    Wsop Event #39 World Championship H.o.r.s.e. $ 50,000

    Here is how the hand went down. Bruno had an Ace up in middle position, and behind him was my Jack and all baby cards. His raise there is close to automatic considering I'm on the short stack. He raises, and with a completely live J-J-8 I decide to finish the hand quickly and re-raise to 40,000. Comes back to Bruno, and he makes it 60,000 and it's pretty obvious to me he has AA. At this point I have to call the 20,000 more. On fourth street we both catch dead cards. He bets 20,000 and I call. On fifth he catches another dead card and I make JJ883. His hand is AA 34Q. He bets 40,000 I go all in for 49,000. Bricks on sixth street... he catches a 3 on the river. The hand played itself, but it's pretty unlucky to have JJ there and for Bruno to actually have AA in a spot where he would raise blind. I can't believe I'm out and wish there was a rebuy. I hope Barry wins to protect the event's image. If the wrong guy wins it's just bad for poker and when I left there were several donkeys left in the tournament. I watched some of the worst poker I've seen last night. Stephen Wolf cost me a big pot in a situation he had no business in. Amnon made a donkey play against me, and other players made plays that will boggle your mind.
    Daniel, did you ask Phil Hellmuth to type this up for you ?? Not very classy, my friend. Hope you didn't act like this at the tables.It's not donkeys winning tournments that tarnishes poker's image - it's people acting like this and saying these types of things during tournaments. You are better than this DN.Maybe time to take a few years off and work on your golf game until your head and heart are in the right place (WWJD ?)God Bless.

    Tough crowd man. That's ok, though, I just banned all their chat privelages while sending them all deadly viruses to their computer that will not only destroy data, but will also burn the retina in their eyes so that they'll likely go completely blind within the next few days. Hey, that's the least I could do to protect a newb :club:

    Overall, Florida sucks when it comes to poker.The only thing close to decent are the tourneys at the Hard Rock Casinos (one in Tampa, and one in Ft. Lauderdale)Their multi-table tourneys range from $100 to $1100 buyins, depending on the day of the week.But if you're going to be in Jacksonville, that would be way out of the way for you.

    Oh my God, did he really?(sw)Yeah, that too impressed me that ESPN stood up and said there was a chip error. It's better than just pretending it never happened. Just curious for those who are set on hating Jamie Gold, if he makes good on his promise to give half to Leyser, and pays up to Chan, and comes through on everything he said, what would be your opinion of him then? I mean, is it possibly true that he was planning on paying the whole time, and wanted to set up a corporation first?-Shawn K
    I was curious to watch this after seeing everyone ragging on Jamie Gold. The guy's ethics are certainly questionable, but I gotta say he played an amazing tournament. Beating a field of 8,700 + players is incredible by any standards - you can't do that on luck alone. The guy's ability to f*ck wiht other players is second to none.

    i'm going to be in the area this weekend and was wondering if i could get a quick overview of the room. Thinking about playing the $150 tourny on friday morning, is it worth it? what are the cash games like? are the sit n goes worth playing?
    I played down there a few weeks ago in their Friday tourney - lasted a couple of hours at a super aggressive table. The $140 SNG was pretty good, but the blind structure is pretty aggressive, so be prepared to play fast. Avoid the "Poker Pro" $65 tourney - it's a computer version of a poker table, and kind of a waste of time from what I could tell.Lots of dead money in the cash games, although the limit is low ($ 1-2).Good Luck.

    I hit one a couple of months ago in a MTT with 270 players on my first hand. Gave me the momentum to go on and win the tourney. It was a rebuy / addon tourney on UB - I never rebought or added on.My brother-in-law was playing at Bellagio a couple of weeks ago in the 1000+60 tourney. First hand he flopped quad Jacks, got pushed all-in by some punk with AK of hearts, and the punk hit his royal on the river. Will post the details of this sick hand in the Bad Beat forum.

    The link is Nooma.com. You can watch the first feature, "Rain" for free. They run about 10 minutes and all of them have a theme. I REALLLY like the Pastor, Pastor Rob. He is young and applies things in a very real and practical way. Also, MTV does the DVD's so it's high quality stuff. Check it out, and let me know what you think. I haven't seen them all, but my favorite that I've seen is called, "Sunday". I haven't seen the newer ones but am really looking forward to it.
    Daniel,I was at a Promise Keepers conference a few weeks ago, and they actually showed the full "Dust" video instead of having a 2nd speaker the first night. When I saw the "Nooma" name, I remembered your posting about it. Truly amazing teaching - I saw 10,000 guys blown away by it at the conference. When I told my church buddies that I first heard about Nooma on a Poker site, I definitely got some funny looks. I hope you can carve some time out of your schedule to hit a PK Conference somewhere this summer.God Bless,Matt
