The adrenaline quickens your pulse, which raises your internal body temperature, which in turn makes you more sensitive to external cold temperatures. Similiar to when you have a fever. Happens to me all the time.EDIT: Just read the post above me...i think it's some combination of our two answers.

This should be an easy fold. I don't know what you mean by "everyone is short stacked" I've always defined "short stacked" as having fewer than 10bb. by that definition, only two players are short stacked. Anyway. While you don't have many chips, you're not facing immediate elimination. You have enough chips for three trips around the table, and you're under the gun. While the bigger stacks might fold smaller pairs, or a slightly better ace, in the face of your all in bet, the shorter stacks are probably getting desperate and will call with alot of weaker hands, smaller pairs and better aces

The thing is, you can go to costco and get a "better than you need" laptop for around $800. Sure it's "only" a couple hundred more , but you could spend that extra couple hundred on strippers instead of computer upgrades you don't need. Dude. Think about it... Strippers!!

The problem with that is, that you are actually cutting down your risk/reward ration. Say you spend $1 and win half of a $10 mil jackpot, thats a 5million to 1 payout. If you spend $2 to win 2/3 of that jackpot, it's $3,333,333.33 to 1 pay out. You've actually reduced the payout ratio by one third.

As convenient as it is to be able to instantly transfer money from your bank account, to your poker account, a simliar (although much smaller) scenario led me to remove my bank account info from Neteller two years ago. In order to make deposits to Neteller now, I go to the bank, buy a prepaid mastercard in the amount i want to deposit, deposit it to my neteller account and immediately transfer it to FCP. Costs me a small fee to make the CC deposit on neteller, and it's a bit of a hassle, but I know that nobody's gonna be getting $816.65 out of my bank account, too.

Yeah, on one hand, I feel that what i did was classless. And i've wondered if i would have done the same thing if it wasn't my brother. On the other hand, the guy was a jackass, the dealer wasn't doing anything about it. If I had known the floor guy was five feet behind me I probably would have flagged him over. On the other hand, it's not like I deliberated over the matter and then announced his hand. I saw the guys cards, looked at the dealer, and just yelled it. It was a fast enough reaction that i didn't even put together that he had the straight until after i said it. I just said "dude'

Last weekend i was on business in Long Beach, CA, and hooked up with my brother who lives down there, and who i haven't seen in two years. We decided to head over to Hawaiian Gardens Casino, where we played 100 NL. I was in seat ten and there was one player sitting in seat two, who kept showing his hand to the guy in seat one and whispering while the hand was still in play. I told the dealer about it twice, but he did nothing. On one particular hand, it was heads up preflop between my brother and seat two. The flop came 5s-6s-8s.Both checked. the turn was the 3s My brother bet out $10, and

Check with your ISP. Most of them offer at least some file hosting. I know for sure that Comcast does.

marijuana compared to fast food --go back to hs
joeythep replied to teacher12's topic in Politics, Economics and News
Thank you for the compliment, however i'd like to mention that i am not, in fact, 15. I am 27. Maybe that dilutes your opinion of my post. Who knows. -
I've already agreed that my preflop raise with two raises in front of me was foolish, but here's why I did it. Not justifying it, just explaining...:The first raise meant NOTHING to me. Since we got down to four handed, that guy had been raising from early position almost every pot. The second raise meant little, because THAT player seemed to have caught on to the other guys aggressivness and had played back at him the last two times he raised. I was confident That at least one player would fold, and was ready to fold to a big reraise until I noticed my odds. Anyway, here's how it turned out.

I'm sorry about the lack of an actual hand history, i didn't realize i had never enabled stats at FCP. I'm the top stack with four players left. I have a little over 7k On the BB (100-200). UTG is a solid player with about 4k, however he's been raising 3 out of 4 hands preflop for the past few rounds, Button has about 1500. He's been shortstacked for a while and just pushing or folding. SB has around 3k left of what was once a 6k stack. He's hyperaggressive, and stupid. UTG raises to 400Button FoldsSB raises the min. to 600I look at K-10 Spades and make it 1500 to go. UTG foldsSB waits almos

Agreed. In such a small buy in tourney, you have to assume that the vast majority of the players aren't paying a lick of attention. That's why you see so many bluffs attempted in the dumbest places, etc.

I'm gonna take the conservative "Sklansky" approach, and say you HAVE to fold. 1) You aren't short stacked so you don't HAVE to get chips, ASAP. 2) You will lose here more often than you will win. Even if your read is correct. Let's say one dude turns over a6 again, and the other dude has "any two face cards" and give him KJ off. You'll lose 58 percent of the time. I don't think tripling up this early is worth getting knocked out more often than not. 3) UTG+1 may CALL with any two face cards, but to reraise he probably has better than that. Just saying. So...how did it turn out?

dn challenge and the death of mixed games....
joeythep replied to Brandon Adams's topic in General Poker Forum
two full pages? I'll take that bet...but there's stipulations...neither you nor I can make more than two total posts each. (you're most likely second post would be of the "i accept your conditions" variety) Now, what are the stakes? -
Okay ignoring the "trips" vs "set" argument, I still only see one set, and two full houses.

