This is nothing new. They have things like this all over Japan. Some are the ferris wheel type but I used one just like the OP linked to. We drove into a shopping mall and parked in what looked like a small garage. As soon as we stepped out, one of the walls opened up and the car got whisked away. Here's a cool pic of one in Germany that VW uses to store new cars:http://www.thecoolhunter.net/design/GERMAN-PARKING-GARAGE/Not sure what this has to do with Daniel's blog.

Any Know If Pokerrng Is A Scam Or For Real
PedalMettle replied to SCYUKON's topic in General Poker Forum
If you implement it the way described by poker stars, it is exactly the same, because the stored deck is formed using the random pick method. However, if you are trying to explain how your site works to idiots, I think they are more comfortable with the idea of a "shuffled deck" that exists somewhere. This corresponds to real life poker and seems more fair. People get all wigged out if the card is picked when needed based on a random generated at that time. If they clicked "call" 1 millisecond later they would get a different card. The probability of getting the card you want is the same -
Any Know If Pokerrng Is A Scam Or For Real
PedalMettle replied to SCYUKON's topic in General Poker Forum
The last post quoted the important bit, but the entire "Shuffle" section from poker stars help page here:http://www.pokerstars.com/poker/room/features/security/is pretty informative. I tend to trust poker stars knows their stuff because they are willing to explain exactly how they did it.I am not at all worried about them storing a shuffled deck on the server for the lifetime of the hand. If an attacker can read that information he has already hacked into the server. In that case, why bother cheating at a hand of poker? If you are in poker stars server you can probably just transfer money -
That is my hope. I think it's pretty obvious that almost everything government does is stupid. If you agree with that, then why do we want them doing more of it?

Startling Discovery At My Local Cardroom
PedalMettle replied to Bill_Brasky's topic in General Poker Forum
Too much. Now you've made it obvious you are kidding. Although the "joke" is still in very poor taste IMO. -
Everyone is probably right to call BS on the cheat software actually working. There have been people selling software that shows hole cards but it doesn't actually work. Back in the early days of online poker it was possible due to poor shuffling algorithms.Using a laptop at the table may normally not be allowed, but here is a fairly well documented case of it happening:http://www.allvegaspoker.com/news_detail_87.html

How long now before somebody clips that and makes a music video with DN repeating "I'm a pimp" over and over?

NoShowJones: where do you live? If you really think it's a 50/50 bet I'm willing to give you 6 to 5 I can pick the As by switching. We can do the bet as many times as you want until you are convinced or out of money. In fact, the more times the better! What you may be missing is that the person with the 2 aces looks at the cards and, if one is the As, turns up the other one. He is never going to turn up the As which is why it doesn't change the 2/3 chance that the As is one of those 2 cards. If he just flipped one at random without looking then you would be correct, it would be 50-50 i

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Monty_Hall_problemActually, DNs explanation was one of the better quickie explanations I have seen for this. It helps to see the 3 cards and think "2/3 chance the ace is here". The great thing about using it for gambling is that stupid people just can't understand it and will argue until they are blue in the face that it is 50-50.

I agree. This is some entertaining content. I don't understand why people are jumping all over you just because there is an inoffensive link to your web site on each post.

If you notice, the promotional shirts and hats you see during the TV coverage are always for the .net, free play "poker school" versions of the sites. It's strange that FCP didn't put fullcontactpoker.net on their stuff.

If I'm not mistaken, DN was one of those who paid $1000 to get Mikey to stay.

I think TheCinciKid answered your original question but if you are really looking at your profits you might want to consider the 20% juice on a $5+$1 SNG. You may want to try the $10 SNGs if you have the bankroll. I don't think the $10 SNGs really attract much better players than the $5 ones. You could also try one of the sites which only charge $5+$.50. In your example, if the entry cost was $5.50 instead of $6.00 your ROI would be $455 / $1155 or about 39%, so you can see it makes a bigger difference than you might guess.

No, I don't work for Bodog but I can see how you might think that given it was my first post in this forum. I do play there (badly). If you want to win a seat it's just another way to win a fixed amount of prize money. The sites are more likely to kick money in for seats vs. normal tournaments because of the promotional value of you wearing their stuff on TV, should you be good/lucky enough to appear in the broadcast. Bodog is kicking in quite a bit right now, but so are FTP and many of the other sites. The main factors to consider are probably the level of the competition at each site and

I don't think there is any catch to the wins. They seem to be on a huge marketing campaign and are willing to eat the cost of the guaranteed seats. If you think about it it's pretty cheap advertising to get a lot of Bodog shirts and hats on TV. You will definitely have to wear something that says Bodog on it if you win. Also, you can't sell your seat if you win. You have to use it yourself. The WSOP Semifinals (which award the actual seats) pay out 1 seat per 50 players, but the first is always guaranteed even if they get less than 50. I noticed that this Saturday they added 2 extra seats
