Don't raise limpers with this hand from the SB preflop at these limits, ever. Unless you make it 15-20x the big blind your getting called. Just call and if you hit your ace you'll get the guys stack regardless of wether you build the pot a little bit preflop.

OMG I've been running like absolute shit for the last 3 weeks, capped of by tonights session. In 1250 hands I had the following distribution of hand:AA - 10 timesAK - 12 timesAQ - 20 timesKK - 6 timesQQ - 3 timesJJ - 5 timesAll that at 6 max and some how managed to lose money! Looking over hands I don't think I'm playing bad, but damn this is starting to mess with my head.

Preflop is a little loose since this is going to be a hard hand to play from OOP. But, given that the button raiser and two of the three limpers have stacks of over 100bb and since its such a small raise I don't really mind it.I'm going to take a different stance instead of check raising the flop. I'd probably donk lead for around $2-2.5 and hope some raises. I have no problem getting it all in on this flop and I think this lines gives us the best chance of that. It also takes care of the problem of what to do if we check raise, get flat called, and miss the turn. Another reason to donk l

And here I thought I was the only one who did stuff like this. One of my biggest leaks is doing stupid things against short stacks. Cause, their short, if I'm wrong, oh well, its only 30-40 bb's not 100. Flop is sketchy, I admit I probably want to call for a min bet, cause theres short stacks involved and that leads me to do dumb things. As well as my other leak of calling min bets with about ATC's, cause their min bets. Not being in the hand though, 4 people are in the pot in front of us, even if we have the best hand in no way are we the favorite here. Add in 2nd of 5 position wise, we

Nut Straight On 3 Flush Board
Ricer98 replied to Ricer98's topic in No Limit Texas Hold'em Cash Games
Good to know I suck at poker. I've been running so bad lately, I wanted to bet but just the thought of being raised made me check it down. Looks like I need to re-evaluate my play as well. -
River Decision With A Str8
Ricer98 replied to nomad_monad's topic in No Limit Texas Hold'em Cash Games
Okay, so I guess I didn't fully read the OP and see the last bit about his continuation bets. Either way, I'd probably still bet becuase I'm betting KQ, set of 2's or 4's, or any pair between 4's and 10's, since he checked, anyway. If I have position and am checked to, I just can't help myself with any piece of the flop. -

River Decision With A Str8
Ricer98 replied to nomad_monad's topic in No Limit Texas Hold'em Cash Games
Villian gave us a green light to take this pot away, lets go for it. If this hand gets shown down its going to open up our range when the villian tries to put us on a hand in the future. Betting here is definetly +EV, we hit our draw or induce a fold enough. Also the times we do hit the pot is allready bigger so we can value bet into a bigger pot. -
River Decision With A Str8
Ricer98 replied to nomad_monad's topic in No Limit Texas Hold'em Cash Games
We might also fold A10, QJ, J10, pairs 55-QQ, ect, ect, ect. Villians range is pretty wide at 6 max. Point is it doesn't matter what we might get a fold out of. He showed weakness and we have outs if we get called, I bet this flop all day long. -
OMG I love donks. This hand as it is about the funniest thing I've seen at a poker table in a long while. Problem is if you only limp small pairs from EP your telling observant opponents your hand. If I pick up that your only limping or mostly only limping weak hands from EP I'm pretty much going to start raising any two suited and isolating you in pots.
-
Do you make this bet with AA, KK, flopped set? If not betting weak with a weak hand is a bad idea. Your telling your opponents you have a weak hand. If you are making this bet with strong hands all you are doing is not getting enough value from your big hands and inviting middle pair to draw out on you.On the river you need to make a big bet to get a fold. As I said your line doesn't make sense for a big hands. If I'm MP2 I'm calling that weak bet with every single hand that I called the flop with. Yeah your gonna fold 44-66 with a min bet because they are playing two pair on the board w

I'd fold this preflop. Your UTG with only a pair of 3's and you don't even have a full buy in on the table if you do happen to hit. Even with a full buy in I'd still fold because I never open limp into pots, its a weak play. At the same time I don't want to raise 3's from UTG at a full table, so that leaves fold. Flop bet is horrible, make a strong lead at this flop, give people a reason the fold. I agree you might have the best hand so you need to cut down the field. If you make a strong lead and get raised its an easy easy fold. As played, fold once your raised on the flop. If your g

Suited Connectors Hit Middle Pair And Now?
Ricer98 replied to ActionFalko's topic in No Limit Texas Hold'em Cash Games
The problem I see here is the logic which resulted in how you played the handFlop: You have no reason to not like your hand. We raised preflop and hit a pair, we have no reason yet to think we don't have the best hand. Couple problems with the bolded quote, observant aggressive players might try to take you off the hand with air or a draw. Another problem with the weak lead, would you do this with a strong hand like an over pair? If this is anyway out of the ordinary your telegraphing your hand as weak. Turn: Your turn line I actually like. Its not weak passive its just simple pot cont -
This is pretty much my normal line, call against tight players and either 3 bet or fold against someone who steals a lot. Pretty much I was playing bad and got stuck so I decided to gamble with it and see a flop.
-
Definetly raise this from button. I am never going to open limp on the button, especially not a hand as strong as K10s. Villian reraising twice the size of the pot is kind of suspicious. I probably play it the same way though. Betting the flop then reraising twice the pot size is an odd line for a set or two pair in a limped pot.
-
I'm beating more than just an A high flush draw. Villians range to open the button includes so many hands that would've flopped a draw and missed. A9,K9,Q9,A5,J9 ect, ect, ect. Any club draw, not just the nut draw. I'm losing to an 8, a 6, or 77. Most players are 3 betting the flop with 77 or raising the turn so its hardley ever going to show up IMO. The only hands with a 6 that make sense are 69, or maybe 56. On top of being beat by few hands my river check tells the villian I dont' have a boat. Which means I'm giving him a green light to bluff EVERYTHING.I think I pick off a bluff he
-
Well, I don't like putting out blocker bets, I'd rather check call than bet fold all day long. Check call atleast lets us pick off a bluff. Blocking bets simply induce bluffs, atleast to observant opponents. The reason I'm unsure of this hand is because of what you stated, I will never have a boat after checking the river. Which, opens the villians betting range dramatically.

I'd check behind the turn here with the intent of calling a river bet. We have a weak hand, betting the turn after a scare card hits is just not a good idea. Unless of we are up against a total donk calling station I want to keep this pot small. As played fold to the turn raise and don't ever call this river. Putting in a 170 bb's with 2nd pair is never good.
-
Rephrase that to trip 3's or a flush draw. Are you really committing a ton of money on a KKX board with K3? Limping is border line, calling the raise, no.
-
This type of situation is entirely read dependant for me. I usually base it on the call speed on the flop. If its a real quick call its more often a draw, a nine, or maybe a pocket pair smaller than ours. If he thinks and calls it usually going to be a better hand than ours, most likely an ace with a mid to weak kicker. For a delayed call I'll usually take time myself before checking the turn then evaluate the river. Most of the time with this line I'm folding the river unless its an extremely weak bet. If its a quick call you can take a couple different routes. First would be simply fi
