Hi. I am from Sydney and I only play online. Checked out Star City...highway robbery. 5/5 NL you have to give the Casino $1 every hand! Crap. Want to play 100 hands..you are already down $100. I dont think so.What is like at other casinos in Australia...esp Crown.

Looking forward to your reports Daniel. The first series is what has got me into poker. The amounts of money being put onto the table when the player has nothing is just astounding. I am new to poker and a recent hand online has me confused about the term 'the nuts'. Does it mean the best possible hand at the time, or the best possible hand taking into account the turn and river cards? I was dealt A Q the flop was 6 k 10 . The turn J (great, I had drawn an A high straight). On analysis of the hand with Poker Office, from this point on the program says I have the nuts. The River was Q . PO still says that my straight is the nuts but clearly a club flush could beat me. This became even clearer to me when my opponent showed 6 k . So is the program faulty or do I

Interesting blog. As a person new to poker I am not sure what to make of it. The thing that scares me the most about playing online for money is the possibility of collusion. I don't see how poker sites can be confident of detecting it. Certainly the format of this tournament seems ridiculous and kudos to the Canadians for sticking to values.

As an Aussie, I have to agree with Wayneo in that the England v Australia Ashes test series was probably the best series of all time.......even though England won. But for shear entertainment, newcomers should get a copy of the highlights of the recent Australia v South Africa one day game on 12th March 2006. Dn has not played badly. He had some bad beats early on, esp against Farha. He has commented on his play in one of his blogs or forum entries. He has been watching GSN and said that he was happy with his reads....

I think it was funny as well. i just wish i could do that. Usually I just get so angry that I am just plain rude to them. This is a lot more classy.

LOL...honestly...."peanuts" is not a poker term. It is a general term meaning a small amount of money. Mind you, I personally wouldn't call $25 000 peanuts, as I am sure many other people wouldn't!
