  1. Daniel, Let me first say that I am going to vote for Obama, so we're on the same side. However, unlike you, I can fairly evaluate both sides. In your blog, you say that the Republicans started the experience issue. In fact it was Hilary that started it. For the last year, she's been says that Obama is not experienced to lead. Now she's saying he is. THAT"S politics as usual. And as far as VP picks. Do you not think it was politics that made Obama pick Biden? Now he can say "See, we have an old white guy too." Obama picked Biden to get over the experience factor and pick up votes. McCain pick Palin to pick up votes also. I support Obama, too, but call a spade a spade. They all play the same game. On the age issue, you're dead wrong. Hisotory has a long list of great leaders in business and politics in their 70's and even 80's. It's a weak argument at best. You talk about racism, and sexism, but you're practicing ageism.

  2. My friends and I estimate that Full tilt has gross revenues of $3 billion and expenses of less than $500 million. So how rich are these guys? Matasow says that if he invested in FT when asked, instead of betting on a football game, he'd be worth $100 million today. Does anybody have any real information or insight on this tiopic? Does anyone know what percentage each of the founders own?

  3. Thanks to all you guys for the good wishes but the dream was not to be. I made a bad read and ran my top pair into aces against a guy who'd been bluffing all day. I finally pushed back and this time he had a real hand. Very bad timing. I had 5 outs and missed. It was the only time my stack was at risk the entire tournament, and that was the real mistake. But I really thought it was my chance to chip up. If he folded I was at 1 million, If he called and I won, I was at 1.5 million. I think fatigue may have had something to do with my decision, and I reallly feel like I need some sleep now.It really never entered my mind that I would get busted today, so I'm pretty upset right now. Even when he flipped over AA and I was behind, I still expected to suck out. That's how sure I was that I was going to make the final table. $51,000 doesn't suck, but I was so close to the big money that I could taste it.One interesting fact. I played for 43 hours and never had pocket aces once.Anyway. I guess I'll just have to win the next one.

  4. I'm still in it. Richard Weisman. I hope I'm not the only FCP'er left.I have 696,000 which puts me 33rd out of the 337 players left.I had an very tough table yesterday. We had more chips on the table than any other with 4 of us over 500,000 when the average stack was 100,000. Also at that table were Mimi Tran, Fabrice Soulier(sp?), and Nick Binger. I ended up busting Fabrice with a rivered nut flush, and crippled Mimi right at the end of the day with another flush.Today I start at table 32, which will be the 3rd table to break, so I won't get too comfortable. I'll be 2nd in chips at the table with one guy over 1 million. I don't know any of the names, but I'm going to research them this morning. The chip leader is this italian kid Dario Minari. I've played with him twice before, and he may be the most agressive player on the planet. I'm hoping someone takes him down before I have to face him.We should play down to under 100 players today. There are 19 with under 100k in chips starting the day, and a bunch more with under 200,000. The bilinds are 3000/6000 with 1000 ante for 1 hour ,and then 4000/8000, so the short stacks will be feeling the pressure. I need to be at 2 million or more going into tomorrow.God willing, I'll get there. I've got my eye on the final table.Wish me luck.

  5. Here's some accurate information. Doyle lives in a community called Spanish Hills. Lebron bought a house in there over all star weekend. Some of his other neighbors are Vince Neal, Nick Cage, Goddard (the artist), and its rumored that Jim Carey just bought in there. The Sultan of Brunei had a house in there but sold it. I know all this because a friend lives 4 houses from Doyle.

  6. Thanks everyone for the good thoughts. I went out in 75th place, good for $7775. I never really got anything going, got a bad beat on the river, and nursed a short stack for almost 3 hours. When we got to the higher levels, the blind structure went up so fast that only a small percentage of players had enough chips to play poker. It really became a shove fest. I'm sitting with 60,000 at 2000/4000 with 500 ante, and the M's are still livable. The next level was 3000/6000 with 500, and boom, I'm really a short stack. Most tables had only 2 or 3 players who could still make a raise without going all in. Anyway, it came down to the luck of getting cards, and mine ran out. I did outlast E-Dog, so that was some consolation. The $7775 will be put to good use for more buy ins. I don't have a firm schedule for what I'll play, but if I make it deep again, I will report.

  7. OK. My name is Richard Weisman. I'm in the money on event #3. We're down to 270 players from 2998. We made the money at 2am. The average stack is 33,300. I'm sitting with 56,300. We start again at 2pm. Unfortuantely, I've got Erik Lindgren sitting directly to my left. He's hyper agressive, which I used to trap with my AA vs his bluff. That was good for almost 30,000. But I still don't like having him there. Anyway, good luck me :club:.Also, shout out to Al Smooth, who was sitting next to me at my first table. (I owe you $1 for the cocktail tip.)

  8. I was there. The biggest game in the room was 2/5 and there were no seats open. I'm guessing that if there was a bigger game, he'd be playing in it. For a while some of the big names were playing something (I dodn't see the limits) in the back, but there were no available seats there either.

  9. My guess is that he's talikng about something that Joe Navarro told him. In his seminar, (and if you pull him aside) Joe reveals tells on almost all the world class players. And yes, Joe did pick up a tell on Daniel. Since then, however, he has met with Daniel and told him about it, so maybe what Phil was watching will not happen anymore.

  10. The folowing is inside information. I cannot tell you how I know it.Harrahs current management has a contact to stay for 5 years. The group that is buying harrahs sees the WSOP as one of its most valuable assets and one of its its best opportunities for growth. Independant analysts value the WSOP brand at over $1 billion. Additionally it is a cash cow, producing in excess of $100 million in profit last year. They cannot afford to give up that cashflow.Don't expect to see it spun or sold off. Instead expect to see it grown.

  11. I learned how to do Antonio's "floating chip" trick. Its very hard and took 3 weeks of intense practice to learn. I think I'm the only one who can do it besides him. I was seated at the next table from him at the 5 diamond 2 weeks ago and showed him I could do it. He didn't seem too happy.Anyway its problaly the coolest trick you can do, if you can learn it.

  12. how did everybody get 340k?that over 21 million dollars (if my math is correct)-maybe 34k
It is that much. AOL and MYspace are sponsoring. And the put up many millions.Also. It is being aired on the I network, which used to be PAX.
  13. I played the Fiesta Al Lago $2000 tourney today. Had Tuan Le, Men the master, and Paul Darden at my table. The PPL was the main discussion. The most interesting thing is that each of the 64 player got a check for $340,000 just for participating. The format is really like a cash game where each team has a budget and must play at least $100k per week on two tables. Most money at the end of the season wins.IMHO based on the format. Team 4 is the best. Ivey, Greenstein, and banyamine alone make the team.FYI, Tuan, Men, and Paul all went out early in the tourney.

  14. Overall your plan is good, but you need more specifics. Like how much is enough bankroll to do what you want? Figure out your living expenses and how much per day and per session you need, at minimum to live. Then work backwards to your bankroll. You also need to set goals. The successful average (not big name) pros I know all set goals and have the discipline to stick to those goals. If you reach the goals consistently, then adjust. Its not rocket science, but the more specific you can be with your plan, the greater the chance that you'll achieve success. Without specifics, how can you even measure whether you're successful?

  15. I actually talked to someone who's starting a site to do exactly what you're suggesting. I also asked why? What's the point? They said it's so guys like us stop complianing that on line poker is rigged. The game will also be considerably slower.I think it's the dumbest idea I've heard in a while.
