Should This Turn Card Slow Me Down?

I deffinately see the merit in the check/call on the river and will play the same situation that way if it comes around again. He had KQos and obviously called. -
Should This Turn Card Slow Me Down?

Definately %100 he bets if I check. That is why I did not want to check because I did not want to talk myself into folding the best hand. Is this backwards thinking? I make a bet that only gets called if I am a HUGE underdog because I don't want to loose the pot to a worse hand by folding or a river suck-out. So the line you suggest is that check/calling is better than all-in because of the chance of getting Villans stack in the pot when I am winning is greatly increased. Are we resigning to the fact that I am seeing show-down no matter what? C/F is not an option? -

$1-$2 NLHE 8-HandedHero: $89Villan: $90Villan loves to raise in position at this loose passive table. Recently called down for his whole stack continually betting his 7 high flush draw on each street[it didn't hit]. He bought back in. I know him better that any other at the table and have played a good 20 hours against him in the last two months. He is trying to play TAG but can't resist the "any two card" urge every once in a while(becoming more rare). I have never seen him show a weak Ace(A2-AT)If he is in a pot, he is in position and was the preflop raiser( > %80).Pre Flop:Hero(SB):

Ring-game Pre-flop Decision
7notrump replied to 7notrump's topic in No Limit Texas Hold'em Cash Games
So the fact that he was raising into 5 players is a sign of strength? Makes sense.I called as I was thinking more along the lines of NoSup4U.He had KK. -
$0.15-$0.30 NLHE 9-Handed Ring-Game[NOT A TOURNAMENT]Table is extremely loose/passiveHero: $3.50Villan: $1.95Hero in SB dealt: J T Pre-Flop:4 limpers, Hero completes, Villan(BB) raises $1.95(All-In), 4 folds, Hero...???Pot:$3.45 facing $1.65...just over 2 to 1 right?I put his range as AA-22, Ax, KQ. Oh and don't ask about the small stack sizes, the game is wierd and hard to explain. I just want to know if based on the range I put him on, should I call this?

$0.10BB NLHE home game. Everyone has gone home except myself and villan(actually a good friend)Villan: $18.70Hero: $18.40I had clawed up to even from starting heads up down ~$25 to ~$10. I had done this by playing tight aggressive preflop and folding in the SB a few times when he would groan with obviously a good hand. I would re-raise his PF raise when ever I thought he had no ace/pair and this had been working. My continuation bets were aggrivating him and he would show down 4th pair to my TP/TK. I would say he was playing loose aggressive but turned a bit passive when I bet post flop.D

Keeping Personal Playing Stats
7notrump replied to 7notrump's topic in No Limit Texas Hold'em Cash Games
One thing I was thinking was at my home game we get 100 chips. All chips are 1 except greens are 10. With multiple small chips(40 to start) and the "knowledge" that as the evening goes on I will have more chips what if I subtley made stacks with different chips representing different actions.eg. Say in a particular orbit I go preflop:Button: foldCO: raiseMP+2: foldMP+1: callMP: foldUTG+1: foldUTG: foldBB: foldSB: callthen I could have a nine chip stack with the bottom chip white(w) and the following chips, red® w blue(B) w w w w and the top chip blue for a stack ofbwwwwbwrwso out of nine I -
OP: good question. I have wondered the same. nomad_monad: good post. This really clears things up for me.

Yes.I haven't done it but just had a thought. -
Has anyone heard of players keeping stats at a home game?Which stats would you recomend keeping? How would you record these stats?Would the usefull information gained be worth the effort?

Home game so history is from memory.Stacks are small because we increase blinds so it is almost a tournament but not exactly. Still a cash-out at the end no matter how few or many chips you have.Hero: 48BB Playing Tight/Agressive though I am confident that Villan wouldn't know or use this informationVillan: 17BB Semi-Tight/Very-Passive "keeps you honest"5 handedI Have 87os in the BBPreflopVillan(UTG) limps, CO limps, Button limps, SB completes, Hero checks[i'm not going to fold right?]This sequence is not rare and Villan could have any hand(Ax, PP, 89-KQ) since I have NEVER seen him raise pre

Beating My Loose Pasive Home Game
7notrump replied to 7notrump's topic in No Limit Texas Hold'em Cash Games
Oops. I think I confused you more. He only wins the table if he knocks everyone else out. If he is the chip leader with 550 chips then he cashes out for $22.50($0.05 per chip). I hope this clears things up a little. -
Beating My Loose Pasive Home Game

I'm not really sure. We each get 100 chips. Blinds increase every 20 min until the 3-6 level which is as high as the blinds get. Cash out after 80 min. Repeat. If there are two tables they never combine. If you win your table then you win $5 x #of players at your tableSort of a hybrid I guess. -
I play in a game with my dads church friends and since they don't believe in gambling we only play two $5 games every Thursday. The thing is for me, a student with $10 a week to spare, this game is the only poker I can afford to play, both in terms of money and time. These men are just learning the game of NLHE and they like the structure of T100, T1-T2 for 20 min, T2-T4 for 20 min, and then T3-T6 for 40 min and then cash out and play another $5 for 80 min and cash out. Not my choice but...I have had most of my success waiting for AA-KK and going all in pre flop where someone will call and
