Completely disagree. I would typically read that flat call is a weak attempt to lure more callers, raising from 1040 to 1500 isnt gonna isolate , calling 1040 is the same as calling 1500, its all goin in eventually. That said, because this is the first hand of a 4.40 I think a call is right here.

Strong Flop...downhill From There
WeakLead21 replied to WeakLead21's topic in No Limit Texas Hold'em Cash Games
In hindsight I agree with you. I bet out on the river originally but after the hand I started to think it wasnt the optimal play.Maybe someday I will actually be able to realize what the best play is during the hand -
Strong Flop...downhill From There

I guess what I meant was checking opens the door for the Villain to bluff at us, which of course isnt such a bad thing, but a big bet would be tough to call.Maybe thats just me being paranoid -
Full Tilt PokerNo Limit Holdem Ring gameBlinds: $0.05/$0.109 playersConverterPre-flop: (9 players) Hero is BB with 6 6 UTG calls, 3 folds, MP3 calls, CO calls, Button folds, SB calls, Hero checks.Flop: 4 5 3 ($0.5, 5 players)SB checks, Hero bets $0.3, UTG folds, MP3 calls, 2 folds.Turn: 9 ($1.1, 2 players)Hero bets $0.5, MP3 calls.River: A ($2.1, 2 players)Hero?I got a little confused here. Does anyone think its worth it to put another bet in here? Doesnt look to get a lot of value, but check calling seems like a pretty bad idea too.

Mark down another failed attempt at online sarcasm for yours truly.

I'm sure the addition of cash Roshambo tables will propel ub to the head of the pack now I was gonna post a Roshambo HH but couldnt figure out what forum to put it in.

I agree. As much as his line looks like he hit the flush, you have to remember that your line looks nothing like a flush. I can see him making this bet pretty easily with a KQ type hand.

Call Or Raise On The Turn?
WeakLead21 replied to Roberts2003's topic in No Limit Texas Hold'em Cash Games
I feel like you gotta raise the flop and find out where youre at.The turn bet feels like he hit the A, I'd think theres a good chance hes holding AJ / AQ / AK and I like the flat call hoping he hangs himself on the river.River as played. -
5 10 Nl 6 Max, River Call

Gonna have to make a good case for that one. -
2 4 Nl, 6 Max, Huge Decision On The Turn

Folding might be bad, fair enough. But im pretty sure calling is terrible. What are you gonna do when a Q turns? -

That is a pretty strange line the Villain took at that pot, but I feel like his range still includes 1010 / JJ and some Ax. On top of that, even if some of his range did have KJ / KQ in it, hes drawing decently to the river (not a huge worry).Congrats on catching him tho -
Jq, 9t4t8 Board, Check Called Will River
WeakLead21 replied to Jam-Fly's topic in No Limit Texas Hold'em Cash Games
QFTIf I got the right idea for the size of the pot, a checkraise will probably commit your whole stack anyway. The 8 is such a scare card for the hands youre trying to get value against, you dont wanna risk letting him check it down. -
Sorry, left out another important point. I started this hand with something like $20...leaving me with almost $12 after the flop call. After the call on the flop I had myself commited all the way...but I didnt wanna push because I thought that a push scares away everything I could beat.

Really? With him reraising preflop, of course i was afraid of AA / KK / AK before the flop...but who is gonna bet pot when the flop hits them perfectly?...Sorry im probably giving away the results, but let me rephrase the question. If we put our opponent on a PP, QQ or lower, is the flat call on the flop the best play?
