  1. To everyone who has taken this post seriously:What's wrong with you? This is supposed to be funny. I, personally, thought it was hilarious, and was then appalled that some of you responded as if it was a real idea. For God's sake, get a sense of humor.
  2. The tendercrisp bacon chedder ranch commercial...is that the lead singer from Hootie and the Blowfish. If so, is it embarrasing for him, or cool that he would do something funny like that?
  3. I wouldn't say "good fold" unless it was to a friend, but I think it was a smart play from your opponent. Anything you can say or do that will make other players over-analyze your play and/or go on tilt can only give you an advantage.I'll show my cards if I had a very strong hand, but I won't say good fold. I'll imply it, though.I hope you don't play in serious games. Why show your hand and let everyone know if they had the correct read on you?
  4. I don't see anything wrong with that play. No flush draw, unlikely straight draw, weak betting from the other players...you knew you had the best hand the whole way through. I don't see anything wrong with the checks to extract some money from someone who might have a decent hand. Maybe I'm wrong (it's a strong possibility), but I think whoever gave you shit about that play was just being a ****.
  5. Your post scares me. Whoever told you that online poker is four times harder than live play is way off. I would suggest starting at what you play online (if you play micro limits, just start at the lowest table). Take it from there. Some people play better live, some play worse, so you need to find your comfort level before jumping way past your bankroll. Speaking of bankrolls, bring 30xBB to the table.Again, play is not that much different live. Just like online, you have your solid players and your fish. Remember the line in Rounders, "If you can't spot the sucker in 15 minutes, you a
  6. My computer sucks, and has all kind of spyware crap on it. Is it even worth trying to get on Party Poker, or should I just wait until I get a new, faster computer?
  7. That's great that you have won so much the last few times at 3/6. Unfortunately, you are going to go through bad streaks also. Nobody can consistently win 30xBB at any table. Assume that you just have terrible luck and bad beats the next three times you play. Will your bankroll be able to handle that on a 5-10 table?
  8. Good luck, Charlie. But anyone who actually signs on to watch this guy play needs to re-evaluate his life.
  9. I think that a betting pattern is a tell. Not every tell has to do with shaky hands or dilated pupils.
  10. Be patient. Aggressiveness is great, but make sure you pick your spots, especially if you are a little nervous.
  11. First of all, good luck in Iraq. Thank you. Also, you should know that not everyone feels that way about the South. I am from Boston, which is known as a pretty snobby place. I know from experience that only uneducated assholes generalize about southern people. Anyone with an ounce of intelligence respects your culture. Personally, I can't think of a better culture than one that lets you eat fried chicken and gravy for breakfast. We'll miss your posts when you leave. Make sure to jump back on the forum when you get home.
  12. Thanks for the post.Next time can you go back to 50 hands in a row? I though that was great, because unlike highlights only (like tv poker), we could see a continuous thought process.
  13. Thanks for the replies. It seems like Party Poker has the easiest games, but not the best software. Is it worth it?
  14. I'm going to tell you what I think. Why? Because nobody has answered my post about online poker yet, so I am looking to waste some time.First of all, that sucks. It is a shame that there are people out there that would do something like that, but we can all benefit from the story and be more careful in such a situation. Thanks for posting, because it could save someone here the same pain in the future. As for how to go forward, I think talking to Foxwoods security is the best idea. They can get the tapes, find out who did it, and at least keep them out of the casino in the future. Who kn
  15. Hey all-As some of you may know from my posts, I have never played online. I do very well for myself in live limit games. And yes, Smash, I do keep records to prove to myself that I am not fooling myself into thinking I am a long term winner.Anyways, I think it's time to try online poker. I sit around for a few hours a night, and could be using that time to make some cash. I have done some research myself, but I truly value the opinion of the members of this forum. What site do you suggest? If you could give me some reasons why one is better than others it would be greatly appreciated.Than
  16. He probably turns off the conversation so he can't be goaded into a stupid argument. I'm sure there are plenty of online players who are just dying to critique his play in the WSOP.
  17. Yeah, there are a lot of loose low limit players. That is good news for you, since if you play tight-aggressive you will make a lot of money. As for Ax unsuited, I fold from any position, except maybe to complete the small blind. There are just too many ways to get burned with that hand. Especially in these loose games, playing mediocre hands will kill you in the long run.
  18. When you enter the poker room go straight to the main desk, where there is usually a large white board. Tell them your name and what limit and game you would like to play. When a seat opens they will call your name and tell you where to go. If they say a table number and you don't know where that is, just ask any casino employee on the floor. While you are waiting for your seat you can go get chips, or you can just put your money down when you get to the table and they will send for someone who will bring chips to you. Does this cover it? Ask if you have any questions, it can definately be
  19. You are a ****ing jackass. It has been explained a million f*cking times on this forum that Smash is only playing the micro-limits as an experiment and to help new players with their low limit game. There is no way in hell that you play high limits. Judging by your post and your screen name, you are about 15, and have never been to a casino in your life.
  20. Nice. Were they bluffing at it or did they also have real hands?
  21. Ok, if you are in late position and there are many limps I can see calling with those hands. I understand it, but don't agree. For example, 78s. Even though you will occasionally hit your flush, it is not a very high flush. If you hit your straight, you are probably good, but what are the chances that you will hit a nut straight? I'm not sure what the exact numbers come out to, but there is a much higher chance that you will hit a pair or a draw, and be commited because of the pot size. Yes, you will occasionally drag in a huge pot. This pot will not make up for the other 90% of the time
  22. By the way, everyone's wierd after 12 hours in a shitty AZ casino playing with cowboys, tourists, and ASU students.
  23. I'll admit, I have no idea how hard it is to represent anything online. In live games it usually works.Do you really think A7s and 45s are good starting hands? You might as well say that anything is a good hand that if played correctly can win big pots. With those cards the chances are much greater that you would flop nothing or flop something just good enough to make you call through to the river and lose than the chances of you winning a big pot. 99% of players who play Ax and 45, even if they are suited, are going to lose money in the long run. I don't know you, but I doubt you are in
