Not sure exactly how the business relationship goes, but it's not just using pokerroom software. It's all part of the same network. Players on PR and PowerPlayer are now also playing with players from FCP. Same tables and stuff, different looking software.

joeythep replied to joeythep's topic in General Poker Forum
But at 2am? I mean, who has the energy for that at that hour? -
Hey. I've been a member here for about a year , I post every so often, but not as much as some. Anyway, I thought I should be a bit more active so...I will be hosting a private tourney for those who enjoy staying up late. The details are as follows:It will be THIS Friday night, at 11 pacific, 2 am eastern. It is Joeythep0's (that little o thing is a zero. i find it odd that it's so small) Tourney. The password you will need to enter is "krablar". Five To A Table No Limit Hold 'Em$5 + .50 buy in, with unlimited rebuys in the first hourstarting stack of 1500, with a slow moving blind structure (

in 1 year what do you think your bankroll will be at
joeythep replied to Fluffdog87's topic in General Poker Forum
My bankroll's hurting a little lately. And it's puny to begin with. I'm sitting on $71. It was over 500 a month ago, but, after a short streak of bad luck turned into a long streak of bad play (and bad decisions as to WHEN to play), it was down to just a hair under $200. I cashed out $120 to buy an MP3 player (yay Black Friday Sales!) figuring that I'd better spend it on something cool now, before I blew it all. Anyway, a few months from now, it will be at least $1000, as I have come to an agreement with my wife to add money from our tax refund, on the condition that when it's gone, I'm done. -
Dude, I smell another ESPN made for TV event: World Series Of Poker Tournament of Advisory Panel Comittee Members.

Yeah. I'm growing a little tired of the "don't try, you won't succeed, the life sucks, blah blah blah" posts. I'm married and have two kids, so you're not gonna see me running off to Vegas or AC to try to "go pro". But if I had been into poker five years ago before I got married, you better believe I would have tried. You're only young once. When i was 18 I quit my job to play in a band full time. We made enough money to pay rent one month (my girl, now my wife, had to buy groceries for us though, lol) and didn't make crap the next. I was back in the mill after that. When I was 21, and laid o

haven't used this forum for a while. Gotta bitch about this one, though. Its early in a $5 MTT. I've got about 1300 of my 1500 starting stack left. Blinds are 25-50. In the cutoff, I've got AK of spades. four players in front of me limp for the 50, I raise to $300 to thin the field. 3-4x BB hasn't been cutting it with these guys. Big stack (6500) in BB calls, everyone else folds. Flop: Kc-5h-9s. BigStack checks. pot is 825, I have about 1000 left, so any bet I make is gonna tie me to the pot, so I push all in. Big stack calls quickly. I'm certain he has KQ or KJ, something like that. I'm

my alter ego thinks daniel is a fish in the big game
joeythep replied to Alter Ego's topic in General Poker Forum
Yep. My thoughts exactly. -
This thread makes me sick...because I don't think I can give an answer here. I suppose I would do it, if i wasn't thinking about it. If I thought about what I was doing, I wouldn't. If I was using a program, and found out what it did, i would probably initially think it was cool, and mess around with it for a while. Then I would go through a guilt trip and stop using it. If I didn't uninstall the program, temptation would probably get the best of me eventually, so hopefully i would feel guilty enough to do so. I do know I HAVE turned down free money on more than one occasion. The first time,

You know you've been playing too much poker when:You count your wages in BB/hr instead of $/hr. You don't tip 10 %, you tip at 10 to 1.The first swear word your kids say is followed by "nice suckout donk"You hear your kids playing in the bedroom and the only words you can make out are "all in" and "bad beat"Every time you have more than one object in your hand, you try to shuffle or twirl them. Your buddies ask why you waste your time buying a powerball ticket, and your answer is "Dude! I'm getting 300,000,000 to 1 on the call, and im a 1 in 116,000,000 shot to catch!! You'd be getting the co

Dude! You're kidding me! I have a .25-.50 game going on at a friends house tonight. If DN wants to show up with 125k and go around betting 10k with Q3 off, i'd welcome him. When I read the blog, my first thought was: "Wow, what a generous guy"I mean, seriously, a player capable of adjusting to a maniac could have made a killing last night.

what is your favorite/least favorite hand???
joeythep replied to Al Smooth's topic in General Poker Forum
My favorite hand is AA...duh. My least favorite hand is...AA. I mean come on, the last thing I wanna do in the first level of a 300 player MTT is put all my money in preflop against 3 other players. But you can't fold AA. I swear, if i'm out in the first level it's because some dude went all in preflop with Ax suited, and two players with low pocket pairs called. poor joey sitting on the button with AA loses to somebody's runner runner straight. I HATE HAVING ALL MY CHIPS IN PREFLOP!!!!!!!Sorry...two first level outs with AA in the last two tourneys I've played. -
trying to prove a point to a friend of mine,

The right sunglasses.Dude. The sunglasses don't mean diddly without the correct headgear. Like Hellmuth, for example. It's the shades that make the first impression, but the hat that makes the LASTING impression. -
Okay, I just read this thread for the first time. One of the funniest threads I have read on any forum.

The biggest leak in my game is my inability to say no to poker when I know I won't be bringing my "A" game. . . or even my D- game. Like when I am too tired or stressed out to concentrate. Which is OFTEN, as I have two little kids. I try to play play money online, but I think the worst video game will provide more of a challenge than those people. So, while it'll cut into my hours played (real money) it can only be good for my hourly rate if I'm always on my game when real money's involved. But...I'll wait for Stacked.

I would recommend just setting your resolution at 1600x1200. There should n't be any overlap with four tables at that setting, and it's just alot easier on the eyes when everything is on one monitor, instead of flicking your eyes back and forth. Any monitor 19" or bigger should be big enough to do so without too much eye strain, but I used a 17" for that purpose until I got my 21"

The pastor at my church when I was a kid was named Richard Headings. Apparently his mind didn't "go there" because he chose to go by the name Dick. I also went to school with a kid named Stormy Beech, and he had a sister named Windy.

what is the craziest hand you have seen?
joeythep replied to PocketRocks's topic in General Poker Forum
I've already told this story in a few other similiar threads, but it's still the craziest hand i've ever seen. I folded preflop and wasn't involved. It was in the first round of a $5. 50 online MTT. Don't remember the preflop action, but the flop came 8d 9d. First guy to act bets the pot, one fold, then an all in raise from the short stack, one more fold then an all in reraise from an average stack, original better calls. First player shows Ax d for the "nut" flush, next guy shows 10d Jd. The last guy shows 5d 6d. Three players flopped the flush, two flopped a straight flush. Dude's 9 h -
well, i don't remember exactly when i became a DN fan. I think it was after watching him rip Freddy Deebs a new one in the Championship poker at the Plaza. He became my favorite, though after seeing how much better and more personal his site was than all the other poker player sites i had seen. He's just a fan friendly dude.

I stick to the 30 BB rule. The reason being, that I've read this in articles by Howard Lederer, Jen Harman, Annie Duke, and Daniel, and I'm sure other players I know and respect have written the same. My reasoning is that if that many successful professional players say 30BB, there must be something to that number.

Congrats! Celebrating my fifth anniversary in two weeks. Remember, it's easier to get forgiveness than permission. J/k. Be honest with each other about EVERYTHING, and no matter where you're at, every night take a while just to talk. It's so important to keep each other involved in every aspect of each other's lives. I know it sounds corny, but one of the things that keep my wife and I happy after five years, we eat at least one meal a day together, with no distractions. No TV, no nothing. Well, the kids. But you guys don't have to worry about that one...yet. Speaking of which, interested
