He probably just didn't notice he had a flush.. he was thinking ok I have Ace high lets check and see if it is good.

1st part, you didn't give us enough information about the hand. Having a single A in the hole and two AA out on the board is strong but not as strong as you seem to be implying. Anyways, you didn't tell us what the turn and rivers cards were as he may not have been slow playing but playing cautiously.2nd, calling A10 from early position against a raise and two players, is BAD. You have aweful position with a marginal hand. KQQ drops and you call a bet?! A very dangerous flop to say the least. Now just because you have the royal flush draw, you think that is an all in situation? If you are cle

real men of genius: mr. bad beat story teller guy
auspex replied to auspex's topic in General Poker Forum
Heh thanks guys, my favorite part is(Mother F*cker turned a King!) -
Look at it this way, If you are getting outdrawn, you are putting your money in the hand, with the best cards. From there it is luck. Keep doing what you are doing. If you are getting out drawn, the lucky cycle is just not in your direction.

Bud Light presents Real Men of Genius. (Real Men of gen-ius!) Today we salute you, Mr. Bad Beat Story Teller Guy(Mr. Bad Beat Story Teller Guy!)When other players just take their beats, and move on the next hand, its you who has to tell us every detail of that top pair that got outdrawn.(The mother f*cker turned a King!)You are always the first one to say, why were you in that hand? You know that you were way behind a*shole...(Doesn't know when to shut up!)You're the one who can't stand it when your trips loses to a flush, and you're always the first to say there is no way this would happen in

Amazing, did you forget the fact that PP didn't re-raise preflop? why would he call a preflop raise with KK or QQ... that doesn't makes sense, jen could pretty much rule out those hands. She had to assume overcards, or smaller pocket pair, in which case trips becomes a huge issue... it seems most of you are ignoring the chip stacks and the place they were in the tournament...

<quote>It makes me laugh to see some people here and elsewhere acting like her fold was anywhere from easy to slightly difficult. If you don't think that fold is extremely difficult then I'm sorry to be the one to tell you, but you likely suck at NLH tournaments. If that fold is "easy" for you then you are the sort of person who will be robbed blind, deaf, and dumb. In actuality most poker players (including those who claim from a safe distance that this is an easy fold) would call so quickly they'd need medical treatment for the felt burns. </quote>This actually is pretty funny. Well, most people maybe, but you see this over and over at the higher levels, in a tournament, with a large stack, up against another large stack. A preflop call only of a raise (maybe pocket pair or two over cards).Raise, re-raise, all -in.... as a small stack you would have to call with no question. Having a very sizable stack and risk going broke to what very well could be trips. I'm sure everyone here would go broke who had a small stack. Large stacks, may have laid this down as well.Just a thought.

how to beat a player that raises pre-flop consistent
auspex replied to Jnelson12's topic in General Poker Forum
Here are three tips that should help.1) you can trap him with a good hand.2) Realize that his starting requirements are really low. Which turns hands like JT os in to raising hands preflop. He will raise you with all kinds of cards... 67s , JTs, JQ, even AQ. The trick is to not get caught when he's holding a monster. You can generally flush out his bad hands by check raising or re-raising on the flop. Most aggressive players preflop aren't as aggressive when called preflop and raised on the flop. (note: this works especially well after folding a few hands in a row)3) Always raise when you are -

Although it is generally not good practice to disagree with smasharoo, I do disagree.. The fundemental therom of poker helped me start thinking about poker differently and helped me learn to play a lot better even when I was playing limits as low as 4/8 .. I suggest reading it and not putting it in to practice.. but learning and using the knowledge to think about how you play when away from the table.just quit now. you misread his post. again, i warn you. quit now.I did not misread his post. I am saying that he said to only worry about game theory when you start playing 30/60 .. I think that

Well I know him from some world of warcraft movies..A whole bunch of people (like 30) would congrate to work together.. and just as the plan was about to start.. one guy would yell LEROY JENKINS and run in and start ****ing up the plan, then steal the good items..lol its pretty funny.

Well actually the Theory of Poker would be a good start..The basic theory of poker is this... If an opponent could see your cards, there would be an optimal way to play his hand at each stage of the game, bet, raise, call or fold. For each mistake he makes against your hand you profit. For each mistake you make against his hand he profits. For example:If you have 10 10 preflopand he has AQ preflopThe correct move for him would be to fold (since he is not the favorite)If he calls preflop, or even raises, technically he is making a mistake, and you profit. If he folds he has made the correct play an

So I was playing aNL cash game this guy comes in sits down with $100, goes all in before the flop with 34os, and yells LEeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeerooooyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy Jeeeeeeeeeeeennnnnnnnnnnnnnnnkkkkkkkiiiiiiinnnsss.....of course hit his two pair :)I couldn't stop busting up...For those of you that don't get it, its pretty funny....

Actually playing no limit against novice players is very easy..you have to trap them... Just sit back wait for a hand... check on the flop raise them on the turn with monster hands and take all their chips..No limit is a very different monster than limit.. in limit you try to chip away NL you just try to trap for all their chips..check out my other postings.. I have provided a lot of information on playing in no limit games

OK to answer your first questionBluffing comes in many forms:a) The aggressive player that bluffs a lot because people will fold to larger bets with marginal hands. This tends to work better in games with a lot of fish considering that most of them stay in way to long with marginal hands. This allows players to bet big on the river representing and A, K or monster hand when the fish are holding middle pair. (more explaination in B)B) When a draw is missed but a scare card drops on the river. For instance: lets say you have two diamonds to a J high flop. No diamonds hit but the river is and A

So I'm moving away, to another city, 100 miles from where I live now. I am the best poker player out of everyone I play with, and make decent money at the local casino's 10/20 game. We usually play $200 freeze outs with 5-6 people. Anyways, as a parting gift to all my poker friends, I told them each what they do wrong, and the tells / patterns I use when playing against them. For instance one guy always glances in the opponents eyes when he has it, one always bets the low ball flops or $75 on AQos pre-flop, while another "checks out early" when he doesn't hit the flop and so on... Do you

As your play improves so does your confidence. As confidence improves, so do your poker muscles. As poker muscles increase, you believe that you can do anything with any cards, and so you do.As you do this, you play marginal hands, make marginal calls until you have given away a lot of money. Its only after you go broke that you say... wtf was I thinking, thats not how I played before.

They say computers are not truley random because given a random number seed, two computers would generate the same sequence of numbers given this seed. However, computers generally just take the seed off the computer's internal clock which in itself is kind of random.

This post is about two hands,The first,I have 10 J Two players (including me) Flop comes downK 8 3 We both check, as there were no preflop raises, turn is10 I bet out $20, and my opponent raises me $60, I take note of this and show him my 10 --Later in the game against the same opponent a very similiar hand came down, flush draw on the flop, with no face cards, we both check, and I bet the turn, $20, he raises me again $60. At this point I think back to DN's blog entry, about the two pair and when he folded and showed the two pairs. I figured he would remember making me fold a mi

Pot odds do not warrant a call for two bets.

I guess you could classify me as a loose aggressive player. I used to be a tight aggressive until I saw myself get CLOBBERED by this type of player. The thing is loose aggressive players raise almost any legitimate hand QTs and the like. What this does is give him post flop dominance, unless you flop a huge hand, in which case you bet and give away the information we look for. Loose aggressive players generally look for weakness and avoid strength. Its how we make our money. The problem is after a while you get frustrated by seeing us take down a pot with middle pairs, so you in turn loosen
