  1. If I had more chips I probably wouldn't push. I agree with nomad that your value bet is to push since you are short stack. In the case that you have more chips you have nuts but not the kahuna nuts. Pushing would depend on how much he bets or raises you.
  2. I make a nice value bet here...half the pot or 3-4's of the pot. If he hit's his flush he may raise you and you can call or push. He might of also hit a lower set/boat on you. Either way I see you ahead on this flop most of the time. I think your turn bet was fine. You hit your hand and you lead out on the flop with a good bet which disguises the strength of your hand.
  3. You bet here...Jam the pot with your hand as it is the best so far. With the texture of this board you have to make them pay to play.
  4. I tried reading your response but got lost from staring at the picture lmao.
  5. The fact that he may not put you on a flush by the way you have been betting could you build a case to where you bet half to 3 quarters of the pot and if he does re-raise then you can push if not you would get at least a call?? I definitley don't disagree with going for a large river bet here. The only hand I really think that calls a large bet here is a smaller flush or straight but you will probably get a call with anything less than that with a smaller betEither way you choose you either get a call or you don't.
  6. I've been working on this part of my game too since I do a poor job of value betting. If you have the best hand in most cases a pot size bet or an overbet doesn't get a call from villian unless he may be holding 2nd or 3rd nuts. I would probably bet half of the pot or a little more. It gives him enough to call with his losing hand and for you to maximize the win.
  7. Thx for the insight. I think those 2 suggestions would have made my decision a little eaiser to come by. Obviously if I played as is and called the turn then I would be forced to call the river without any real information on what he could be holding.
  8. there are two better ways you could have played this (imho)What does imho stand for?
  9. What I meant was I didn't really need to push all my chips in. If the flush did hit on the turn I have an opportunity to fold and save money. Pushing doesn't allow me to evaluate each street accordingly not that I want to.
  10. I would raise more pre-flop but the average is in between .75 and 1 dollar assuming there was no callers in front of you. If I raise too much i won't get any action for itI definitely agree with needing to work on re-raising instead of pulling that move. I can get the same results by a re-raise and can have fold equity.
  11. Rail me on this since I'm still learning to play nl switching over from limit. Is this an incorrect move? I don't do this very often but I'm trying to get this out of my system. Must be from the sitngos that I play. I think i do this because I'm still not comfortable with my post flop play. i can lay down hands but don't always do it at the right time.Full Tilt PokerNo Limit Holdem Ring gameBlinds: $0.10/$0.258 playersConverterStack sizes:Hero: $48.05UTG+1: $21.35MP1: $27.25MP2: $10.30CO: $11.95Button: $5.60SB: $38.70BB: $30.60Pre-flop: (8 players) Hero is UTG with Hero raises to $0.75, UTG+1
  12. I prefer not to re-raise after making the inital raise with queens pre-flop. I prefer to see a flop first. I should be precieved as a tag so unless this guy percieved me as lag he knows I have a hand to re-raise me. I guess the way I played this I don't really have any alternative but to fold unless I decided to suck out. 14. One positive note is that you can give me your 1k and I will kick you in the nutz as hard as I possibly can. Then in a week after the pain goes away I will give it back to you.
  15. I like to lead out in this situation here since I can withstand a raise if he decides to do that. This way I can possibly avoid what to do on the river when it comes to a brick since I can possibly end the hand early. I am drawing to make a hand but at this point have nothing. I like this play because I can disguise my hand better and be the aggressor. Raiser pre-flop may have caught a piece of the flop and I doubt a check raise will do anything if he has a piece of this flop and you brick the turn. Now your force with a difficult turn decision to check or lead out again.
  16. I'd go broke with this hand all day long. Obviously your not going to fold.
  17. I agree if you are going to play it pre-flop and you hit your flop then you might as well take it all the way through.
  18. Well I think you have to look at long term odds wouldn't you? If this is a profitable call where you win 50 to 60% of the time then I don't see how this can be a fold.I don't know how aggressive 6 handed could be since I play at a full table. Would someone at these stakes cold call AK and not re-pop it before the flop. Also this is a button raise so from SB perspective he could have a variety of hands and would just be trying to buy the blinds. If he were to have a hand I'm more likely to believe A7.
  19. The guy that went all in had AQ... I folded. Another guy called his all-in and was on the flush draw. Sorry I got my sentences screwed up. There were 2 people that called my pre-flop raise
  20. Maybe I should have this time but I didn't. All-in had AQ and we would have ended up splitting the pot. He made a good move and bet me out with his all-in. I think with this particular hand it would have been better to fold since all-in was on a flush draw so if he hits it costs me more and the rate of return on this hand by splitting the pot isn't substantial to warrant a call I would think.Thoughts??
  21. Was it too agressive to overbet the pot to protect my hand? Standard or should I have just bet the pot and played accordingly if someone calls the turn?Possibly even bet half the pot but if I do that I probably would give some odds to call this turn for cheap.Full Tilt PokerNo Limit Holdem Ring gameBlinds: $0.10/$0.258 playersConverterStack sizes:UTG: $25UTG+1: $28.60MP1: $20.05Hero: $38.40CO: $56.25Button: $22.90SB: $5.80BB: $24.75Pre-flop: (8 players) Hero is MP2 with UTG folds, UTG+1 calls, MP1 folds, Hero raises to $0.75, CO calls, Button folds, SB calls, BB folds, UTG+1 calls.Flop: :D
  22. I make the call here as well...6 handed. If you lose you blame the poker gods for giving you your key card. Not very many hands that beat you here anyways. KK I'm sure there would have been a re-raise pre-flop unless he is known to be tricky. Only other hand you can possibly lose too is 7's or AK. I agree that is why bankroll managment is key for hands like this.
  23. It took me a-while to fold this hand because I really wanted to call. I'm not sure if in the long term if this would be better value to fold especially with a player to act after me but he was short stack along with all-in as well. My thought process is if that guy calls I'm probably behind to one player and hoping not to get drawn out against another.
