  1. What's with all these jerks that sit for one Heads Up hand and leave if they win?
  2. After a week playing on FCP, I'd like to offer my feedback to the administrator and Daniel for their review and consideration. The good:1) Support- The online chat and phone support are great! I've used them 4 times and each time the staff are pleasant and helpful. 2) Navigation - Found it quite easy to navigate around and set up private tables3) Playing- I've played HE only thus far. Speed is excellent. Graphics are decent. Also enjoy the shortcut keys! Great feature but you need to build shortcut keys for "Cancel or OK" when you're mucking cards.4) Stats- I enjoy the stats being offe
  3. Will you still Check Raise your mother on Mother's Day?
  4. No matter what each site says, there is no such software to catch people in collusion. You would figure that they can track and find suspicion when 2 - 3 players seem to always be sitting on the same table, especially in the mini-tounaments.Especially in 1-table tournaments, by using a simple chat program or your standard phone line, it's easy to coach your partner into "dumping" chips to you if they're loaded and your short stacked or vice versa. In addition, knowing your partner(s) hole cards is valuable information to calculate your drawing outs.I realize this is not new to most people an
  5. One of my favourite cocktails is a Caesar. It's a bloody mary but instead of tomato juice, it's made with Clamato juice. (Clamato = 1/2 Clam juice, 1/2 tomato juice)It's very very popular here in Canada and to my knowledge available in some parts in the states (Florida and Buffalo due to it's high volume of Canadian tourists). If you've never tried it, I highly suggest giving it a sample. Daniel - Is this something you look forward to when you return to Toronto?
  6. I play mostly heads up limit hold 'em on Paradise Poker, from 3-6 to 10-20. I've been playing for the past 3 years or so and have done fairly well. Maybe it's me who's losing patience with these jerks, but why are people such idiots when they play? When they win, they trash talk you and try to get under your skin to put you on tilt. Can't they be a gracious winners? When they lose, they're calling you every name in the book. Why is it that when I chase and hit, they're insulting your play. When they hit, it's righteous.Sure, I can turn chat off but I enjoy the occasional "Nh" and "Ty"
  7. I'm don't think the online tourny is what we're going for. The reason for this thread is to get out there live and do this in person, share a few laughs with those on this board. It sounds like we're getting close to getting this off the ground.I look forward to the details. My e-mail address is ma_ga_hi@hotmail.com.
  8. Yes, the Canadian / Ontario legal system. I'm well aware of these challenges. As such, that's why I did NOT offer my place or my friend's restaurant to host. Another reason why I threw out suggestions in case someone reading this has some ideas of a "donation" system.
  9. Well, I like rebuys for a few reasons:1- If you get a bad beat and go all in during the early stages, then you have a chance to stick around2- Having deep pockets is not a benefit with this system. I recommend the blinds go up every 15 mins during the first hour (when the rebuys are allowed) so for the loose players who use the "all-in" as their only strategy, then getting another 1000 chips for $25 is still at a disadvantage as the blinds will be bumped up rather quickly. And you'll be building the pot for the winners.3- Value. I read people may be driving in from all around the GTA. Noth
  10. I'm glad to read people are not interested in the bad beat and the carry over purse idea. I'm not a fan of those as well. However, I do propose a bounty option. To encourage knocking others out of the tournament, place a bounty on everyone's heads until we get to the people in the money. Each bounty is $5.
  11. In my spare time, I've hosted several tournaments in the past. The structure was a $50 buy-in for 2000 chips, with unlimited rebuys ($25 for 1000 chips) in the first hour as long as you have 2000 chips or lower. You can't rebuy when you have more than 2000.To give you an idea, I last hosted one in December with 48 players. I cap it at 50 due to space limitations. I paid the top 7 finishers, with the winner pocketing $2420. No money is put aside for bad beats or for a future "tournament of champions" game. I've developed a set of rules and procedures which I can share with you on e-mail.

  13. I used to have the 11.5 g chips. Had 1000 of them. I quickly became very annoyed and disappointed in them for 2 reasons:1- They don't stack nicely. For some reasons, the chips didn't sit flat ontop each other. As a result, you can't use a base of 25 chips to count out other stacks of 25.2- They're too slippery. This is the most frustrating part as your towers were easy targets of tipping over. I sold the cases and recently bought the 13.5 g chips. Bought them on ebay (don't recall the seller) and these chips are a world of difference.
  14. I bought 4 packs of cards from the following site: http://www.kardwell.com/I already had tonnes of Kems and wanted to see others are. My only interest was in 100% plastic cards. Here is my rating:A+ - CCompass - CDal Negro - AFive Star - B+I also bought Copags from a different site and they're good as well. I would rate Kems similar to Five Star and the clear winner are the Dal Negros. Not only do the Dal Negros sturdier, heavier and have a better "feel", their designs are not as cheesy as Kems (IMO).
