  1. That would be incorrect, last time in Vegas played at the $500 min buy in N/L cash table at the Nugget. I am dealt KK UTG, raise it to $200 to go, folds around to the guy one off the button who goes all in. Folds to me, I turn to the dealer and tell him "My head is not being folded", I then flip them over to gauge the all in's reaction and ask him if he has them beat. Yes, a page from Doyle's SS book. The dealer said nothing, hand was not declared dead either. After a minute or so, the all in states "not folding as well" and flips over one of his, which is an A. I had a really good idea at thi
  2. I know your story is completely true, have seen quads beat quads three times in a week on PP, around two months ago. Have not played on the site much since, PP is getting to be a bit much after the last few upgrades.

  4. The bad beat jackpot at a local casino is paid out when:- Aces full of 10s or better are beat by quads or better- Both players use both hole cards (kickers don't count)As I understand it, quads over quads is the most common scenario under which the jackpot is paid out, followed by high straight-flush over low straight-flush. Somebody hits the jackpot about once ever 3 weeks or so on average, and I think the last two (in late January and mid-February) were quads-over-quads scenarios. Ballpark it at something like once every 25000 hands or so - rare, but not unheard of.Actually the bad beat mini
  5. I have played against you on PP at the 15/30 a few times. Wondered if you might be the fish in the tank on some of those occassions. Especially when you capped my flopped A high str8 bets all the way to the riv. Sadly though you sucked out the runner runner boat on me. Was it a tilt day for you, or just a moment of fish food, lol?
  6. Alright, alright............I was attempting to be ironic as well, to be a satirist if you will with the two previous post. I have been taken much too seriously on them obviously. Yes I know Phillips was being "tongue in cheek", lol. Having a bit of fun, guess I was a tad too convincing in my arguements. Ah well, I enjoyed the laugh it generated anyway.
  7. It is not all about number of hands versus live. Like I said 8 BM sessions and 1 online session. Forget people staying with crap more often and sucking out online. Take just the boards that come up online, the four flushes, four str8's, quad and boat boards, in comparison to live play. This eliminates the bad play aspect. If you have logged any sort of real time hours or in my case years of BM play you know what I am talking about. That is why I made the Paul Phillips reference, this is a very intelligent man, in reference to numbers, poker, internet. When that flop brought a flush as well as s
  8. You are correct, I have been playing live for many years, online for over two now. There is a vast difference between the two, and it is not something that can be explained away by the "seeing more hands theory".I think it all has to do with the mentality of it all. You see plays made online, that you never see live, or rarely at least. Completely ridiculous calls and raises that most will not make live. Much, much easier to be an imbecile behind a screen, than to call down huge bets live with a 3 out prayer. Let me preface the following with this, (I am not stating that the sites are rigged).
  9. I agree QJs is worth a flop for 1 maybe twice the BB pre flop raise. Flop is right you end up breaking some people. As stated though, if you are going to play it post flop hard when a J or Q flop, then you may want to not play it. This hand was meant to be played after flop for str8, flush, or FH reasons. The kicker either way is really not strong enough to play a top pair flop, strong and push with it. Too many come in with KJ, KQ, AQ, AJ, and break ya off then.
  10. This is the truth, believe it or not, matters not to me. 45 hrs, left up $2,500 for the session.
  11. The Golden Nugget downtown across from Binion's is the best. $125 buy in NL, no rebuy sng's all day long. Take about 90 mins to play, pays top three and no paper. Room is also next to pool and smoke free. Binions is smoke out city and they paper ya, which is total bs.
  12. Yep. If you saw the WPT last night, Hoyt Corkins is a good example. He hit a set of sevens, bet right out just like he always does and won a huge pot.Been around poker a long time, must admit though have never heard of "FPS" Anyone care to elaborate?
  13. Actually the correct play here, would be to fold. One as many have already denoted, too many hands you are the dog, never want to double up the short with marginal cards. Secondly, and even more importantly, with four remaining and three paying, everyone is tighter. It is actually beneficial to you, as the big stack to keep the bubble bug alive. You give up one BB, so what. You have not already made a play at the pot. As the big stack, you then can continue to pick up blinds and ante's. Everyone thinks that it is damaging to your "image" if you don't defend your BB. Not correct, if I am there
  14. Whazzzz up wid dis????? I have been known to sit down at the table on a Friday evening after work, and leave the casino on Sunday morning. Have done it three times with the following results up 1500, 2600, 1300.Not bad for a weekends time, no dugs of any sort either. Well a chit load of caffeine was mixed in there, other than that though nothing. This makes me a degenerate how?
