How could I have left Doyle AND Ivey off my fantasy team? I must have been drunk when I made it.

how much was 10,000$ worth in early 70's?

I think this is their intent with the Tournament of Champions. It's technically a "freeroll" but I think it's purpose was to create a tournament in which the majority of players would be "names". -
i'm sure stacked will be cool and all ...

Ha ha, he said tonne. Silly canadians. Gotta love 'em with there Greys, and Zeds, and Tonnes and Colours. I'm just joking, don't declare a flame war. I'm really excited for stacked, just because sometimes I want to play poker, but i'm not in the mood to take it too seriously. I currently have hoyle casino, but that's only limit, and the ai sucks . Plus it's just play money, so there's no real motivation. I'll probably play the career mode exclusively. I only play the franchise/dynasty/ gm modes in all my sports games, so that's what appeals to me. As long as the tutorial videos aren't too -
****tard...lol. That's awesome. Go Dan!!

i have yet to make a royal. I just made my first str8 flush two nights ago. 5-6-7-8-9 diamonds. Holding the 6-8. I was on big blind, flop came 7d-9d-9c. I'm thinking the guy regrets his decision to slow play his pocket aces preflop.

If someone can't live off minimum wage why are they working a minimum wage job?If the answer is they can't get a better job then my next question is why do they derserve more money if they don't have more skill?More importantly, why is it fair for someone to EXPECT you to supplement their income if they can't earn a sufficient one on their own? I pay taxes and taxes pay welfare, if they want more money from me they'll have earn it or get it there but they have no right to expect it.That's not to say I don't tip, which is very much the opposite of the truth, but someone's expectation should not

I don't tip after EVERY pot...If it's a small one, it doesn't make much sense to tip. The larger pots, I might tip two chips. However, I would much rather tip in a lump sum, ya know? At the end of the night, leave a tip for each of the dealers. It's just easier to do it the traditional way, i guess. I know what it's like to depend on tips, I'm a pizza delivery driver. But at the same time, if I'm delivering a personal sized pizza and a coke to the guy at the gas station down the street (total order about $5) I don't expect much tip. However, I would be upset if I delivered 12 pizzas and 6

A TJ-Jennifer-Todd 1-2-3 finish would be sweet for my fantasy team...

K...I got woke up a few minutes ago by my son. Usual late night kid stuff. But I was having this awful dream...Alright, I'm under the gun holding pocket Kings (Hearts and Diamonds). Don't know the chipstacks or anything like that. But I'm playing against a bunch of my friends...only its on TV. I raise to four times BB. Folded around to the button, who calls. Big blind also calls. Flop comes Ac- Kc-Ks....Sweet, I flopped quad kings. I raise all in (because some how I KNOW that the button had AA, and will call, and apparently acting out of turn) Button calls...but so does BB. Button Turns over

congrats! I have a two year old boy, and 5 year old girl...sometimes i get all girly and want another...then nights like tonight happen, and i'm tempted to schedule a vasectomy. (the boy's in his room screaming because it's bedtime, and my daughter's crying because she wants to watch spongebob, but i'm watching poker) Most of the time, they're a ton of fun, though. PS...the daughter knows the names of all the cards ranks and suits. She knows pairs, two pairs and trips. She recently discovered flushes. ("daddy!!! Those are all hearts!!!") but she can't wrap her head around straights yet. She's

It is most definitely the A-5 str8 flush, holding the A and 5. Any other two cards chould be beat by a higher str8 flush. not likely, but possible. Even 4 aces (the next lowest hand) could be beat by a runner runner to a straight flush. ANY OTHER possible hand can be beaten by runner runner. A little off topic, but when i first started playing online, I saw a crazy hand. The flop came 6h-7h-8h. UTG bet, MP raised, cutoff went all in. They both called SO FAST. First guy flipped over Ah-Kh. MP flipped over 4h-5h. Cutoff flipped over 9-10h. The AK guy made some comment about " guess i should

I've been through the same thing. You've just got to trust your reads. I know it sounds simple, but it's true. If you just have a "bad feeling" that he has the ace (or whatever the situation is) it can be hard to trust your read. But If you have other info, a tell, a betting pattern, etc. PLAY THE HAND THAT WAS DEALT. NOT THE HAND YOU WISH WAS DEALT.

I don't think anyone's questioning Mike Sexton or Vince Van Patten's poker credentials. Their broadcasting credentials are what's being brought into question. -
THE CRAZIEST thing i've ever seen playing poker, is related to this topic...At an eight handed table (home game) two players seated right next to each other both pushed preflop with AA. My buddy vinnie won when the first four cards out were all diamonds to give him a flush. About an hour later, the SAME two guys were both all in preflop with QQ. The same guy won again when he made his flush on the river.

Alot of that goes away with experience. Eventually certain situations become automatic. And the less you think about something, the less you react to it.

I've washed each of my decks at least a dozen times each. They are plastic, you can let them soak as long as you want. I even use a scrub brush. Supposedly it's not good to use detergent, though. I just use regular old bar soap. Just don't use hot water. Plastic melts. If you're still afraid, test it out using the jokers. PS: While they aren't nearly as good as KEM, the cheap plastic ones you can get on ebay for 99 cents, plus shipping (usually around six bucks) are still ALOT better than plastic coated paper decks, if you just can't convince yourself to spend $20 on two decks of cards. I h

has poker improved other parts of your life?
joeythep replied to zimmer4141's topic in General Poker Forum
I've gotta say, it's honestly helped me control my emotions. And thanks to Mike Caro, it's alot easier to tell whether my kids are "bluffing" or not, when they blame each other for messes and stuff... -
I was playing in a $5 MTT last night. i was really on my game and was in 14th position with 67 left. With the blinds at 200-400, and a 16000 stackI had two red jacks in the SB. A player in MP limped, as did the button. I raised to 1300. The BB folded, MP folded, and the button (who had me slightly covered) called. the flop came 5h-4h-5cacting first, I bet out, 2500.the other dude thought for just a sec, then called. the turn was 10cat this point, i couldn't put the guy on a five, as he was a smart, skilled player who i had played against several times before. I couldn't even see him playi

After winning my third MTT in a month , I had a coworker offer to stake me to play higher buy in tourneys (I only play the $5 currently, and only about four or five a week) I turned him down. I'm a net plus player ($11/hr over the past seven months) but I'm not confident enough yet to accept that sort of an obligation. The guy's my friend, and I would feel bad if I lost his money.Edit: I just checked my stats again. The hourly rate is just a touch over $10 now. Been running a bit cold the last week or so. Speaking of which, I think I need to post a hand I played last night...look for it...I'

It's really small stakes, just a $20 buy in, but we usually end up with about $300 in it after folks rebuy. I usually do well, doubling or tripling my money. But tonight, there was a new guy...Don't know who he knows, how he was invited...but god he was awful, and man was it sweet. I'm already up to $65 in chips. I get AK off suit in the BB. This new kid raises UTG to $1 (25-50 blinds) Folded to cutoff, who raises to $2.50. Button and SB fold, and I think for a minute before reraising to $5. The kid in the UTG seat thinks for what seems like ten minutes, before calling. When CO reraised al

i think i made a mistake with this hand.
joeythep replied to SportsW234's topic in General Poker Forum
Please understand, I'm not trying to play the "i'm smarter than you" game...BUT...How does "knocking out a dangerous opponent" justify loose calls? It seems to me, the last thing you wanna do is risk giving that guy more chips. If he wins that hand he's the chip leader. If he steals the blinds, whoopee, you still have him outstacked. You did make a mistake, in my estimation, but it worked out for ya.
