As you say easy fold. I think this may be a boat made on the turn or river, I think your hand looks a lot like the flush and he doesn't seem scared of it, or he has a high flush. Meh, I think boat 99922. I don't know what flush hand makes that move on the flop?Edit: Any specifics on villan?Really weird hand from today's session. I probably should have folded the flop but he had already check raised the flop a few times, giving me the notion that he was doing it with air (perhaps I'm wrong and should have just folded because my equity against flush draws isn't even that good and most of the deck will be scare cards). Regardless, once he checked river, I decided to turn my hand into a bluff because I didn't think he'd check a big hand and didn't want to lose to some random 9x or Jx hand. Thoughts on what he could have here? All that seems to make sense is like 66/22. Note that it's only about 180 to call so there really should be no sense of fold equity from his perspective.POKERSTARS GAME #664011471000631: HOLD'EM NO LIMIT ($3/$6) - 2008/10/25 - 16:30:21 (ET)Table 'Cake_ Leeds (6-max) 11471' Seat #10 is the buttonSeat 1: Dons*** ($343.40 in chips)Seat 2: gna1*** ($935.25 in chips)Seat 3: Just*** ($235.85 in chips)Seat 8: Thor*** ($787.15 in chips)Seat 9: TheD*** ($1,210.05 in chips)Seat 10: SteamySammy ($597.00 in chips)Dons***: posts small blind $3gna1***: posts big blind $6*** HOLE CARDS ***Dealt to SteamySammy [6c 8c]Just***: foldsThor***: foldsTheD***: raises $15.00 to $21.00SteamySammy: calls $21.00Dons***: foldsgna1***: calls $15.00*** FLOP *** [6d 2d 2s]gna1***: checksTheD***: checksSteamySammy: bets $42.00gna1***: raises $98.00 to $140.00TheD***: foldsSteamySammy: calls $98.00*** TURN *** [6d 2d 2s] [Jc]gna1***: checksSteamySammy: checks*** RIVER *** [6d 2d 2s Jc] [9d]gna1***: checksSteamySammy: bets $255.00gna1***: raises $519.25 to $774.25 and is all-inSteamySammy? -
I do all of what you mentioned. Right now I have music on, full bottle of water, phone is on silent, bowels are empty, i'm perfectly awake and i'm focusing on the task at hand.EDIT: (and i'm still probably going to drop in a buy in or 5 )Lets talk about presession preperations. How many of you make sure that your not hungry, have to pee, in a good mindset before you play? Does everyone have something to drink next to them while they play? Who else likes to put in a quick 15min work out session before they play?Sometimes I feel like I build myself up a little too much before a session, like it's some big event. -

Die in a gigantic fire?Fair enough.Everyone has different poker priorities and I think that it's probably never a good idea to try and impose your priorities upon someone else, especially when they're playing a different game and for different reasons.Oh, and Tremomey sustains a 15-20PTBB/100 winrate at HU, so he can DIAGF -

This thread has actually got pretty good if you keep reading. R-dizzle is making a lot of good points, I am really finding it useful personally.

His only likely sets are JJ and AA, and I hold the other ace. I don't think he every has AJ here.I have to agree with this because of his PF raise. He could have a set or 2 pair. -
First time i've seen you post in a while?ever heard of a private message??///????????????/? -
Not all, but all the ones that really matter are. With the 60 day trial are all the features available? Not that it matters since I've never used PT, but have been told quite a few times that it is a very good tool to use. -
Damn I was thinking of another hand. But my question is the same how do/can we get more value?funniest looking top two pair I've ever seen -
My god that is such a good post. So SO true, at least for me.RDog, what are your interests outside of poker? and has the money from poker changed your lifestyle and/or people perception of you? Thanks.I think all of them are capable of it if they want to. Not sure who wants to do that or who just wants to make some extra money on the side. Here is the thing with poker. And this is just a general statement and not necessarily related to any of our students. For the most part if someone is willing to put in the work, do the right things bankroll wise, get help from the right people and stay disciplined, just about anyone could make a decent amount of money playing this game. The problem is a ton of people say they are willing to do those things but what they really want is some magical wand that turns them into a good poker player with little or no work. It simply doesn't exist. You must work hard at this game. You must play focused and put yourself into a situation to succeed by not having a ton of other distractions while you are playing. There are a lot of people that say this and that about what they want to do in this game then while they are playing they are talking on instant messenger the entire time, talking on the phone, watching tv, etc and especially during your growth periods, that environment will not be conducive to becoming a good thinking player. If someone is willing to do all that, I am 100% confident I (or any decent coach) can make them a winning player at the lower levels. -
Is this because we're only going to get called by hands that beat us?It's played fine. Don't raise the river. -

Amen. Ugly with the Q3 and 88 (not on your part obv).Funny how 100 hands can affect your day. alright, time to go blog...
Got a graph or any major hands?Looks like robusto will have to wait. -
I don't see how this can be a hand weaker than yours. I think anything but a set backs off to the filled up straight and flush draws on that river. I mean if you look at it in the way of 'what does he think I have' he has to atleast put you on some kind of ace.

Thanks Bull. I have a strat question:Villan is 20/17/5 over 70, loose, but is a winning player and had called quite a few of my 3-bets. This is a situation I find myself in all too often.PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $0.25 BB (5 handed) - Poker-Stars Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.comMP ($31.85)Button ($31.30)Hero (SB) ($38.15)BB ($7.25)UTG ($11.40)Preflop: Hero is SB with J, JUTG raises to $0.75, MP calls $0.75, 1 fold, Hero raises to $4, 2 folds, MP calls $3.25Flop: ($9) 10, 9, Q(2 players)Hero bets $6.50,What do we do if the turn bricks against different kinds of players? How about if the turn is an ace? Also, what do we put the villan on here? I can't think of a hand where it wouldn't be standard to atleast standard to see a turn?Hope this is some kind of decent contribution.

I did just browse before but I fully understand where you're coming from and I as I don't wish to drive the good guys out I'll slow down. I got a bit over enthusiastic. Apologies for lowering the tone. The thread looks so warm from the outside, but in reality it's bloody hard to get into. Does make sense though. What is worthy of a post by a noob in here?I'm actually not pissed, I was much more pissed when I ranted like a month ago. Yesterday didn't even really bother me much, it bothered Jeff and Rod much more than me. You can do whatever you want, I can't stop you from posting. Just throwing out some advice. And I'm far from referring only to you, but I will say that you came in here out of nowhere and pretty much trolled around and acted like everyone cared about everything you were doing when there were like 2400 pages worth of stuff before you even posted here once.Edit: I guess my point is when you've never posted in here, you don't have to start by posting 30 times a day IMO. -
Attn: All retarded posters that have popped up lately (the sad part is you might not know you you are), read more/post less here. You are driving away everyone from this thread that made it useful/helpful/unique. Lately they have been absent and you have been present. Easy math. TY
I get why you are pissed off, and I know full well you are referring to me, but the above attitude is what is killing the entire forum. I don't mind it myself, most people do.FWIW, I am trying to contribute the best I can to this thread.Glad to see someone else posted the "challenge thread is dead" update for this week so I didn't have to.To add to that, if you don't post here often and no one knows/cares who you are, updates on your daily non-poker life probably don't need to be posted either, nor do you random observations on anything that pops into your head. Also comments ripping on thread regulars when no one knows who you are with a afterwards probably aren't funny either. But maybe that one is just me. -
Think it can make you feel better, knowing that other people run bad too sometimes. Of course you should be sure it's variance and not just bad play...D'you chase ambulances as well?Pointless imo
