It made me feel better about the weak slashing call on the Pens, at least. Reffing was horrible.

I got a lot of faith in Sullivan, and it seems he was right. I think it was more of a tactic to shake the team up, rather than to punish Fleury, but I dunno. It's nice to be able to sit your Stanley Cup winning goaltender to bring in your other Stanley Cup goaltender, though.

The report is that it's Murray, not Fleury. http://www.nydailyne...ticle-1.3179550 Which I understand, if you're trying to spark the team and he DID win a Cup last year, but benching the guy who is arguably the team's leading candidate for the Conn Smythe after one off game seems a bit...Pittsburgh-y.

I'm almost as happy about this, as I am about last night's win! He'll be in the front office doing marketing or something, though.

I know Fehr is more comfortable as a center, and wasn't comfortable as much playing wing. The guy recently scored 20 goals and is only 31, so I think he can be a decent player still for Toronto. He just wasn't used optimally in Pittsburgh, and the coaches didn't have a lot of confidence in him. I know nothing about Corrado, though.

My heart can't take much more of this....whew.

Yeah, I wish we could have at least got him trashed, at the very least.

I was dealing blackjack and had a few guys at my table that looked vaguely familiar. They were all bearded, friendly, and one had a cut on his eyebrow. 2 of them played at my table for a while, and I paid attention to things they said, like how they played at this one casino in St Louis. I casually asked where they were from - they replied California. I said, "Ah - here for the game? Good luck, but not TOO much, of course..." They laughed, and kept playing. They later mentioned something about Minnesota, and showed disdain for the casino chips that had the Pens logo on them. As they co

Stamkos warming up before the game...

Dubey can take over for any overconfident predictions Anytime Pittsburgh fans get cocky, they soon regret it, so I'm just gonna hope the big names show up, and the rest of the team keeps up the standard they've set. I'm gonna lose a few pounds of flop sweat, though.

I'm comfortable with whatever decision is made in goal, for one of the first times in a long time. If Fleury can provide a pop, all the better, since the team needed a boost after the first 2 periods of the last game. Pittsburgh fans usually have an above-average love for the back-up, whether it's at QB or in goal, but this is one of the legitimately tough decisions a Pittsburgh team has had to make in that regard in a while. Just no Zatkoff, please.
-
I like it. I think it was a tough choice, made easier by a bad outing with a few weak goals in the last few games. The team responded well to the change, and it isn't like Fleury was sitting because he sucked.

I'm still in awe we got Daley for Scuderi.

My guess is we'll see Sundqvist...I hope...

What happened to Fehr, though? Seems he's questionable for tonight.

I had to pause the game to take a phone call, so i was a bit behind. When the score was 3-2 with 11 seconds left, and I was tense as hell, she looked at her phone and said, "I know what the final score is, but I won't tell you." I looked at her, then fast forwarded through the rest of the game since it was pretty obvious that the game didn't go into OT. She doesn't get sports, or fans, and now she's mad at me for getting pissy about ruining the ending. Great result, but a bit anti-climactic, here.

They said earlier that the NHL deems .8 seconds the "late" threshold, so with that,Letang's star-status, and Johansson coming back, my guess is 1 game at most. I wouldn't be surprised if there's just a fine, though. *edit* and Doc just changed that number to .6, for what it's worth.
