  1. my son discovered it at 12 yrs old, its play moneyhe was trying to learn how to play and was copying the other players bets, but had to place his firstBTW When i was 12, we were pitching nickels against the wall for closies outside Greenwood racetrack probably before you were born and we gambled marbles/hockey cards then too....

  2. I "acquire" free PSP games, and I have played the WSOP one on my murderous commute to work on the train... I've played Stacked on PC, and if Stacked is identical on the PSP, I'd say go with that. I just finished messing around with WSOP and wasn't a big fan. The AI in that game just doesn't make sense (not that it would ever compare to real play, but I've seen better), only the aggression level is more apparent with the "name" players. Whereas on Stacked, I found the AI to be a bit more intelligent than that, not always playing total trash and calling off the whole stack with 92o :club: Bottom line, if he wants a challenge, I'd say Stacked. My 2 chips worth :D

  3. Too funny.Haven't broken anything yet, but seriously considering getting a heavy bag for xmas.
Yea, best idea ever... would be a fine way to bleed off the stress, maybe drop some poundage, and save my keyboard/desk from another beating.Funny thing actually, today I was out at the mall looking around in a sporting goods store, and my wife actually told me to seriously consider getting one to blow off steam when I get pissed off :club: I told her to put it on my wish list :D Here's hoping :D
  4. Good god, this is my worst area of my poker game, let alone personality...thanks to my fine Irish temper... After nasty ass beats I've;1) Screamed bloody murder (when the wife was at work of course), picked up my keyboard, and teed off on my desk 4-5 times, scattering the keys everywhere. I still use the keyboard, and found all the keys. 2) After a 2 outer on the bubble of a big tourney that sent me out, I made a loud Hulk like noise (nice description by above poster lol), threw my mouse, smashed my keyboard a few times, then actually tore the shirt right off my chest. I still have the shirt (can't wear it though lol) and show it to friends when my wife tells them the story about my "poker face" 3)Punched my monitor to the point of breaking my fist, stood up, kicked the wall, then gave my desk chair a nice backhand which sent it across the room, slamming into the opposite wall. My hand was swollen for a loong time after that one. :club: Not proud of all this by any means, but I usually give these stories to people who ask me if I play online poker anymore :D I swear I need to be medicated to play again online. I never react this way though in real life. I usually just pick up my chips (if there are any left) and stand up, walk away and go home.

  5. Happened to me last night actually... I was grinding (well trying to..) a .50/1 NLHE for an hour or so before hitting the sack (yea I know, an hour isn't a grind, but I don't have that much time after I get home from work :club:) and I had gone through a few consecutive bad beats, but that's for another forum. Anyways, litterally right before I was going to log, I got a decent hand. Raised it up, bla blah blah long story short I hit a full house, stacking another player who hit a smaller boat, putting me up significantly for the night. Now I was in a position, as I HATE people going south on me. But I was so damn tired from work, so much that I should have been playing in the first place really. I stayed only for another orbit then had to log, and felt kinda bad about it. My point being, I am kinda torn on the issue. Yes, it is online and MUCH more continuous action coming to the table to keep the money rolling around, but then again if I were in the player's shoes that I just stacked, I'd be kinda pissed. Unfortunately in that situation I mentioned, staying to play while tired is -EV for both my game and my worklife :D I think the convenience of continuous action online gives it less of an impact, but still in my books I try to avoid it as much as possible. As for play money... easy for me to say it doesn't matter, but I guess to some people out there it would i guess *shrug*

  6. Trust me when I say you don't want to get into a Bad Beat HH war with the Beaver. You'll end up cowering and trembling in the corner, covered in your own filth muttering "dirty" while uncontrollably banging your head against the wall behind you.
    :D
BTW guys, this isn't just for bad beats, it's just for ridiculous hands that make you go, "Wha?!?!"
I know, it's just that those badbeats are the majority of the time I go," WTF WAS HE THINKING!?!?! LFT!!!11one1" and then proceed to tee off on the corner of my desk with my keyboard, magically scattering the majority of my keys across the room, and finishing with a backhand to the computer chair sending it skidding into the wall. Then my wife yells at me to, "STFU or stop playing that damn game" to which *I* reply... Wait...I forget my original point... :club:

