Is it a bad idea to 4 table 25 NL with $300?
-
But seriously, what should he do?
-
what did he lose most of his money? I thought he said he was going to invest alot of it or something. His BR mananagement didn't seem too horrible in the beginning, but it just seemed that he was killing every game that he was sitting in, and had good composure and a plan as to what he wanted to do after he hit the +200k mark.
-
Man, that Roberts is a machine. Why he isn't playing online anymore and instead playing 2/5 NL is beyond me.
-
yes, but he said that he wanted to check to give his opponent a chance to bluff at this pot. By checking behind on that board he's just giving his opponent too many free cards to catch a draw.
-
Yeah, she has always hated gambling, but i've convinced her over the years to accept poker because i can make a little money off it (not much considering its low stakes), so we've compromised on a set amount of playing time, but in all honesty that just doesn't fly most of the time.I guess the main issue for me is, if I'm addicted to poker And/or if am thinking/playing too much of it, then i guess i should permanently cut myself off from it to right the ship (which also means i shouldnt be reading this thread), which is so hard to do.

I would only consider checking the flop if I'm OOP. The board is too draw heavy to give your opponent a free card. Secondly, you're not deep at all on this hand, and given your read that he's an aggressive, bluff worthy opponent, i would bet/call raise or shove and just get the money in here. Don't give your opponent the pot odds to catch their hands so make your raises larger. Your opponent might have you beat with a set of jacks, or AJ, or AK, but oh well.

So, i stopped playing live 1-2 aboot two months ago, due to finally realizing that i was playing out of my roll.A week later, i banned myself from Pokerstars for two months to take a break, think about things, and possibly quit poker all together. I told my wife that i would quit playing because i don't really gain anything from playing the small stakes that i do, and i think about poker too much considering the small amount that im playing for. IN the meantime, i did good for a couple of weeks, didn't think about poker at all. Then i came back to FCP, and this is the only thread i read now

Take a break.Drop down a level or two if needed to regain confidenceGo over some recent HHs to look for any leaks. You'll start winning again.

Matt, you must have like the worst BR management ever. Never seen someone play 400 NL and 50 NL so frequently at the same time. And most of the hands you post seem to be either worthless in terms of learning something, or just sick coolers.

Unfortunately i don't have that much money to wager on a sports bet.I just go by what the lessons of history have taught us over the years, and that is:NL Central Titles this decadeCardinals- 6Cubs- 1In all seriousness though, THIS should be the year the Cubs win the World Series.
-
He will start tonight. He hasn't pitched too bad actually. I think alot of people based their predictions that the Cardinals would suck this year because Carpenter and Mulder were injured, as well as Rolen and Edmonds departing. But we're getting just as much offense from Glaus and Ankiel, and Mulder and Carpenter will be back by the middle of the summer to begin teh obligatory dismantling and crushing dreams phase towards the Cubs that seems to be an annual trend now.
-
Cardinals will win the Central again, IMHO

I don't think its a dumb question at all. Given all of her fraudualant history, this possibly (very small chance) could be something concocted that her family is going along with to avoid the felony theft charges she has. I realize its not very likely but possible.
-
I think the people that are sympathizing for a person like Brandi, or the ones that wish her more harm now even after she's dead, are the ones that have the problem, IMHO. I don't see why people who don't care about what eventually happened, to her given the lifestyle she led, are thought to be dickheads and insensative people. Am i supposed to sympathize for every bad person in this world who kills themself?

Thanks Jordan. I just remember reading his blog entries, and that dude went from depositing $1000 into Full tilt and turned that into over 200 grand, moving up pretty quickly sbrugby style. But that was like 4 months ago. I've seen hand histories he's posted and he's a sick player. I guess he might have been getting tired of people hitting and running against him as he seemed to be pretty tilted from that.
-
Exactly. Like most things in her life, she took the easy route as a solution. I feel bad for her family because they have to go through this. I don't understand how everyone else would feel sorry for Brandi herself because she took her own life. She was a bad person who made a bad decision.
-
Uh, thats not the point. The bottom line is that they tried to help her and she repaid them by stealing from them and treating her "friends" like total $hit, and during the same time not accepting any personal responisibilty or help that was offered to her. I hope nobody defends me either if I turn out someday to be a lying, stealing, ******* who treated every friend i had like shit and never sought treatment for an obvious mental illness i had. I wouldn't expect anybody to feel sorry for me because i would know that I am the only person truly accountable for my actions. If i am like this,

hey, does anyone know whats going on with Roberts2003?He made his blog private now, ever since he started playing 10/20NLFrom what i understand, he's probably the highest stakes cash game player that used to visit our site (besides DN of course)Anyone?
-
If she had this illness (which no one for sure even knows) did she ever seek treatment for it?
-
QFMFTIf i'm going to have sympathy for anyone in this situation, it is for Brandi's family, not Brandi herself. As the poster stated above, this woman blatantly stole from people, and even after this, there were some in the poker community who were willing to give her a second chance. What does she do to return the favor? She steals and robs them blind too. What a classy lady she was. Brandi Hawbaker was responsible for her actions. She decided that the only action she could take was to commit suicide, which again was not a responsible decision. She made her decision.Of course, my opin

I laughed out loud.

I might have been looking at older posts, i'm not sure. hey, thats great if you feel that you are plugging up some leaks. It definitely wasn't the KK vs. AA post that i was referring to. You seem like a good person who is trying to make his best effort to succeed. When i read your posts i can't help but root for you and hope that things turn around. Good luck
-
Bull, take this FWIW, but i think that after seeing alot of your posts, you are probably getting away from playing ABC poker at your levels and incorporating too many fancy plays into your arsenal. Just sit back and let the money come to you. (edit: this is just for micro stakes, you've also mentioned you wanted to build something up too.) JMHO. I wish you success man.

snamuh, why are you moving all of your money off of Cake?
