  1. my wife was extremely confused when i called him Q immediately upon seeing him. then i had to explain it. then she called me a nerd.
  2. They wire money to the casino or bring bellagio flags and cranberries. Bellagio chips are virtually a second form of currency in any major casino in the country.
  3. 1. Many of those ideas were proposed in various bills that weren't allowed to be debated or read on the floors because they were proposed by republicans. Several of them Obama himself said were worth considering. None of them were included in the final bill.2. They're not "my people" because we share some idealogical ground. I have a significantly more limited idea of what government should do than most people in either major party. 3. Most millionaires in america have never made more than 100k / year in their lives. There are a lot less people who can afford health care but prioritize
  4. Was there something specific I said that you wanted more detail on? I don't want to muddle this important thread up, but I can address ad nauseum any area you'd like. I agree 100%. It's the difference between health insurance reform and health care reform. What passed was health insurance reform in a way that has very little grounding in common sense or reality. What needs to happen is health care reform. Things like decentralizing care, standardizing medical information, forcing price transparency so the industry is required to actually compete on price, changes in the legal environment
  5. So wang can pay $XXX to be in the same boat he's in now for free, up until the point he gets sick and starts paying a lot more for an insurance policy that covers stuff he doesn't need to be covered for. I guess that's a good alternative.
  6. either you're a weird ass troll who showed up out of nowhere to a poker forum to celebrate this bill and you don't really deserve anyone's time or attentionor you're a regular poster too scared to post this on their primary account, already know there's a thread for this, and don't really deserve anyone's time or attention.sooo... which one is it?
  7. Well, luckily for you I guess, these type of plans will become illegal sometime tomorrow afternoon and you'll be required by law to buy one much more expensive or pay a fine. Feel free to stop reading here.
  8. you never snipe? steady aim pro is iron lungs, which is pretty crucial
  9. I guess I was looking at it from the perspective of could a tenure age professor transition to the private sector and easily make as much or more than they make as a professor, which I don't think is possible for the majority.
  10. I think that people in that position have the connections to get great jobs, but that's what, 100 people?
  11. yes... a law professor could easily get a job as a lawyer assuming he's still certified. On the other hand, I think very few management or marketing professors could get jobs as anything other than mildly successful consultants, if that.
  12. No offense, but I think you're greatly overestimating the value of those in academia to those in the private sector.
  13. Most 4 year universities aren't competing with each other on price, they're charging the highest price they can based on the demand for their school.
  14. cannot wait for the richard episode. it's about freaking time.
  15. The proposed reconciled changes don't do anything to address the main problems conservatives have with the bill, they just add additional stuff to it.If you put frosting and sprinkles on a bowl of razor blades, yes, i suppose you made it more appetizing, but it's still a ****ing bowl of razor blades.
  16. pretty much the same for both consoles i think, but it's a great game. worth a buy.
  17. this season is somehow boring to me. i can't put my finger on what it is.
  18. repeating this doesn't make it true sir. it's "budget neutral" based on unrealistic projections, providing 6 years of benefits paid for by 10 years of taxes, and cutting arbitrarily from medicare reimbursement rates (that are already so low that doctors won't see medicare patients) and calling it "cutting waste".
  19. I'd rather both houses agree on an identical, complete bill, so that everyone who votes for or against it can be held accountable for exactly the result. The 60 votes only happenned because of provisions equivalent to bribes that will be removed or modified during recociliation.
  20. Here's the thing about recociliation ... even obama was against it less than 2 years ago. Today on the radio they played a half dozen soundbytes of obama stressing that you both actually need and should need a true 60% majority to agree on something as big as healthcare legislation from his time as a senator and during the campaign.
  21. eh, regardless of who you have with you, one of the most relaxing times i've had in vegas was having a couple drinks on the bellagio fontana patio with zach, mrs. zach, cobalt and ahsun (sp?) overlooking the fountains.
  22. Love is done completley in the round, and the theatre isn't super tall, so there aren't horrible seats by any means. I liked 'O' better than love. Mystere is good too. #3 depends entirely on the purpose of your trip and the people you will have with you.
  23. At the time that episode aired, they were still planning on Eko being the end game locke character. That actor decided he didn't like hawaii and they rearranged the characters. Read it in an interview a while back.
