Duh, I'm here right?

For real!! Who wants to be called the best player to never win a bracelet anyway. Or how about being called the nicest guy in poker. Pffft! I'd rather by a cool guy with a bad rap & bracelets(lots and lots of bracelets).
-
Quit picking Howard Lederer. He is so off his game this year. He has bigger things in the works outside of poker. And Ivey overvalued? Jigga Please!!
-
I was thinking the exact same thing!! So what did he have? Two Biznatches or cowboys?
-
Where did he go?
-
1. Ivey2. DN3. Greenstein(i bet this is a popular choice round here)4. Juanda5. Fischman(he has 10 yrs. experience in like 2-3 years, does he sleep?)honorable mention: Phil HelmuthSide Games: Chip Reese

Um, you wouldn't know his real earnings because his and other pro's cash game earnings are not public knowledge. I'm not saying he's a top ten pro, but a couple final tables a year isn't too shaby.
-
The truth lies somewhere in the middle. Let's be honest: He isn't a legend of poker, but he isn't anybody anyone on this site would like to find at their table in Main Event. He isn't a super classy guy, but he isn't a absolute jerk either. You gotta make up your mind for yourself. Would you act like that? Do you respect someone who would act like that? I would take the time to learn about him a little before judging off one taped poker event. I don't take his blog to heart either though.

Didn't anyone see Antonio Esfandiari (sp) double up the other day with 92os in the big blind on Poker Superstars. He caught a two and Carlos Mortensen didn't improve. Well, I think is was a 92? Anyway there comes a time when no matter the cards the pot odds justify a call. BTW if you double up with 8k how long until you have to double again to stay alive? I would think the extra 12k would come in handy. If you run a bunch or races, you are gonna lose one.
-
You call. Unless he has a pocket pair or shares your card you are only about a 2:1 dog.The pot is now laying you 2.5 to 1 odds. Hell, I call it. Better to double up with 14K than to double up with 8K.

I like your play. The raise may have been a little too much. It looks like Jacks or 10s to me. The kind of hand you want to get head up with badly. Nonetheless, it acheived the desired effect. I like your post flop bet(2X the pot). $8 in the pot with a vulnerable overpair, I take it down ASAP.
-
I have a feeling you are possibly beat too, but why play the hand through the turn if you are just going to fold after hitting your best hand on the river?EDIT ***Sorry--darn posting delay***
-
I wouldn't cap the flop. By doing that, you only created a reason for a flush draw to improve his pot odds to continue drawing. Well played considering he hit his second pair.

I reiterate from my 2nd post, I didn't think the re-raise pre-flop was that strong, especially if he wanted to get heads up. It was a fishy table(loose-passive) on a Friday night. Experience is the best teacher, and it looks like I was another fish in the barrel. As you can see by my whopping $12 bankroll, I was pretty successful that night. I've read this forum long enough that I know better. AQo not good to a re-raise. I know better, I know better. :hitting self on forehead: Thanks for all the input guys.

I realize I was out of position, but the preflop re-raise didn't feel like power. I know when I have QQ I want to get head up. I don't min-raise and invite the blinds to the party. My real question is: if you play tight enough to fold this pre-flop, do you still get paid off on your good hands? Are amatuer $.25/.50 NL tables astute enough to even notice how tight people are?
