  2. thats a huge bankroll for the limits you're playing. is there a reason for you not playing bigger limits? or are you just playing it safe?yeah. first off I live out of my bank roll. so I maintain several months of expenses "just in case"second I tried to make the move up (i posted a thread about this a few months ago) and kept getting clobbered. Plus I'm in a non gambling state so I don't have many options. As much as I'm making at these limits it is best for me to stay put right now.

  7. My guess is you don't live in a lottery state, or you've never bought tickets.I buy 1 ticket ($2) if it gets high ($100mill+)I can tell you that more times than not there is some ragged lady who gets out of a smoking car with 3 dirty crying shoeless kids that hands the cashier $100 and says give me 50 numbers. or a guy who still has his hard hat in his hand cashes his paycheck and buys a 12 pack and 20 numbers. Statistically, the lottery (megaball) is fueled by people at an average age of 37 making between $25-35K. and they spend an average of $12 per purchase. (had to do research for a clas

  11. never share a roll.have him stake you a set amount ie. $5khe get's 50% of all profit you make on a weekly basis until a point in time where you are able to pay him a lump sum of $7,500 (a 50% profit on his original investment)so as an example over x no. of months you were able to turn the 5K into $20K. he would have been taking 50% of your profit or ($7500)20K gross roll - orig 5K = 15K net profit/2 = $7500THENyour remaining $12.5K roll would allow you to pay him the lump sum $7500 leaving you your own $5K roll to begin keeping 100% of profits.Your friend you have made a 200% profit on his inv

  17. Hell, I fly across the country to play with "those guys" and 50 OTHER pros in a tourney. Plus, already played gratz once and I'm in on Reed's weekly game. Why not give it a shot, (if they'll play at the measley level my BR can handle). 1. Best case, I hang and verify myself. 2. Worst case, I get schooled yet improve my play.Probably 3:1 for the latter, but hey...
  18. yeah. I called cherokee this week to check on progress. They have the room built and everything is in place, they are waiting on one final document and then its open. (it was supposed to open this past spring)
  19. Just found out that raymer bought a house nearby and is moving to town.So we finally get a lottery, (last state on the east coast) the closest indian casino finally opened a cardroom, and Reed, Gracz, and Raymer will all be locals. and here I am moving away... Good timing... *idiot* :wall:

  22. Free at last, Free at last... good god almighty, I am free at last.Well after 6 weeks of being severly CTD (see thomas keller's article in cardplayer issue before last) the roll taking a hit for about $6K, PT stats gone to hell, and in general just in a F'd up mood from being kicked in the ass by Var. and Miracle Donks.... The light shines again.I was even considering canceling my Vegas trip and Indiana next month. but alas....I have turned the corner and the poker gods have re-accepted me into their fold. All is well in the cosmos and I'm a third of the way back...*whew*
  23. Cards are my only source of income.I am a winning player. (Downswing for this past month though, had a rough one)I agree with all previous posts.I make most of my $ from live play, online ring, online tourney (in that order) although my largest win was online MTT.I started by "learning the hard way" with $400 lost on party. Then read the books SS1 SS2 HEAP SSHE and never looked back.I quit my job 1 year and 5 months ago.
  24. My wife and I are moving there in Dec. (she's attending UNLV for her PhD)So houses, jobs ect.
