  1. when they call with 7-3 soooooooooooooooooooooted against a guy who spent 3 hours folding every hand.
Do you really think they have any clue that you've been folding every hand for the last 3 hours? That's one of the biggest mistakes people make especially in online poker. People unless your opponents are good, or you've pushed all-in 5 straight times, assume that the other people at your table have absolutely no clue if you've folded the last 100 hands or have seen 80% of the flops.
  2. 84x13k = 1,092,000 chips in play1092000/59 = 18,508 average chips to take a seat.I have double the amount of chips needed for a seat at this point, with 25 players that need to get knocked out, with the average M of the bottom 25 players probably at around 1.5.Is it really such a stretch to think that I could sit on an M of around 7 at this point, and wait for 25 players with an average M of 1.5? I don't think the term 'idiots' is really justifiable, because it's certainly not a definitavely clear-cut situation, unless you can demonstrably justify why you are so certainly correct.
The problem with this is that with your M still less than 10 you have to see what's going to happen to it if you sit out and it decreases compared the smaller stacks increasing. It looks like you may have been able to make it in this instance by just folding every hand but it's not definite. On the other hand, if you put your money in as an 80% favorite, and win then you can definitely fold every hand and make the money 99.9% of the time. And as for the Lindgeren comment, he's talking about on the actual bubble. Not 30 people away from it. If you're less than 5 spots away from the money then this is a clear fold. At this spot I don't think you're wrong no matter what decision you make.
  3. Whats the saltines trick??? I dont get it.....
Try eating 10 Saltines in 60 seconds and see if you can do it. Some people can, but on over 90% of the people after the 3rd one all the saliva from your mouth is gone, making it extremely hard to eat
  4. I was also glad to hear they upped the starting stack, although I'd rather just have them put the 2 levels back in.The thing about those daily tourneys is, there's no difference between 20th and 11th in the pay scale. So when you get in the money I always tend to get real aggressive and figure I'm either getting a stack I can do something with at the final table, or I'm going to the cash games

  5. This is actually an option that if used correctly could help someone who struggles with Bankroll management, or if you're like me, with 3 am Drunken Donkfests for 80% of your bankroll. I know if they had that option and I used it a month ago I wouldn't have sat 5-10 NL at 3:00 am after 6 martinis

  6. Foxwoods runs a daily 10 am tournament where the structure is truly awful. 2,000 in starting chips, 25-50 blinds to start and the killer is only 20 minute levels. Unfortunately AC is too far so it's essentially the only live tourney option for me. Now half the field is full of donks who think that they're on TV and like to posture for a few minutes before making a decision. If it's a cash game take as long as you want, but in a tournament, your "thinking" is directly affecting me as I'm getting less hands in as the other tables, and have less of a chance to aquire the chips I desperately need before the levels increase and leave my M below 10. So my question is, when is it ok to call a clock on a player? If you've already folded from the hand is it alright, or should you just suffer the consequences of a slow player? The situation that arose was this, 5 hands into the tournament and Villain has already had at least a minute delay twice. Once preflop before he folded an unopened pot, and once on the flop before he checked and then folded to a bet: UTG raised to 150, and the next 4 people called. A series of folds, including me, and then the button calls, and the 2 blinds completed, so they took the flop 7 handed. Flop comes K-7-4 rainbow, and it's checked to the villain who is now acting 2nd to last. He thinks for a good 3 minutes before leading out for about 1000( over half his stack ). The BB check raises him all-in for about 600 more, which will leave him short but not busted. He goes into the tank for another 3 minutes, and shows no sign of making a decision so I call the clock on him. He shoots me a death stare, and then mucks his hand. I was at the end of a 20 hour session so I couldn't have cared less at the time, but I'm just curious as to whether I was horribly out of line. We had spent over a quarter of the level on one hand, and this guy seemed to think every decision was life or death.