Hehe, I can totally relate to this thread. I dont think we have enough room here for the amount of HH's I have from the last 3 weeks that i've gotten my money in as a 75%+ fav and lost in these $4.40's. *sigh*Ill grab and post some once I get home from work, then maybe the healing can begin... :club:

F**cking life tilt? :club: Nice post BG. No one knows me on here, but I read this forum everyday at work, and always enjoy a good laugh at your humourous posts. Glad to see everything is going well with your life! Here's to another 5000 :D
  10. OMG this thread is so damn funny, I am literally laughing so hard in my cubicle, I have tears running down my face. :club: Now my coworkers realy think im insane... started with muted giggling, then a couple stifled laughs, then full out, head-on-desk uncontrollable laughter as they stare on at me. This thread is gold... there's like 10-12 different quotes I want to use as my sig now. Thanks to the OP for the anniversary bomb of the century, and the rest of the replies... you have 100% made this Friday afternoon countdown to the weekend an enjoyable one! :D*EDIT*- Just realized this was a bumped thread...ahh who the F cares, was still hilarious

  11. A wise man once told me, "When it comes to women and money, pull out before you get yourself in more trouble."
:D:club: Now the others in the office are looking at me funny for laughing to myself... *sigh*
  12. Yahkin, I think you are missing the point here. You want him to make a mistake and call, you want to double up while being 60%-80% ahead. 11k sounds comfortable, but 26k gives you a much better shot at top 3. Average stack will increase dramaticly on the final two tables, and you may not get a better spot. And you will most likely have to confront this guy before it is all over, why not do it while realy ahead?Your WSOP question is relevant here. If 20k means a lot to you (it does to me), then you should be carefull on the bubble. The reason is that in that spot you are essentialy playing far out of your bankroll and can not handle the variance. You won't be playing enough 10k events to get the bennefits of +EV plays. Instead you are focused on surviving THAT day. A pro at that same table will be playing many 10k events and will have a bigger bankroll than you, so for them it is important to maximize their EV in the long run (by making final tables) and not minimize their variance on that one day.The 4.40$ is the exact opposite, you are the pro there and have the ability to play 100's of these, so for you the best play in THIS situation is to max your EV by accumulating chips and making more final tables in the long run and going deeper than if you played tighter in this spot. So that being the case, how much more value does doubling to 26k give you in this spot? Looking at Chip equity (this is not accurate with 19 players left but is a very rough guide, also assuming the MP1 folds)There are 270000 chips in play. If you fold you will have 11k/270k or about 4% equity which is about 28$. If you shove and everyone folds You get about 4 k (you didn't mention blinds so guessing 1k) so 15k=40$. If you shove and are on average 70% to winn, then 30% you will loose -4.4$70% you win 26k chips = +69$This adds up to about 47$ which is significant compared to the 8$.Anyway the above is rough and full of assumptions but you get the idea.
This is basically what I meant in my little blurb (lol) but He said it way more better and detailed :club:
  13. I did push. He instacalled with 66 and one heart. Turn blanked, river was a heart and I'm out in 19th.I know I played this hand exactly like I should have, but I still feel like a complete idiot for getting knocked out on the bubble with UTG out the next hand. Here's an interesting question. Clearly missing the money of $8 was insignificant. But what if this was the WSOP ME and cashing means $20,000. Do I play it the same?
Good god, I feel your pain. I had similar circumstances occur yesterday, playing hands the way I should be, with a clear thought process, aggressive etc etc. And of course getting drawn out. Don't beat yourself up about this one. I believe you played this very well. And like the others mentioned above, you are playing for the top 3 spots in these 180's, everything else is chump change. Although... your WSOP scenario may change it personally for me, b/c I need 20K :club: . However I would hope there isn't a donk would would play the WSOP bubble like he did, calling off with 66 and a weak flush draw. My 2 chips. :D
  14. Maaan oh man, this thread makes me sick to my stomach... :club: Good run man, I'm glad someone is making the most of it. I think you and I are the equal opposites of varience. I deposited around same amount, was dilligent with BR managment, and watched my $ drop like a stone as hand over hand got cracked :icon_biggrin:Good to hear you're doing the right thing and cashing it out! Cheers to a nice takedown!
