few bucks left after your raise on the turn.
  10. If u merely had a nut flush draw, I would agree. But since you have top pair/top kicker, eliminating some of the field wouldn't necessarily be a negative. Especially since the top pair is a pair of 8s.
  11. the play was fine, leading out on flop is good because u don't want to risk trying to check raise and let an overcard peel off to beat ya.I would definitely check/call the river though. A check could induce a bluff from your opponent and you can't stand a raise on the river with your hand. With this in mind, a value bet on the river isn't worth it.
  12. the point is he needs to play the limit that allows him to move up. Killing a .02 limit game for weeks won't allow him to move up in limits. Unless he wants to grind his years away, put the $50 limited bankroll towards a limit that has potential to grow quickly.
  13. short stack play can frustate many good players who have big stacks. A different strategy needs to be used in order for the short stack to be successful. But there are advantages of playing with a short stack, despite the majority theory that big stacks and max buy-ins are the only way to go. oooooooooooohhhhhhhh
  14. Most home game I ever played in took rake. You talkin about penny/nickel games on the kitchen table?
  15. sorry, didnt know u guys were bed buddies
  16. with pundits like u, how could i possibly mess it up?
  17. You seem to have the questions and answer them yourself. I thought donks were supposed to have no clue.
  18. And by the way, if you do check raise the flop say to 1,800 he probably folds unless he has hand. But what if he calls? You have two options now on the turn: Move in with a total bluff or check the hand down. Moving in is bold, but if you put him on a weak hand is a good play. Checking down is ok to because you still have 6,000 or chips left and this is prob not be the spot where u want to risk your tournament life. (And after the hand, you may find out what type of player ur opponent is but it will be too late).
  19. Since you are probably a tricky player and watch all the tricky moves on TV, I suggest this: Check raise him on the flop about 3 or 4 times his bet. You don't want him catching his card on the turn to beat you. This becomes a better play when the blinds are a bit higher and there is more in the pot at the time. Waiting to steal it on the turn and river may allow him to catch his card.

  21. Definitely reserve a table and do it up right. Otherwise, face long lines and no place to hang out once in. Barbary Coast has cool after hours club that is not too crowded compared to the other popular clubs.
  22. Sounds like a SCAMMER. SCAMMER rhymes with?
  23. im not sure how u come up with 300-1. It seems to me each tourney is an individual event. In any case, if ur up 6,000 bucks playing these things, IM puzzled as to how u can complain.
  24. ok, if not no big deal.
