I think you did great. Like someone else said it would have been a crap shoot.

This is the FIRST hand of the tournament.... I think I'm gonna do well with this starting hand. What the HELL was this person thinking?***** Hand History for Game 2230474778 *****15/30 TourneyTexasHTGameTable (NL) (Tournament 13227101) - Sun Jun 19 10:30:14 EDT 2005Table $10,000 Guaranteed(368692) Table 35 (Real Money) -- Seat 5 is the buttonTotal number of players : 10Seat 1: Marco300 (1000)Seat 2: Age_oF_FoOLz (1000)Seat 3: Stwrtfn (1000)Seat 4: Buffy_S (1000)Seat 5: tami44 (1000)Seat 6: MJakkson (1000)Seat 7: Perikles27 (1000)Seat 8: nicolae111 (1000)Seat 9: Nutsmacker (1000)Seat 10: Nicks

Not that anyone asked but I don't think we should vote on it. Then there's too much of "vote for me since we're buddies".

Pretty impressive. I didn't know he'd done that well after the WSOP.

Have you ever heard of the word tact? My memory may not be great on this particular hand but overall my memory is great. You don't have to be so damned rude to people. But if that's the way you are and don't care about others then so be it.I understand he had more chips than Raymer. But if Raymer calls his all in you don't think that would have really hurt his stack and ability to continue to push people around? What was his hand 3-5h? So if I'm not EXACT then your opinion is I shouldn't be able to speak about it?
-
I'm not really disagreeing with you. There may be some hands you're thinking of where he got real lucky. But one hand cme to mind to me. When he was just moved to Raymer's table. If I remember right he bet on either the flop or the turn, Raymer rasied and Murphy went all in with something like 3-6. I think he had a heart draw or something. I would have loved to have known his thought process duringthat hand. I mean was it as easy as "I'm chancing my whole tournament on Raymer not catching and me showing everyone that WON'T push me around?"

I think being a "superpower" and having our troops all over the world makes it easy for many Americans to feel we're above others. When I was one of those troops all over I would say to myself and friends that I would not like it at all if there were other troops in our country. Wouldn't that be a weird feeling? So I understand other peoples thinking. But I don't think it's right to gerneralize us as all being that way.

I asked th edealers at The Horseshoe in Tunica after the 2004 WPO how much Barry Greenstein tipped after he won. They said 50k. He won a little more than a million in that 1.

That was an absolute classic with him and Thunder.

In another thread Harry made "5 nicest". I think he's a great guy..... I exchanged PM's talking about how when raising my son I think of molding him in the likes of Harry because he's so nice. I only said in my initial response was to not think of us all being bad people. I don't think he thinks that.... I just wanted him to know that I didn't really agree with the "Americans being Americans" comment.

Those are some good ones as well.

You must be a closet Canadian.Nah....I think I've lived (or at least gone on extended visits) about everywhere. Australia, Italy, Illinois, Florida, Oregon, Tennessee, Arizona to name a few. I think I have a good will towards others because of the way I was raised and the fact that I was in the USAF for 6 years and had people look down on me every place I went.

Good call. I'm bumping Seidel for him.Wow, I can't believe I forgot about RW. I sat next to him at a WPO tourney this year. He acted like he was my best friend and I'd never met him before that day. Then again he did crack my aces with 5-9 d

When I saw this thread I thought of my 5 before it showed the OP 5. They were almost the same. I had Demetrieu instead of Seidel.
-
Patrick, You're being so vague almost like you'll try to avoid him. jk
-
I didn't really take offense to it. I was just letting you know that I didn't agree with you at all.Just because I think he's a pretty cool guy doesn't mean you have to like him. I'd say that if I was able to hang out with any player for a day Gordon would be a top 5ver.

Phil Gordon has been thought of as one of the nicest pro's out there. I remember reading about a guy who went into a 25max NL and had built his stack to about 600. He said Phil Gordon came in there and wished him luck (as well as J Harmon J Juanda etc)But that's not what you're talking about right? You're saying he can't play, unless I'm not understanding your post. Here's the stats I came up with when doing 30 seconds of research :12-Jun-05 $ 2,000 Pot Limit Hold'em36th World Series of Poker (WSOP) 2005, Las Vegas 27th $ 4,970 08-Jun-05 $ 1,000 No Limit Hold'em36th World Series o

That sounds like many diappointment so far. It seems like you've adapted and overcome by the way you appear to be playing. Congrats.I have spent quite a bit of time outside America and I can appreciate feeling neglected with the address problem. I do wish you'd reconsider the "Americans being Americans" part. Maybe you've received the cold shoulder when it comes to your concerns in the past. I do my best to always treat others better than I expect them to treat me in return. Good luckRobert

When somone said it was Phil Gordon that really surprised me. I've seen him get screwed over and still act like a gentleman. He's a class act.
-
I look at that just like when you read about someone like The Dave Matthews band making 50 million last year. I think Hellmuth may have made 20 million. Minus agents, publishers, taxes, worker bee's, etc. He probably got like 50 grand and all the free coffee he can drink from "Java World".That was for the Seinfeld lovers. He probably made millions but a lot less than 20 mil.

For the average joe, $5 (minimum). For Antonio "The Assclown" Esfandiari, $20 (minimum).I agree

Are you saying that b/c of the structures? It's the only online account I have right now. Which site do you think has the best tournaments?Come on the blind structures are insane. Pokerstars is what a lot of people like. The PP ones I play are either starting with 1000 15 min blinds or 1500 20 min blinds.I wish they were more like 30 min + blinds. Are they like that on PS?
