  1. I'd sure like to know what's up with Theodore since he's on my fantasy team and I haven't been able to play him lately for fear of ginormous G.A.A's. I have Kovalev, too, but he at least throws an assist out there every now and then.Theodore has been my darh horse goalie pick for a few years now, so I hate to dump him.

I totally agree with the Rangers comparison. Around December, I was telling my friends that we became the Rangers. And no doubt Fleury is a franchise goalie. He has the ability to make a key save to completely change the game's momentum. Of course, the Pens still need to capitilize on it. Did anyone see the diving save he made on Jagr in the Pens/Rangers game a few days ago? That's the type of play he can make that I haven't seen in a long time. And I miss Kasparitis. A lot. THAT'S the type of player the Pens need. A good defensive defenseman that can piss off the other team and make the

So far, I'm happy with Ryan Whitney on defense. He's young but hasn't been sent down since he cracked the line-up.The Pens and Pirates have been repeating over and over that they have young talent, that they'll turn the corner next year, and good things are soon to happen. Pens fans thought that with Fleury, Malkin (at the time, we thought he was coming THIS year), Malone, Crosby, and all the veteran free agents that we were in Cup contention. And look how it turned out - the most disappointing year in all my years of watching. Sure, I've cheered for worse line-ups, but I didn't expect as
  4. You sound like me, as a Pens fan, around 2002 or so.
  5. I listened to it on the radio - him waving the Terrible Towel is just awesome. :-) He definitely knew what the fans want to see.
  6. I've attended half the home games, so far, and it's been the usual amount for the crowd. Thank Crosby for that, it seems.
  7. And from what I've seen, the Pens have been regularly getting standing room-only crowds of over 17,000. There are more fans attending now then there were at the beginning of the season.
  8. Yeah, I was there too. I was the dude in the blue USA Hockey jersey in B-15 because I was protesting. I refuse to wear my Pens jersey. Soon, I might refuse to actually attend, but I'm not there...yet. This blows.
  9. What a couple of days this has been.Girlfriend broke up with me, Palffy retires, Pens are for sale...what's next? At least I'm doing well in 7 card stud, a game I just picked up a week or so ago.
  10. This year, except for getting Crosby, sucks as a Pens fan.Mario talked a little about Therrien's rant, but tried to stay neutral on it. He said something about understanding his frustration and how losing was tough on everyone. That's about all I heard, though. At least Fleury's going to get his bonus.
  11. Fox Sports Pittsburgh had commentator Bob Errey in the same area for a game a few days ago. I was actually AT the game, so I never saw it on tv.
  12. Unfortunately. I left when it was just 1-0, and when I came back, it was 3-1. The lesson?Never leave. Ever.
  13. original thought is so rare on this forum, i almost didn't recognize it.well that's not really fair, since the NHL is one of the only forums where there's a few smart guys who regularly have good conversations. still, an excellent point.Thank you
  14. You know, the experts were all talking about how Ovechkin and Crosby are this era's Gretzky and Lemieux. By the 2 posts above this one, it looks like they were right since this argument is starting to sound awfully familiar.
  15. I think the game counts as long as he plays at least 20 minutes of it, so him not starting is not because of finances. The reason why he didn't start was because he's got to be tired. He started last night's game vs. Edmonton. Before that, he had to come in as relief during the 2nd game vs. Atlanta. Just the day before THAT, he was the starting goaltender for the first game in the Atlanta series. The poor kid can't get a break. Sabourin, the AHL's best goalie, stat-wise, was just called up along with Caron since Thibault might be out for the season. He just had a bad goal early and was ra
  16. They have a couple, but they're still too young to be effective. Melichar is the closest thing they have to a defensive defenseman right now. Orpik likes to hit everything that moves, but he took a puck in the foot 2 weeks ago. He ought to be back soon, though.
  17. I just came back a bit ago from this game. Piss poor - they had no energy, nothing. I agree that he shouldn't have made his feelings public, though.
  18. Why are we bringing the term "americanized" into this? He's a young punk from Russia. I also doubt european-style hockey has anything to do with this, either. For the record, I have season tickets to Penguin games. I think it was classless for Kovalchuk to point to Crosby, and he should've been assessed a double minor. Crosby's young and full of passion for the game, and cares too much to the point where he gets labeled as a whiner, when he's just not reigning in his emotions enough. He's not whining - he's competitive and lets the refs know when he feels he isn't getting the benefit of a
