  1. Is this $1-$2 nl? With 8 ppl seeing the flop betting out is OK but what do you do if you are raised?Questions? Would 88-QQ limp pre-flop and check that flop? With 8 limpers and $1-$2 you almost have to limp call with those hands to get a good pot going making it more likely you are beat. If I had TT in EP at those limits I'd have to limp otherwise win a $3 pot.Name 7 possible hands that limp and call a raise pre-flop. Unless it's a crazy loose passive table I'd think I was being set up and be very careful.Limit, betting out is correct. NL how much do you bet? If you raised to say $5 preflop
  2. Well, I agree with you guys on calling. I had a bad feelinf but called anyway after thinking it through. He torned over 3-5 os and I was gone. His play was nuts and brilliant at the same time. No way I could put him on that hand. My only hope is I get lucky enough to do the same to someone else one day. What a great move huh?
  3. Ok change the amounts a bit and then would you call. Lets say I had $4000 left and he put me all in. My point was more the cards than the money. I was trying to figure his hand out. Was he holding A-T or on a draw of some sort. He called the bet on the flop and then check raised me. Even if it was only $800 it would bust me out.
  4. I guess $2k is a strange bet. It was in the heat of battle and I figured I had the best hand until the reraise. Also, with the way the other two were palying I would have pick up quite a bit. Maybe not enough but like I said I've been in worse positions and climbed out.
  5. BTW, Qualifier. Only first pays. Why push? If you think you've got him he might fold to a push.
  6. Intersting. I could fold and with the way they were playing feel I'd have a shot a still taking first. With the blinds at that level I could fold and reuild off the other two small stacks. I've been in worse positions before. You still call if you think you're beat?
  7. I was folding almost all of my hands so when I came in UTG for 4x the BB pocket 9's isn't a bad hand to go with. The few times I bluffed were from UTG otherwise I wouldn't have lasted as long as I did. 99 is certainly better that the 4-6 os I came in with 2 rounds later. That was the reason for the post. I can play some crappy hands and keep myself alive in the trny but you eventally get caught. I make moves to stay alive and figure, OK the decent hands are coming soon. It then gets to the point where the blinds are really starting to hurt and you make a move, a good player realizes you
  8. Sorry, no hand history from FullTilt so I have to do this the old way.SnG Blinds $50-$100. I 'm in 2nd with $4000SB has $1200BB has $6000Me on Button dealt A K Raise to $400 both callFlop A T 4 Both check I bet $800 (Don't mind a caller) Both call-(I'm thinking I got them both with A's and lower kickers)Turn 2 Both check. I bet $2000. SB fold BB puts me all in.Do you call?I'll post the answer tonight.
  9. Has anyone else ever suffered a long, long streak of not getting playable hands in a particular game or setting? Online doesn't count by the way because I really don't want to start that "They're cheating" thread. In the past 6 LIVE trny's I've entered (Over about 3 months) I have had 5 or 6 playable hands for the whole trny. Saturday nite I played and had exactly 5 playable hands. I won two and lasted to the final 4 tables and busted out when my pocket 9's ran into quad queens. When I leave the trny I can go triple my buy-in in a cash game in the first 2 hours. I know I am playing correctly i
  10. I haven't won a live trny yet but I've won quite a few on line and I was curious if people fold hands the same way live. Example:Blinds $300-$600 Me $8500 in BB dealt J 2 os, Opp $4500. Opp raises to $1800. Fold of course, right? The reason I ask is I the last guy I played heads up got pissed because it took us 45 minutes once we got heads up. I wouldn't give him any action unless I had a hand initally. After 10 minutes or so my raises caused him to fold and I felt I was in control and got him off his game.So...is that correcet heads up? Anyone that would think me a lesser player for foldi
  11. I play a fair amount of B&M trnys and usually make the final 2-3 tables. I play conservative early, tight aggressive mid trny and a mix near the end. I am playing in a trny at a volunteer fire house this weekend and wanted some advice from people who have played these types of trnys. They are using Roberts rules and have dealers but my bet is 1/2 of the players are the "seen it on TV types".Here's the set up. (I know poor overlay but it's close by and it is for charity) $150 buy in. No rebuy. 80 players max. $1500 starting chips and blinds start at @25 $50 with 30 minute rounds. I don'
  12. I'm playing a NLHE Trny this weekend where I've never played before and I have heard there are a ton of "Gus Hansens" and "Danials" who bust out in the first hour. They all think they are great but are average. My idea is this:Wear sunglasses and look like a poser trying to look like a player. During the first couple of hands act like a bufoon. For example, when I'm first to act fold instead of check or if I bet, bet the small blind amount. A few hands later, raise but raise the wrong amount. All the while talk about watching the WPT and Celebrity Poker. My goal is this: Any top player will i
  13. So....if I put money in a collection plate and that's my entertainment money the Chuch is sinning. I actually agree with that but never thought of it that way. That would also make Bingo a sin but there I go trying to introduce logic into religion. These sins you speak of were designed by men in order to control society. Everything not in the interest of the King or States was simply declared a sin. It's now 2005 and some people can't see the truth for what it is. Sad.Playing poker is no more of a sin than playing any other game against another person. Yes some people shouldn't gamble because
  14. many christians believe gambling is a sin, but it doesnt cleary state anywhere in the Bible that it is.I've seen Daniel play. He's NOT gambling but charging other players for the privilage of playing with him. Therefore, he is a business man and not gambling hence free of sin.
