I'm Going To Beat Bob To The Punch....howard Lederer Talks...
Cruz replied to TrueAce13's topic in General Poker Forum
It's easy to select out tiny pieces of anyone's poker career and make them look bad. Your post isn't exactly a thorough analysis and certainly ignores the fact that she (despite her frailties and being disowned by her father for playing poker) had the chutzpah to grind away at the tables when few other women were doing so. Yes, and I like her too. -
I'm Going To Beat Bob To The Punch....howard Lederer Talks...
Cruz replied to TrueAce13's topic in General Poker Forum
One thing that I find kind of strange is that Chris Ferguson was the head honcho at FullTilt from the very beginning and somehow kept that real quiet. With all those commercials, it seems that he was in a real good position to market himself to the public. -
Actually I find Bobo Fett pretty exasperating to talk to. To some extent he is reasonable but he always pretends not to understand my points. He actually understands what I'm saying perfectly well but it's something he purposely does to most of my posts as a way of diffusing them. He has a long history of doing that to my posts. I think it's kind of childish really. It's absurd that they deleted your posts since anyone just noticing the topic is going to find it pretty hard to understand what the thread is about considering that the thread is about 2+2's response to your post. It kind

That's the most bizarre thing I've ever seen in a forum. It's true. Not only does it seem that you have been banned but every post you have ever made at 2plus2 has been deleted. Kevmath just posted this: "It should be noted that the thread about 2+2 and charities in ATF was nuked as the person who started the thread has vanished." Behind every great police state stands a control freak.
-
2+2 needs to give its members a lot more credit. A member posting a link to a podcast which discusses a charity is by no means the same as 2+2 endorsing that charity. Obviously anyone who listens to the podcast is going to use their own judgement in deciding if that charity is something to which they want to contribute. 2+2 could only conceivably be criticized if they overtly promoted some shady charity. That simply wasn't the case here. If 2+2 were to receive compaints about the charity or have some other reason to believe the charity isn't above board then they should delete the post. Ot

To be honest I don't have the negative feelings toward Mason Malmuth that DN and other folks in this thread have. MM and I have disagreed but he has always been polite and reasonable. I also believe that he would have come around in the DN ban episode if he hadn't been campaigned privately against doing so. As for PP I'm in total agreement. He and the other moderators seem to speak often as one voice; and that voice is too often from Goofyville. I wish for one day 2+2 would let the rest of us read the moderators' thread so we can see what really makes 2+2 tick.

They absolutely need to get rid of the "kook moderator" ProfessionalPoker. His reasonings are just plain bizarre. Recently he was harassing me in the forums and sending me insulting pm's just for the sport of it. I suspect it was for my open criticism of him during the ridiculous DN ban. It's the only previous contact I had ever had with him. I had to contact Mason Malmuth to get him to stop. The problem is that MM will never get rid of PP because PP is the guy that sells the 2+2 books creating revenue for the site.

Us District Court Judge Rules Poker Is A Game Of Skill
Cruz replied to FCP Bob's topic in General Poker Forum
With a ruling like that, the DOJ might be less willing to put the UIGEA to the test. -
Actually you're the one making an ignorant statement. My post in no way excused the people at FullTilt for what they did. I refused to put money in FullTilt because I saw the site as trouble long before BlackFriday. Remember that BlackFriday happened because $100 million was stolen in transit to players from the sites. How much of that money has the DOJ recovered and returned to players? The DOJ is riding the high horse of consumer protectionism when in fact they couldn't care less about the consumers. If you would take the time to learn to read, it would go a long way in preventing yourself f

My theory is that Mike Sexton pummeled Sam Trickett for showing up to the game in surfing attire. Tricket made up the 6 guys for street cred.
-
TrueI don't think we should forget that the DOJ stumbled onto the FullTilt financial debacle and that FT's finances had nothing to do with BlackFriday. The DOJ is acting like it is protecting consumers from a ponzi scheme when in fact the DOJ played a part in reaming those consumers.

What Daniel Needs To Do To Stop Sucking At The Wsop
Cruz replied to thecompleteunknown's topic in General Poker Forum
A guy once punched me for my own good. Still haven't been able to wrap my head around the reasoning though. You conclude that just because Daniel didn't talk a lot in a game that wasn't televised, that the real DN is actually unsocial? And then you presume to tell DN how to play poker, I assume on the basis that you knocked him out of what sounds like a freeroll years ago? Seems like the weed is pretty potent where you live.If I send you an autographed hat, will that make you feel better? -
PokerStars very actively searches out players who circumvent the restrictions and freezes their accounts. Currently the Merge network is your best bet. It's no PokerStars but it is a decent enough place to play.

