I'm sitting with about $140 at a really loose 1 2 NL table. Brain damaged hippie child is to my right and makes it $10 to go. Folds round to me on the button with 8d8c - decide to call.Blinds fold and we're heads up. Flop comes J 9 7 with two diamonds. Checked to me and I fire in a 3/4 pot bet. Flower child calls.Turn is the 6 of diamonds. Check again and this time I check having no clue what Tiny Tim has - and I'm fairly confident he has no clue either. The river is the deuce of diamonds. Dopey hems and haws then asks me what I have left. I tell him around $115 and he counts it out and pushes

Hey FCPI have just found myself in SF and have missed my flight. Long story short I have from 7pm tonight until 5 am tomorrow to spend any way I please.Does anyone know of a casino offering a tournament that would fit this schedule? I checked out Bay 101, Garden City and Artichoke Joes with no luck thus far.

Thanks. I am curious about the 'cards talk' rule. If the cards talk and they are face up does it make any difference if I muck them? Do I need to announce that I have won the hand or is the simple fact of the cards showing enough to take the pot?

So it's 3am, the club is closed to the public and the cigarettes are out in full force on the table. As the only non smoker I'm getting queezy from the haze covering the table.I find AQo in the big blind. Folded around to the small blind, shortstacked with about $50. He calls, I raise to $25 - he calls. Flop is A J 10. He pushes in his last $25 and I call. We flip up our cards and the SB shows AK to my AQ. I mentally lose the hand and am only mildly interested as the turn comes a brick and the river brings a K. The SB announces "two pair" and starts to rake the pot. I am pushing my cards towar

Your 2006 - How Was This Year For You?
silicon replied to Flushgarden's topic in General Poker Forum
Made an effort to actually learn how to play. As a borderline OCD case that involved reading every single poker title on the shelves of my local mega bookstore/coffee shop/cougar pickup joint. (Best read HOH 1/2 - worst read Killer Poker series - most surprising read - Antonio E's book - most fun to read the TJ Cloutier series).Armed with my new found knowledge I proceeded to break even online this year mostly due to a long losing streak on Stars to end the year. Live fared a little better - up $900 and change from 3 trips to Vegas after paying for the flights and hotels. Up $6305 in my home g -
Anyone Else Having Trouble Opening Tables On Ultimate Bet?
silicon replied to silicon's topic in General Poker Forum
I'm giving up on them and withdrawing my $$'s.Seems empty most of the time and I can't handle looking at Phil everytime I open the client. -
Didn't know you needed that - all it's asking me for is the email address of my referrer.MY SN is Silicon99 on AP

Well that doesn't help much . . .I'm a busy man - going, going ....

Don't know what their referral program pays but I'm just about to deposit there for the first time. Who wants it?

I've fiddled with the settings for a few hours. It only shows the tourneys I lose in. The ones I win show up as an *? in the tourney stat window.

The very short in the topic title refers to the amount of time in Vegas - this report may run on a bit.On a trip home Wednesday I realized I was faced with an overnight layover in Chicago. Rather than spend a few lonely hours in O'Hare I rerouted myself and squeezed in a 6 hour stop in Vegas. Hopping a cab from McCarran (which has the longest yet most efficient cab line I have ever seen - everytime I go to Vegas I marvel at the speed you get a cab. At first glance there are hundreds of people waiting but the cab directors shuttle people off with speed and precision.)Checking my bag in at the b

I am slumming on the west coast this week but am planning to go back east on Wednesday or Thursday. I was looking at flight schedules and noticed I can get a pretty good connection to Philadelphia from San Jose that routes through Vegas. It has an 8 hour layover in Vegas.Rather than cab it from hotel to hotel looking for an open game I was hoping there was a service that would allow you to put your name down for a game ahead of time - anybody know of one?Failing that what is my best bet for an open 2-5NL game?

I know it's early but things aren't looking so good for the boys in blue.On a different note is the FCP Survivor pool going to be starting soon?

I've been to every series ending Sens playoff game. Yet to go home happy though.

And God went to my boss and said I have Ten Commandments. And my boss asked for an example. So God replied, "Remember the Sabbath day and rest from work."And my boss said, "I'm really not interested"

I must admit there are a few people in the game who can't let go of a flush or OESD to save their lives. The swings used to be sick back when I first starting playing. I'd like to think now that my post flop play has improved to the point where I am able to lay down hands in marginal situations. Thanks for the advice .

Ahh. The other wrinkle in the game.Starting stack is $60. ($480 on the table - $60x8). Rebuys are very common so by the middle of the evening there is usually about $2500 in play. I try and arrive right at the beginning in order not to be shortstacked.

It's not my game of choice but since I don't live in Vegas my options are rather limited for live play. That, coupled with the fact that there is no rake (the club makes it's money off of booze and food) and the general loose play does make it a profitable game. I also find that my post flop play has improved dramatically since you regularly find yourself in the situation where people are playing any two cards. Good thought. I am probably going to make more money when an A hits the board too.

Hey All,I play live in a club with some weird rules. I have been beating the game for $30/hr over the last year but was recently thinking that I could improve this if I could figure out the correct play a little better. In essence it is an 8 handed game that allows 3 bets of up to $10 preflop (with $1/2 blinds), followed by unlimited and uncapped bets post flop. The guys who run the game put in the pre flop limit to encourage action as they are really there to play and see a lot of flops. The other funky rule is you only have to reraise the amount of the big blind regardless of the size of the r

Is There Going To Be Another Hockey Pool Contest This Year?

The title says it all. -
Little Matt blew by me on the go kart track - the extra 100 pounds I'm carrying over him probably had something to do with that. He also busted me slow playing a straight in the poker tournament at Daniel's place on his way to a second place finish. The kid is hard to read Congrats on making it to ESPN - probably the only one in your school to do that.I don't know if our paths will cross again in the future but rest assured you and your dad left my wife and I with a very positive impression. Approaching life with a glass half full attitude and making the most of every moment is the way to go

HI All,I've played at Bay101 and at Artichoke Joes. Both decent places tho Joes is much smaller. One problem - they only had limit games and I play mainly NL. Anyone know of a NL game in the Bay Area. I'm going to be there the week of Sept. 5 and was planning on putting in a session on the evening of the 8th.
