I did the same thing yesterday. I was feeding my 2 month old daughter and folded AJ. Flop = AAJ.After all the drinking I did in my 20's I still have 3 brain cells left.

They have come down some. I've seen them as cheap as 360 new from Dell. Still not cheap. I might be able to help you out on this.

I do by dispatching concrete.

So are you one of those people that won't explain themselves unless you're served with a subpoena?I guess all I was trying to say was (1) I'm impressed with people's ability to lay down huge hands PF (2) for me the size of the buy in would have some bearing on my decision making.

I realize a 10k buy in is much more than a 300 buy in on the internet. But if you have 3 million in the bank and I have 100 is there a difference in what 50 dollars means to each of us?But anyway I agree it's totally different. But I was still blown away at how fast little nickey folded.

I agree with what Royal Tour was saying. If you play in 300 buy ins daily then you might say "screw the small possiblity that he has AA" and go all in. If you normally play in smaller ones then it might be different.Just last night I was playing in a 5$ 3 table SNG and I had 3500 in chips with pretty small blinds and I CALLED a 1000 all in bet with 4-5h. I was bored and when I won the hand I told the others it was a misclick. I agree I can be pathetic. I think it's great that someone can be that confident in their reads to be able to lay down KK. I was blown away when little nickey layed down

Yes, The Rack is still there although I havn't walked in the doors there in years. There were some awesome games to sweat back then. The owner (Don Samples) was so cool. He kind of took me under his wing (as well as another guy) I learned so much from them. Don is in a wheelchair now... he kicked a guy out and the guy came back and shot him 4 times. (before my time)There were some awesome players that basically lived there. James Christopher, Al Orear, Phillip Powers and Danny Cook. If you watch the very end of the 2003 WSOP ME you see Danny saying congrats to C Moneymaker. The guy that ran al -

Who's More Interesting Pool Or Poker Players?

The first decent sized tournament I played in was at The Wagon Wheel in College Park Georgia. I think Keith McCready came in 2nd.My friend and I drove all night from Memphis, signed up and there were 256 people in the tourney and we drew each other in the first round!! -

I know what you mean. I'm in Memphis and before the casinos came around (early 90's) there was a lot of action. It has since almost completely dried up. There was a local guy that owned a crappy pool room who subsidized by dealing coke. He loved to gambooooool it up. I would watch him play 10K games of one pocket for hours and hours. He said he loved the rush of gambling. For a bigger rush he would burglarize homes. Someone asked him why he would do that when he was loaded. His response was something like this "You have no idea what a rush it is when you're in someones house not knowing if you' -
I was really into pool about 15-20 years ago and think pool and poker players are very similar.I was going to respond to the SNG thread with this but maybe it needs a thread of its own.A damn good pool player about 20 years ago named Jimmy "pretty boy floyd" Mataya (his ex-wife is Ewa) had a funny sotry. This was in the 70's in Detroit. There were some HUGE games and always action up there. He said he went broke many times and he liked to do it a certain way. When he was down to his last 100 he'd go to a nice place to eat. Order the most expensive steak and nice bottle of wine. He said whatever

No, I wasn't saying that. I was saying play smart not necessarily tight tho. I mean see who's doing what and go from there. If you're in mid or late position and the only people left are people that play pretty tight then raise it with mediocre hands. That can backfire when you try to push em off the flop and they raise you. I agree I don't make total sense but I do have a method to my madness. Maybe my hidden method is to ulimatly go broke.

RT - I'm a little slow so I'm confused. I mentioned making moves early. Were you saying you agreed or disagreed with me?The reason I play SNG's is because I like tournament formats MUCH better than cash games. I cut my teeth so to speak in live tournaments. So I've become accustomed to that way of playing. I seem to be a big donk at online cash games. So I stick with what I think I'll have success at.I'm also, like many, very busy with my regular old life, a slew of kids and a fairly demanding job. So sometimes I've got very limited time. Turbos allow me to get it going and have some fun.Last n

Congrats Adam....Make sure to do somehting wise with some of the cash. Like buying my son a PSP :)J/K - congrats!Rent this raft for a week

Make your moves early. Up until a few weeks ago I wouldn't touch a Turbo SNG. But since I'm always pressed for time I'll play em from time to time. Turns out I've won more of those than reg SNG's.My guess is other peoples tightness and knowing when to steal. The way I look at it the better I steal the easier it is to lay down a marginal hand when need be.

That was about the nicest way it could be said. -
I would but all I would hear is about how bad my grammer and stuff iz. :)But if I was to write a blog I would brag about winning 4 SNG's in a row this weekend (5$ ones).I got 41st in a tourney that paid 40. Then I got 30th in a 5$ entry with about 800 and I got 17 bucks. I still managed to lose 200$. All on SNG's and MTT's. It was all a daze... Basically I'm a donk who gets lucky sometimes.

Well the NL cash games have been pretty good for a while down there. There are tourneys at The Shoe on Monday and Thursday night. 65 entry for 800 in chips. Unlimited rebuys for an hour and a halk. Then you can do a single add on (40 for 800 more) or a double add on (80 for 1600). They also have one on Sat and Sunday. I think it's about 130 entry with one add on for 100. 1-800-363-7463The Grand changes their tourneys about every month. They usually have one going every day. 1-800-346-4346.The Gold Strike has em pretty often as well. 1-662-357-1111If you have any specific questions let me know.
