Report:Doublemeup welched on our unilateral agreement (I told him that he would give me $500 when he won -- he ignored it). I did win $500 at PL8 during the same time period, but I am still sore.

I meant to post this a long time ago. Here is a response:I played this tournament for 7 hours. 7 hours. I'm pretty sure I never put my money in behind in the entire tournament (past the rebuy period, in which I rebought 2 times). This is what happened after 7 hours. Has nothing to do with my number of posts.Quite clearly, I'd love it if he felt like shipping me a consolation prize...but I'm not really serious.

Prisoner's Dilemma / Possible Collusion Hand
dirtystacks replied to jjgoldy5's topic in General Poker Forum
Of course, that is a completely different situation. You're talking about a tournament vs. a home cash game. Even if you were just talking casino cash game vs. tournament, the rules are more permissive. When you add in the home element, many home games are more permissive yet. -
Prisoner's Dilemma / Possible Collusion Hand
dirtystacks replied to jjgoldy5's topic in General Poker Forum
Collusion is two players working together to obtain an advantage. Their interests were contrary here. She didn't want to give away her hand strength, but apparently she sucks at poker. He wanted her to give away her hand so he could make a good decision. There's no collusion there. (Unless they were planning on splitting up the money after the game.) -

Final 18 In $3 Rebuy Sat To Sunday Million
dirtystacks replied to ChrisRichey's topic in General Poker Forum
Why were you trying to amass chips when you were guaranteed a spot? I've seen people do this. It makes absolutely no sense. -
That is the right answer if you think that a week off will allow you to laugh about getting drawn out on. I was running so poorly I didn't play for about 6 months. When I stopped playing, I knew it was affecting my game. I probably wasn't playing great either. So I just used that time for something else for 6 months. Then when I really felt like playing poker again, I started up. I'm running better--not great. And I'm playing much better. Finally, I just don't care about the suckouts. I tell myself I wanted that bad call. Without that call, all that dead money wouldn't be there in th

"According to the US Govt"? Do you mean according to the Department of Justice? The DOJ does not make nor do they interpret the laws.Daniel, under antitrust law, online poker sites and live tournaments are completely distinct markets. Although some online sites may also run televised tournaments, it's not completely clear that these shows or tournaments compete effectively with the WPT's events. Mansion Poker dome's BS show cannot even compare to a televised $10k buyin WPT event. The problem here though is that the WPT hasn't made a counterclaim--essentially an antitrust claim against the

This reporter's characterization of what the WPT's answer actually does is pretty inaccurate. They mention this stuff in a preliminary statement but they don't actually make any legal claims.EDIT: And on further reflection, I note that the WPT is making many comments in their preliminary statement which mirror the comments you made on the blog. Is this simply because you spoke extensively with Lyle Berman about the suit and you knew what they intended to say? If so, you should realize that the arguments they make are legally and logically suspect. They are pure posturing. The WPT's lawye

Even raising premium hands 5 to 6 times the blind can be unprofitable if you play sub-optimally post-flop. You may be laying your opponents huge implied odds if you can't get away from a hand. I'm not saying this is your problem, but I'm offering it as a possibility. If you feel like you might be giving them implied odds or the table is REALLY loose, you could try raising 1/6th of your stack with AA. At this level any callers are making a mistake (at least the first one is).