  15. Tek is correct, the Nugget's new card room is excellent, played there this past WSOP. It is located right next to the pool, so bring your trunks as well, you get an hour and a half leeway each time you leave the table. That way you can play all you want and when a break is needed, go next door and enjoy some sun and water action for an hour, then return to the tables refreshed and ready to roll. The 500 min buy in NL game at the Nugget was quite lively, lots of action, pots regularly 200 to 1K plus. The guy who helped Binion for years with the WSOP is also there. He has $125 STT buy in tourneys
  16. One of the worst, would be the following, because I not only got one guy, but a total of three. At the casino in a 10/20 limit game in the sb. Cards are dealt, by the time it gets to me it's capped. I look down and see I have 2 8 . I sit and think about it for a second, and decide I am suited, with the capping I put the other three on big cards, figure I can call to see flop, and if I get my little ones, it could be a huge pot for me.Well, flop comes J 2 8, I bet out, the three others not only call, they cap it. By now I am thinking, whoops have gotten into a hornets nest here, I called th
  17. Jay,You played it exactly right actually, if you were shooting for the win and not just making the money list. If you put him on second pair, and your all in puts him essentially all in as well, with the draw you had, it was an excellent play. You're correct as well, he NEVER should have made the call, with second pair. Your all in says draw, but it also says, I have QQ, and now that a A has not hit to bail out the ace rag caller that you are. I see the draws on the board and I have the over pair, it's time to shut you down, so either way, he is a small dog to your draw, or a huge dog to your
  18. Both of those number sets are good fox. Run with it.....I played in the WSOP last time around and plan on being there this year as well. If I win a seat that is as I did last time. Am thinking about going even if I do not. The tables are filled all week, with fish wanting to play N/L, just like in the WSOP that is in town. Made just a few thousand that week....
  19. LMAO........................You truly do not get it do you? Did you hear that? It was the complex concept zooming over your head like a 747 landing at La Guardia Intl. When I am a 75% favorite in a hand, I am getting my chips in. It's not about bravado or foolishness. It is ALL ABOUT MAKING MONEY, trust me I donate to charities not people. Oh btw, I know exactly how many dollars I am up for the past year. It is quite a few K, and I play as a side thing, not my main source of income. Yes, I would enjoy playing you HU, would be very profitable for me.
  20. You have just shown your true colors oh W/T one. You have not the courage within, nor the conviction of your game, to make reads and trust in your abilities. Therefore, you will only get froggy with the nuts, which will not make you any money, most of the time. Because if you have the nuts, most have much of nothing or less and give little action. You must learn to have courage oh timid fellow and step your game up, to the point of making reads that are correct and trusting in them. Any old fool can just sit and wait for the nut hands to appear once every three hours and then push it all in. Ju
  21. You completely missed the point here oh dense one. I knew he had AA, just by his play. Ummmmmm for novices like you, it's called making a "read". I went all in because I knew he did not have a set, which with that flop was all that could beat me at this point.
  22. Smash,Have you a clue man, after flop I am a 74% fav to win the hand. So no I am not stupid, nor do I suck at N/L. Think as you like and please keep calling my flopped 2 pairs with your perceived over pair. The I have Aces, I own the world fish of this world make me money all the time. Definition of fish: Player who will not lay down top pair, just because it's A's. He played it pre flop badly and compounded it even more by calling the all in. Said he thought I had KQ.........lol
  23. Ya know your name should be smashmouth instead. I read through all of the replies, you have done nothing but constantly deride anyone whom has "dared" disagree with your post. I not once questioned your intelligence or now, obviously lack thereof. I but replied to your thoughts, and in a very clear and concise fashion posted a scenerio for you to respond too. Of which I know was quite easy to understand.I did this to illustrate my point, about being anything but weak/tight. I found myself in just such a situation one night. I "put" him on the AA by his play, and went all in over him, in an at