Online Poker Could Make A Comeback...
Cruz replied to robert_lamantia's topic in General Poker Forum
Under other circumstances I might think that it is better than nothing also. But the California legislation is being used to block any future federal legislation from ever entering California. Worse than that, California players represent almost 40% of the online players in the US. Once those players are out of circulation federal legislation becomes less necessary and less likely.I've listened to COPA for a long time. They speak as if California players literally belong to them whether or not those online players have ever stepped one foot into a casino. They have no intention of ever sharing -
Online Poker Could Make A Comeback...
Cruz replied to robert_lamantia's topic in General Poker Forum
The California legislation is a disaster. The casinos represented by COPA wrote it to benefit the casinos not the poker players. It creates an Iron Curtain around California which is unlike other state bills being considered. The bill makes it an actual crime to play poker at any site outside of California. It actually puts a new crime in the books. They want to pass the Califonia legislation as an Urgency Measure which will immediately criminalize online poker for ALL California residents. No California site will be allowed to go online until 2014. That makes for a hell of a long blackout peri -
I think that number 4 was a little questionable but for sure not worthy of a ban considering the nature of the thread. Who banned you?I've given the moderators a lot of well deserved grief on a few occasions. There was one topic were they came out in force at me both in the forums and through private messages. Although I know that they were dying to ban me they just couldn't find a good enough reason. Although one mod decided to punish me by refusing to speak to me which was more like sending me to Disneyland.I think that the idea that you shouldn't rebel against authority is silly. With autho

Mike Sexton comes from Indiana and has a background as a salesman where a certain attire is seen as proper. I come from California where the way Mike Sexton dresses is seen as a bit hokey. But I don't tell him how to dress. He shouldn't tell me how to dress. If I were to ever play at a table against Mike Sexton, I would show up in a bathrobe just to throw his game off.
-
I don't see how someone dresses has anything to do with poker. For me poker is about diversity and freedom. If one person wants to wear shorts and sandals and another wants to wear a suit, that's more than fine with me.

Any plans on training those birds to do the Weekly Rant?

I play mostly limit, and I can tell you from experience that short handed limit is a vicious and bloody game that just by watching can lead to dementia.By the way, is there anywhere that we can see a replay of the game?
-
I don't know what is in the New Jersey legislation but I would highly recommend that anyone who is going to support state legislation look into the details before simply supporting it because it legalizes poker. In California there is pending legislation that is trying to be passed as an Urgency Bill. In other words the bill would go into effect immediately. Great!!!...Right?...Wrong!What goes into effect immediately would be making it an actual crime for California players to play on offshore sites like Merge. But because the state wants to give the California sites time to create their sites

He was streaming his games live. Even though he covered his cards, he often said what his cards were during the course of the hand and also announced what his intended actions were. He obviously can't do that. It's strictly against the rules to discuss your hand during the course of a hand especially over any electronic media. Banning him was kind of a no-brainer. Also I wouldn't put such faith in regulation. The assumption that regulators will be there for the players is just that, an assumption. How well the regulators do their job in all likelihood is going to largely be measured by how man

First of all I have to give NoahSD a lot of credit for taking the time to give such a complete response. As far as Michael Minkoff goes though I think that he is over his head as a moderator. He just doesn't seem to be able to think things out. During the Great Spam Debate it was claimed, by Minkoff, that Daniel Negreanu was expecting special treatment when DN in fact was only asking for rational treatment. I think that it is actually Minkoff who has been getting the special treatment as a result of his a long time friendship and association with Malmuth and Sklansky. His banhammer should have

I play on Carbon but I think that RPM probably has the best promotions. The Poker Affiliate Solutions site keeps an eye on the time it takes to cash out. They have monthly reports.http://www.pokeraffiliatesolutions.com/pok...-industry-news/You can't use an ipad on Merge. It's been so long since I played on PokerStars, it seems like a dream.

The problem at 2+2 is that Malmuth lets the inmates run the assylum. The many moderators that are legends in their own mind over there, too often make it a dysfuntional environment. Some people need to live in a world of petty black and white rules to feel comfortable. Free thinkers are always going to be a threat to them. Before the whole Negreanu ban circus happened I had never even heard of Michael Minkoff (aka. BanHammer). After the QuadJacks interview, Minkoff sent me a pm explaining his position. I tried to reason with him. It was exasperating. It was as if he couldn't hear a word I had s
