  1. I hit a slump last week. Made a very poor play in a big tourney I had a decent chance to place high in and flubbed it. For the next two days I hit rock bottom play wise. I was continuing to make poor choices and throwing money around in pots I had no business doing so. I stopped playing for 2 days and read a book, watched Poker on TV. Today I had a decent day and feel fresh and back on my game.
  2. Just wondering how everyone did today. Like to hear the success of other players. For me, thought the day isn't done....25/.50 L HE +$56.95MTT $5.50 NL HE 118 out of 322...blah! -$5.50ST $6 NL HE 1st place $25 +$19Total today - + $70.45Not bad for me I guess. I mainly play SnG's but I have been reading Hold 'em for Advance Players this weekend and tried my new found knowledge in ring games this morning and was pleased with the result.
  3. So I sat down today and played for 2hrs and 40 minutes on a .25/.50 Limit table(s).I was pleased, I used some of the above advice and came out $56.95 ahead.
  4. Daisy did the same thing, just walked away from Danny and Paul like they weren't even there talking to her.I can't watch those games anymore. I thought I was a bad poker player...jesus, what the hell were some of them thinking. Chuck Woolery going all in with...nothing. Daisy calling each of Kevin's huge bets when he was holding a boat and she had....nothing? It made me cringe. I want to go play with them instead of whaching them.
  5. About to venture into the B&M and wondered which casino is decent?Neither Greektown or Motor City Casino say much of anything on their websites regarding what games they really offer and such. Thanks!-Steve
  6. That's where I play as well.Sounds interesting. I will try it this weekend to see what happens for me. I usually come out ahead playing 25/50. I seek out tables with about 4 or 5 players. In the full tables people seem to chase more and it forces you to only play top tier starting hands. With less people you can get away with playing Q7, K5, etc.Patience seems to be a big asset on those games as well, which is probably obvious.
  7. My wife wanted to know if all poker players made testicle jokes, as she counted 7 of them in the episode, 2 or 3 in the first 5 minutes.
  8. Check the Lifestyle section in the main menu, they have a gambling section which has a 8 or 10 part series on Limit Hold'em. Each are about 10 minutes long and it's Mike Matasaw(sp?), Sklansky, Doyle's son, and another guy watching people play (who they coached) and discussing the game. Pretty interesting.
  9. Yeah, I thought it was a bluff since he was making a habit of doing this, but even after posting this I came to the realization I should have not done what I had done for a few reasons:1. HE may have been bluffing those other times but it's still a 50/50 shot he isn't at that point2. I didn't have a hand. I did if he had rags, but there was no reason to believe he had nothing. 3. My stack was fine, about 8th at the time, no reason to waste it on something so...unsure.What pisses me off now is that I did what I did. All game long, actually all week long I have been playing the best poker I have
  10. In my first fairly large tournament. $50+4, top 10 paid. 120 players.I am in the BB with A Q with approx $9300 in chips BB $800Everyone folds to the button who raises 3x BBSB foldsI callFolp comes out 9 4 7 I bet out $1000he thinks for some time and goes all inDuring the last hour he was going all-in about once every 3 hands whenever he waas bet into. I figured he was trying to steal the pot. Rags flopped and for whatever reason I put him on something that wouldn't be helped by the crap on the board. If anything I guess 9 9. So I called. He held 6 6 I went out in 18th position. It's b
  11. I liked the chapter on the final table at the San Jose WPT Game (I believe that is where it was) with Moneymaker. Just interesting to watch it on reruns knowing what was going on in head.
