  2. so do you think I was correct in betting for information with my $10 bet off the flop? And, I sensed weakness in the other players so I fired another bullet at the river.
  3. I thought that playing middle pairs you needed multiway action for them to be profitable? That's why I limped. Yeah, but I should have reraised preflop. And I should have check called the flop depending on the price?

  5. In Sklansky's SSH, he talks about finding hidden outs. But he didnt really clarify how many outs you were supposed to add for a split pot possibility. For example, You Hold A 2 You suspect Your opponent holds: A 8 The board:A K 7 4 You have 3 outs to win (3 deuces) and 6 outs to tie (3 sevens and 3 fours)When calculating pot odds, do you count 9 outs (3 cards to win, and 6 for the split) or were you supposed to count the split pot outs differently? Thanks
  6. So, since the pot amount is given online, I have to divide that number by 40 to get the amount?
  7. This guy is my favorite player "the godfather of costa rican poker players"He was born in San Jose, Costa Rica in 1951. He currently resides in San Jose, Costa Rica, and is married, with 3 children.BackgroundHumberto began a career in gambling by playing baccarat but later made his way into poker, starting to play tournaments from 1974 onwards and became a regular tournament player and a professional in 1988.WinningsBrenes has won over $1.5 million in poker to date, and has done so through collecting 2 WSOP bracelets and regular money finishes (40 in his career) in WSOP and WPT tournaments.Som
  8. i'd like to marry evelyn ng, she's so hot.
  9. I think this is the best small stakes poker book ever written. It is awesome. After reading this a few times, and understanding the concepts you will start winning, and knowing why you are winning. It contains plenty of theory and tells you the correct way to play against novice no fold'em holdem $1-$2 stakes... It definitely works. I've showed instant profit.Actually, the first book i picked up was "holdem for advanced players" by sklansky. Big mistake, I should have read SSH first, for 2 reasons 1) i wasn't playing against advanced players, hence, the concepts wouldnt work 2) I don't even th
  10. Hey, recently I noticed that our home games are getting slow and boring. We usually play NL hold'em on fridays and saturdays and no one has the interest to play limit hold'em and everyone is too lazy to count the pot for pot limit hold'em. Anyways, is there any way we can make these games more exciting and faster paced?
  11. so if theres 100$ in the pot after the river with blinds 10/20, there are 5 big bets in the pot?
  12. so if the blinds are 10/20, and theres 100 in the pot at the river, theres 5 big bets in there? And say theres 40 after the flop and turn, if i divide by 2, i get 20, then i add this to amount in the pot after the turn and river to calculate the big bets?
  13. How do I add up pot bets. For instance, say the blinds are 10/20 and bets double at the turn. Is betting 10 on the flop considered a .5 bet or 1 bet? On the turn, when bets double, when i bet 20, is that 1 bet or 2 bets? Thanks
  14. What do you think the main difference is between north american players and international players such as asians, and europeans? How do their styles vary?
  15. yeah, i know about that, i was just wondering about basic poker math?
  16. I know the odds against hitting your flush with one card to come is about 4-1, but say I have the nut flush draw off the flop, and theres 40 in the pot, and my only opponent bets 10, i know i'm getting good odds to call, but what if I miss, and i plan on calling on the river? How do the pot odds change. If I call another $10 to see the river, i'll be getting 7-1 from the pot ($60 from last round and another $10 from him this round) in pot, is this right?Or am I really getting 3-1 here since I bet $20 on the flop and turn to see the next cards. Is this right? ($40 in pot+$20 from him +$20 fro
  17. I received a blank email from you guys today...why wasn't there anything on it?
  18. 5 players left in a home tournament, blinds are at 20/40. The CO raises to 4x the BB. Everyone folds to me in the BB, who holds Q Q in the BB. I reraise him nearly half his stack, since I have more than him at this point. He just cold calls the raise...he is a good aggressive player.I know he has a hand, I'm just not sure if its AK, or KK, or even AA. I figure that he's more likely to have something like AQs or AK, or AKs than AA or KK because he usually reraises with his hands. If not, he's making a great trap play on me.The flop comes: 9 8 4 I bet, he pushes all in. I call, since th
  19. I picked up this book not knowing it was a limit book. But can its concepts be applied to no-limit hold'em as well. Because its a good read. I read it, then the theory of poker, then i read holdem for advanced players again.Anyways, do you think the same concepts can be applied? Thanks

  22. wow, I didn't know people were so mean around here. It was just a simple question, that I was interested in knowing since I watched the online game where fossilman played too tight.
  23. Daniel, were you playing on pokerstars yesterday against the fossilman as "kid poker" because I was watching the game, and I was trying to figure out if it was you, or just some online wannabe? Thanks
