  1. Just finished watching this on TIVO, and boy, has my opinion of Scotty ever done a complete 180. He displayed a total lack of respect to the staff, the other players, the game, himself, and of course to Chip Reese's memory. His blantant chip dump to E-Dog, followed up by his attempt at collusion should have gotten him a couple of penalties, at the least. On the flip side of the coin, my opinion of Erick Lindgren just keeps rising (I'm sure I've totally made his day now ). A total class act, you could see how touched he was during Doyle's opening words about Chip, and he tried very very hard
  2. I'm no pro or SNG specialist, but I couldn't agree more here. With just 10 BB left, I feel like you're going to get a lot of light calls from the KJ-A9 range of other players, not to mention probably any PP will call you where you're a dominant favorite. I shove in and let them make the decision. But it depends if you're trying to cash or trying to win, I guess.
  3. I love it when people post to announce they are leaving a message board. You're not Michael Jordan or Brett Favre. We don't care that you're choosing to retire.I was here for the Smash "I'm leaving, I'm back, I'm leaving, I'm back" days and I got a kick out of those too. So to quote the great man that came and went and came and went again.....Good luck.
  4. Nice, slid in with a tie for 16th. I'll take that. I already have an FCP hat from a different contest. Anyone want to buy the rights to mine? Or are there any other prizes on offer? =)Thanks to all the guys who made this possible...great contest!!
  5. I didn't even realize it was troyomac...it makes it even better!
  6. 20 minutes ago | Posted by shorton Not Even Going to CheckOmaha-8Preflop, Raymond McClure limps in from middle position and Phil Hellmuth raises from late position. Raymond calls. The flop is Ad Qd Qh . McClure checks and Hellmuth bets. McClure calls. The turn is 8c and both check. The river is 9c and McClure open-folds, not even checking. "If you beat 7 high, you win," he says. Hellmuth shows and wins the pot.
  7. GL DN...although I can't help noticing he needs to get 9th place for just about break even for the tourney, lol
  8. Your c/r effectively committed you, so i think you either flat call or shove (or fold). Villain showed agression pre and post flop, so my guess is you lost to either an overpair or something like AdQx.
  9. Exactly. FWIW, I don't dislike your call on the flop at all. You could easily be calling to bluff at the turn, or check fold if you miss. I love people at the poker table who want to tell me how to play the game...it's your money, not his. How you choose to play with it is entirely up to you.
  10. I've picked Hennigan in every single pool before this one but neglected to pick him this year. Bob, watch for a PM to alter my picks, if possible....Johnny World, ftw!
  11. Being that the list isn't super heavy on Hold Em events, I tried to go with the best all around players. I guess my non-standard pick was JC Tran.My list:SeidelNegreanuTranForrestHansenLindgrenCunninghamIveyBenyamineGreenstein
  12. The most relavant sports analogy I can think of is playing the first 3 rounds of the Masters in April then having the Top 10 come back to play the final round in July. It lets them regroup and refocus. Bad idea that is hopefully not going to gain any traction.
  13. What I was saying is I find this to be a negative aspect b/c it prevents me from watching the FT on PPV, as I have done in the 2 previous years. Now, because there is no PPV telecast, I cannot watch it.
  14. This idea sucks for a few reasons, number one being that I can't stay up all night and watch the PPV telecast and then go to work on zero hours sleep. But what really bothers me is the fact that they're taking the stamina and mental aspect out of the game. When you get to the FT, you're in a zone b/c you've been playing for days and you've established your style and rhythm. This throws all of that out the window, IMO.I don't like the idea of selling out a long tradition for the benefit of TV networks and sponsors.
  15. I call, but I'm a loose bad player. Smells kind of like J10, but I suppose could just as easily be K10
  16. Did the SB fold??I put the re-raiser on a flopped set who's trying to push out the straight and flushes. 33 or 44. I think I'd fold though.
  17. I think what annoys me the most is that his schtick is the exact same as Phil Laak's. What's with calling everyone Dr?BTW, how did I get so lucky? How did I get into this game? I'm about to be broke, I'm going back to the furniture business, etc, etc.
  18. Contest open to charter members only, obvIn all sincerity, I think this is a really neat thing, good job FCP
  19. Navy-I'll take Patriots to score the shortest field goal and NYG to use first coaches challenge, $10 apiece.**DISCLAIMER*** I am flying to the UK tomorrow night (will actually miss the game) to attend my grandfather's funeral. I won't be back till next Sunday. I'm definitely good for the money...let me know if we're doing it on Stars or UB. Let me know if it's booked or not.
  20. Out in 113th....AQ<Q6 on a QJ6 board....time to take out my agressions on the HU tables.TID blufferdave!!
  21. feeling pretty good....mucked JJ on an 894 board to a raise....I'd raised preflop, he reraised, i called. I bet out on the flop, he raised, i mucked, he showed QQ
