basically, i'm curious as to the conservative response to this fairly straightforward argument might be:http://www.nytimes.com/2009/09/06/magazine...amp;_r=1&emthe thesis of this lengthy thing is basically a combination of these two quotes:"Few economists saw our current crisis coming, but this predictive failure was the least of the field’s problems. More important was the profession’s blindness to the very possibility of catastrophic failures in a market economy" (p. 1).and"But it was inevitable that freshwater economists would find themselves trapped in this cul-de-sac: if you start fro

my table at the sunday horse on ftp is laying some of the most ridic beats on people i've ever seen. twice already, i've seen boats on 5th cracked by runner runner or worse in stud. i'm avoiding the storm and hovering about even, though.also, sorenkongsgaard, the red name at my table, is either nutbarring or lol-terrible at split pot games.

no, i actually know her irl and haven't seen her in a while, lol.

at the risk of sounding sketchy....i'm trying to get a decent hydroponic or some other indoor setup for the winter (and yes, believe it or not, i'm talking about vegetables) since it'll be 20 below most days and i have a big heated basement, but i've never done this before and was wondering if anyone had any experience and/or links that might prove helpful in this area.i'd be looking at growing:tomatoesleaf lettucezucchinifor sure, and possibly:broccolionionscarrotscucumbersgreen beansif those things are easy to do indoors.anyway, any help anyone might have in this area would be awesome. somew

yea, email them with a sob story about how you needed the money for something important and they'll probably throw you a bonus in return.also, hi stranger

if you're going to be using it solely for school stuff+web, the biggest thing you have to watch out for is keyboard size, as the smaller ones will drive you nuts if you're not used to them and/or a skinny **** with thin fingers. pretty much any atom-processor-based netbook will be fine for your needs, power-wise, but there are a ton of tiny, obnoxious keyboards out there. i have heard that MSI models have better keyboards than most, but what i'd do is go into best buy or something, actually practice typing on the floor models, then come back here and tell us which ones you liked best and we'll

haha, 90% of the time it was just a hard drive failure or mis-seated ram. since macs are generally more complicated to take apart (esp the early imacs), people were afraid to do it, and i'd make anywhere from 2-500 bucks a pop doing it for them. unfortunately, more people are doing this sort of thing these days, and broken computers are going for a lot more than they used to on ebay. alas.

Stud/8 Strat Doesn't Get Any Love
checkymcfold replied to MaxStPolish's topic in General Poker Forum
that's not that bad, but fold 4th. once you call 4th, the other streets are all fine.edit: you could conceivably raise when you make KK showing and try to iso for the high in a tournament setting, but that's risky and i don't think it's an ideal play, generally. -
outside of poker, i used to buy broken computers on ebay, fix them, and resell them at a fairly significant profit. it works best with macs, in case you're curious.

in the stud hand, i mean that if we catch a low card, and both other players brick, as it 1/2 turned out to be, we get to take off a free card when they check to us. this, matched with the value of us hitting a jack, makes this a pretty easy call, imo. that said, if we catch like a ten on fourth and face a bet from those kinds of boards, we lose all credibility either way and i toss it.the reason that beginning stud players can't play JJ here is that they will misplay it on later streets. if you told me that we had to bet if we caught low on fourth, i'd tell you to muck on third because that'd

fwiw, i think gwcwcgccwcccgcg and navy win this thread.NC, i think that a large part to being able to call third with this stud hand isn't bluffing equity but rather the likelihood of us getting free cards, as we did on fourth until we un-freed it . the hand is basically going to play out like stud hi in terms of showdowns, but we're a lot more likely to get free cards here than in a stud hi setup like this, and calling with a hidden pair here in stud is fairly standard, yes? granted, we aren't going to get a lot of bluffing equity no matter what happens, but the free card equity is plenty hig

fg, i thought i would be able to play 3 more, but moving is more complicated than i thought. they're all yours, if you have any desire to play more 4.40s (lol).

index, middle fingers and thumb, more like a 35-40 degree angle than 45. fwiw, i think the other guy will probably crush you, and i'm not just saying that because i'm a 135 lb former shortstop.
