  1. I edited some stuff in after I hit send
  2. there are indeed a lot of people that would be glad to take this job, but they don't have the CCNA/A+ training and years of experience. my leverage is that it'd cost them a lot more than $9 for an IT assistant, and that person would take significantly longer to get acquainted with their system. and of course, no more teller coverage in the interim, and you have to worry about trusting that person with unfettered access to all your applications, servers, data, etc.skillset. as far as the nuts and bolts of IT, it's a million tiny things that are fairly routine to me that would trip up the ran
  3. I am eating an oreo blizzard. I deserve it for making it through the day without flipping out on someone.I finally emailed my boss and asked him what he thinks I should make and whether it was too soon to be asking that question. he said he would bring it up in their next meeting, whenever that is.so, they're not even going to have a face to face talk with me about it. I feel like I could definitely argue my case, and despite the shitty economy, I probably have a little bit of leverage I could apply.
  4. I actually think it's a waste of time to try.I was looking at DRYS with my brother over the weekend. it's up like 13% today. stock picking is so gay.
  5. generally for trading jobs you want to be all, "HAHA, CAPITALISM"
  6. hmm. you do know who I am, right? he nails obama pretty often.NOT THAT I THINK HE'S ON THE LEFT OR ANYTHING
  7. quoting someone on reddit:Nhl.com wrote, "The crowd became animated every time Gomez touched the puck, just as they did the previous day in Montreal's 3-0 loss to Washington, and small pockets of the sellout crowd of 21,273 took to singing him Happy Birthday at various points in the game."
  8. the title of this thread is pure win. so overly hostile and angry and rude. can't stop laughing at how mad he was. I may bump this a few times in the future.
  9. can you imagine if this was real life. ron would have totally burned bridges with a few people today. people are so sensitive and weak-witted.
  10. forgive me for maybe not parsing this correctly, but my response is: if normal people gave a fuck about the way we've been edging toward fascism, bush wouldn't have gotten a second term, and obama would be universally reviled right now. alas, partisan bickering is too large a distraction for the average person.
  11. yeah, pretty much.part of one of my psych classes had a study on depression, which is where this info is coming from.
  12. I can't make money off of what I little know, so I feel like I might as well not know it. it will make life easier if I ever take the 7 or whatever, but my chances of getting a job that requires that license seem remote.established people say, "just start trading, you've gotta learn your lessons at some point." compared to the pros and the systems they use, I'm a monkey playing with sticks and feces. exercise is big. also, having a job brought my mood up considerably--having a reason to get out of the house. omega-3 and sunlight also supposedly helpful. but exercise is the biggest one.
  13. for accounts with a certain amount of money, make the token mandatory and require a phone call to re-enable the account after a password reset.I'm not an expert, but this sounds pretty reasonable as I'm typing it.
  14. nopehttp://www.totalwine.com/eng/Store-Locatorlooks like they're only interested in coastdwelling fgts
  15. stealing from black people. the irony. I have. it was interesting to see how these things are done. I was surprised with the cleverness of it--starting the beer at a high point and gradually allowing it to flow through the brewing and bottling process via gravity.
  16. bit of inside info on the boulevard choc ale. apparently it's a huge bitch to make, clogs up equipment or something. I bet they're not too unhappy that one of their wildly overpriced beers got super popular nonetheless.
  17. I'm gonna pretend I knew raleigh was in nc.2-3 day classes for SAS run like $1500 from what I saw. I could learn it for free (steal the software and some ebooks, run it all on a virtual machine for safety) if I wanted, but again, if employers have stupid-high expectations, what's the point? you use firefox?http://userscripts.org/scripts/show/68072greasemonkey can be got here:https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/greasemonkey/they're cash-positive but it looks frail to me. a corp with most of its money tied up in assets that are quickly losing value paired with a sub-1 current ratio.
  18. wasn't speaking to applying there specifically. their software is pretty widely used. yeah that'd be fantastic except virginia is a downgrade.
  19. yeahhhhhh I let go of financials too soon
  20. what's wrong with an index fund? I guess I'm just burned out on caring about what stocks do on a daily basis.
  21. anyone know anything about SAS, or the possibility that it could get me into an analyst job without work experience?I've seen listings that include it, but usually it's like "we also want you to have four years experience" which, I'm sure they can get it right now, but lol.
  22. have you tried smoking during interviews
  23. sometimes I miss the popupsyeah, customer service