  7. Am I the only one who was praying that Huck Seed called for the clock, when he was trying to get the producer to answer him. That would have been phenomenal to see that blow up. Also a quick question I've never watched Poker after dark. I thought they were playing a tournament but they had Cash behind them, can anyone explain why?

  8. If this has been discussed please link to it, and I'll read to my heart's content. But when I search "Las Vegas" it comes back with too many topics. And when I search Las Vegas Trips, I get trip reportsFocus:I'm planning on taking a trip to Vegas. I have some open vacation time that I can take, pretty much any time. I'd like to go out there when it's not real expensive and not completely packed. I imagine I have to go mid-week to get the cheapest hotel rates which is fine, but any tips people can give me as to get the cheapest rates possible, or room upgrades. Along with tickets to shows or anything like that

  9. Right now there is 2500 players in this, needs to be at least 5000 otherwise theres overlay. I think im doing it, has anyone here ever done this and had there been an overlay, or does everyone just register in the last 30 minutes or something.
I doubt there will be an overlay. Half the people that get knocked out of the PCA are probably planning on playing this. Look for a lot of sign ups late
  10. Not neccessarily collusion, his Poker DB makes it look like he's someone with money to burn online at least as far as tourneys are concerned (who knows maybe he kills the cash games) Also occasionally I'll make a steal attempt and then click the fold to any bet button. Because I know if anyone plays back at me I don't want to be in the hand. I don't think someone would do this at the final table of the Stars Million but it is a possibility. I didn't watch the hand so I have no idea whether he thought about it before mucking or if it was basically an insta-fold. But it's most likely that this was either a poor decision or just a mistake (be it mis-click or checking the fold to any bet) than it is collusion

  11. I mean i realize she is his friend but come on. My god! i am not sure loyalty would be the term. He is obsessed! If you say a negative comment about her he jumps down your throat. Then he makes it out like she is the God of poker. I love after he read SUper System 2 all he talked about was Jennifer's part in it with limit holdem which in my opinion was not bad but there were far better parts to that book. In another circumstance someone made a comment about Jennifer and several other women forming an alliance. Right away he pops on saying you don't know Jennifer if you think that. Forget about Evelyn I guess he just threw her right under the bus. But Jeniifer is morally perfect and seems to have no flaws. There has to be something I am missing. there has to be more than meets the eye. I mean even on two plus two they were saying that it is out of control and hysterical.
Where, When, How? Is there a specific instance you're talking about?
  12. This trip report doesn't have much to do with poker, but there was at least one cool hand that I'll write about. We got a poker game going that night, but Derek didn't want to play. He was just sitting on the couch, texting his girlfriend, actually thinking he was going to hit that someday. We're playing stud when this hand came up. I'm dealt 2-8-K, 2nd oldest brother (Greg) has an Ace showing, and Keith has a 9 showing. Greg bets, Keith calls, I raise, and both call. Next card gives me nothing, Greg nothing, and Keith pairs his 9. Doesn't matter, Keith bets and I'm raising again and both call. Next card again is nothing much for anyone and I'm still raising, finally getting Greg to fold. Derek comes over as the next cards are dealt and takes a look at Keith's cards. More blanks and he's telling Keith to raise me. Keith mentions that I've been raising on every card, so Derek tells him to just call then. We get to the last card and Keith bets out and I of course raise with absolutely nothing. Derek tells Keith to raise, so he tentatively does, but I immediately raise him again. Keith acts like he doesn't know what to do and Greg and even Sam are telling him he has to call, while Keith says he knows he's beat. They say they know he's beat too, but he still has to call. Finally Derek says, you know you're beat, just fold, and he does. Derek grabs my cards and turns them over and they all see I had nothing the whole time. I don't even care that he did that and Derek is amused. Now he decides he's going to sit down and play some cards and we're brothers again I guess.
Allow me to be the one to call BULLSHIT.I stopped reading after I read this, instead of lying about something like this why didn't you say "that night we all watched Cool Hand Luke"???For those of you who don't know what I'm talking about this exact scene happens in the movie