Theres a guy who used to play at our home game. It was a .25-.50 game, so $100 was a big big win. Anyway, when this guy played, he ALWAYS lost at least $200 . A real idiot, see every flop, turn and river, he'd pay off big hands with any pair, and he thought for sure that shoving his whole stack in the middle to win .50 was ALWAYS a good idea. Anyway, one week, after he had skipped the previous week...he started the night off hot, hitting two outers, runner runners, and putting everyone at the table on tilt. Usually I won part of his donk-offs, but this particular week, he was stealing everyb

marijuana compared to fast food --go back to hs
joeythep replied to teacher12's topic in Politics, Economics and News
Wow some of you are grossly uninformed and way off point. First of all...marijuana being illegal in no way shape or form keeps it out of kids hands. In fact as a fifteen year old i could get marijuana anytime i wanted. Just give me fifteen minutes. But if we wanted beer, we'd have to plan it. Marijuana, when consumed in moderation is no more harmful than OCCASIONAL fast food. For the record, I don't smoke marijuana anymore, i'm going on four years clean of the stuff. I also don't eat fast food. But in all my years of knowing and hanging out with "stoners" i have never once heard of stoned driv -
1) It sounds like a fun game2) I might buy a deck...or I might "bootleg" my own, with two identical decks and a magic marker3) I know a few friends, who try to play the game skillfully, but with whom it is still just a friendly game, who would probably LOVE to play this game. 4) The dude who plays like a maniac, calling all ins on gutshots does so because he hits them JUST often enough to make it fun. They are not playing to make money, or for ego. They're playing for the thrill of sucking out. When they're sucking out less, they're gonna leave the game and go play one with a bit more luck inv

what is the biggest leak in your game right now?
joeythep replied to suicideking's topic in General Poker Forum
My biggest leak is that I play to alleviate my boredom far too often. Which means I'm often playing spur of the moment without getting into the right mindset. So my brain is still thinking about work and what i'm gonna fix the kids for dinner, but I'm trying to play poker. Doesn't usually turn out well. -
daniel what were your last memories of stu ungar?
joeythep replied to cindyk's topic in General Poker Forum
Yeah, Stu's last days WOULD make interesting discussion. Accusing someone of "helping to kill a legend for a few lousy bucks" is NOT. I know NOTHING about the situation, except that :A) You don't know as a fact that Daniel took Stu's last 25k. B) You don't know WHAT Daniel knew about Stu. You just assume that he knew everything about the guy. I don't know every detail of my coworker's lives. C) Let's face it. Sitting down at a table full of professional gamblers with the last 25k you have to your name, while you're supposedly "trying to turn your life around", hardly makes the guy seem like -
let's resolve the "0" after your name issue
joeythep replied to akishore's topic in General Poker Forum
I signed up at Pokerroom a year and a half ago, under the name joeythep. When I signed up for Power Player, it told me joeythep was taken, so i went with jupiterdixx. When i tried to sign up for FCP as jupiterdixx, it told me the name was taken. i MEANT to sign up as joeythep313 but (out of habit, as it's the most common SN i use) I forgot the 313. So, I'm joeythep0. oh well. I voted yes, cause i would prefer joeythepFCP, but I did so knowing full well, that it isn't gonna change. I saw a guy on PR one time whose friend created his account for him, and used a racial obscenity as a joke for -
It's not a SCAM, it's called a PROMOTION. As nice a guy as daniel seems to be, the whole protege thing is indeed, intended TO GET PEOPLE TO PLAY ON THE SITE!McDonald's Monopoly...They want you to buy more big macs. Pepsi's Billion Dollar giveaway?...A clever ploy to sell caffeinated, watered down, carmel colored corn syrup. (EDIT: I forgot to mention "carbonated")Remember when Coke put Cash IN THE CANS?... They wanted u to buy more coke. It's not a scam, it's Marketing.

I've been on here a year, and visit the site EVERY day, and I just realized last night that i have less than 200 posts. I suck.

THis may not be EXACTLY correct, but I've played hundreds of tournies on PR and Powerplayer, so it goes something like this, with blind increases every 12 min. being the standard...10-2015-3025-5050-10075-150100-200150-300200-400300-600400-800500-1000600-1200800-16001000-20001200-24001500-30002000-40002500-50003000-60004000-8000I've been to quite a few final tables, but I don't remember the exact structure once it gets that high. I don't think I've ever seen it above the 4000-8000 mark even when I've gotten heads up, though. But most of the tourney's I've been successful at have had fewer tha
