  1. Figure 200 people at an average of $1700 each = $340,000. Phil problably made at least half of it, net, for one weekend. Not bad.

Yes, Florida has a 3 day recision period. I was a car dealer there.
  3. I was not the guy in the FCP shirt. And I agree with your opinion about the level of player it was best for. I really took advantage of the access to the pros. I had specific questions that I got answered and got into some fairly indepth discussions about strategy, attitude, bankroll, and practice. It was very interesting to learn how each of these pros practiced to get to their current level, and how they continue to keep their games sharp. Some of it was pretty unorthidox, but very interesting. And you are right on the mark about Phil. I don't know how that guy fits his head through the
  4. When Phil was around, the pros all ripped on him. When he wasn't around, they all agreed the he is the best NLH tournement player in the world. However, they also agreed that they'd love to get him in a cash game, where is only a little better than average.
  5. Although Phil did not do any of the seminars himself, it was awesome. Antonio Esfandiari did a seminar on being aggressive, Scott Fischman did “how to beat on line sit and go's”, and Mark Seif did one on winning NLH tournaments. The absolute best of all, the one that even all the pros attended, was by Joe Navarro, a retired FBI profiler. He is an expert in non verbal communication and he taught what real tells are. Things your body does involuntarily, that you have no control over. It was amazing. He showed us Hellmuth's tell, Gavin Smith's and Chris Ferguson's. He’s publishing a book with
  6. cardplayer has all the info http://www.cardplayer.com/tournaments/wsop_06finaltableNever heard of these guys before, but 4 of them claim to be pros.
  7. Better yet, Howard. just post your phone number on the forum. I'm sure Daniel will be the only one to call you. We promise.
  8. Isn't it 1 in 46 times 1 in 45? 46x45 =2070
  9. I know we're all tired of bad beat stories, but I gotta tell this one.Saturday at the WSOP. Bobby Willy Flops quad Aces. One of the aces on the board is the aces of clubs. It is the only club on the board. Bobby bets, opponent raises, Bobby pushes all in. Opponent calls with JK of clubs. Goes runner runner, royal flush. 2070 to 1 shot.
  10. someone once sent me the website where all the avatars of her are. anyone know what it is?
  11. I think the key is the pros know how to identify and pick up the dead money. if you can pick up the chips in every pot the other plays in the hand miss the flop on, you'll gather alot of chips.
  12. 1. If it's like the other events I've played, I wouldn't really call it a turbo. You've got time to play.2. I don't know if the Rio will have rooms available. If they do then stay there as it's convinient. The Palms is right across the street so that might be a good option.3. I don't know. I'd suspect they'd make you wear FT gear, but I have no idea how that works. If you make the final table (if its televised) all the sites will offer you $$ to wear their gear. usually its about $12,000. But I'm not sure if those late tourneys are going to be televised.4. Registration is easy when you ge
  13. They don't release how many players are in an event until all the buy ins are done. Also it's not necessary to preregister, as it won't be sold out. What is your registration question. I've play in several of the events, so maybe I can answer it.
  14. Almost every hotel has a poker room now, and they all have NL games. The nicest rooms include Wynn, Caesars, Bellagio, and the new room at Venitian (although the dealer seem to be new and make alot of mistakes) Mandalay Bay has a nice room, but small, as does the Palms.
  15. In dollars, I mean. How much money do you have to have to be considered rich?
  16. For a $2/$5 game, NL room at the Palms is soft and easy to beat.Golden nuggett has some good $100-$200 buy in tourneys. If you can afford it, play Bellagio's wed. afternoon $500 and Friday night $1000. Half the pack is tourists, the other half pros. It's fun and challenging. Also Mirage has a nice Thursday nighter for $230 with a $200 rebuy.
  17. Anyone know what the prize payots are for this heads up tourney?
  18. If James Woods and Jerry Buss are playing, then it's obviously not the top 64 players, but a mix that makes good TV.
  19. Fields are usually 70-100 players. Depending on the time of year (i.e. how many tourists are in town), it can be easier.Alot of local pros play the Wed. Because it's an afternoon tourney.

  21. First of all, if you ever tried to do that in a live game, you'd be thrown out on your butt. And you shouldn't do it online either.Second, I got into a hand once in the $3000 event at the 5 diamond at Bellagio. I had AA. Guy went all-in in front of me with JJ, floped a J and I lost. I was pissed. Ron Rose happened to be there. He said "look at it this way. the guy tried very hard to give you his chips. But he failed."Ever since, I do look at it that way. You will win most of the hands you're supposed to (odds in your favor). Be happy that bad players give you the opportunity. Finally, wh
  22. I'd like to see a study of like 10,000 live hands from a major tourney compared with 10,000 online tourney hands. Comparing percentage of pocket pairs, sets, etc.Would they be different?
  23. Just click here, and good luck!http://www.lasvegasvegas.com/poker/tournaments.php
  24. Yes, and yes. There are smaller satellites for the Orleans. And the bellagio runs 1 table satellitesfor the Friday $1000 and the wed. $500Good Luck and Have fun!
