  1. The advice that's been posted for this hand has been terrible. Opening with AJo here is very, very standard. I wouldn't have changed a thing aside from the size of the opener, which is a minor quibble (I would've made it 5x bb). C-betting this fold would've been horrendous. You're spewing money if you're c-betting into three players; doing that on a regular basis is a gigantic leak. OP, this hand is fine.
  2. Wow, this has turned into one of the more advanced discussions in a while. Keep it up.
  3. My standard raise pf is 4 times the big blind + 1x for every limper, but a 5x open doesn't really bother me, especially if it's a table full of people who have shown a willingness to call with a lot of hands. Not really that big of a deal. I would bet the turn again. There's no reason to think that we're beat here.
  4. There's no flush draw possible, guys. But yes, it is a call.
  5. It's a pretty easy no. You're not going to be called by much that beats you and a better hand is rarely going to fold.
  6. I would've bet more on the flop and would've c/f the turn. The river is a fold.
  7. I forgot to ask this in my original post, but doesn't being 200 bb deep change our situation compared to being 100 bb? If I were 100 bb deep, this is an easy 3-bet on the flop in my opinion. But since both villain and I started off with effective stacks of 200 bb, wouldn't a 3-bet put us in a sticky situation? Sure, sometimes villain will fold, but what happens if villain calls or raises? Assume villain calls a 3-bet of $18. We'd be left with a stack of $30 and the pot would be $40 on the turn. We can't be happy with how we're faring villain's potential holdings here (moreso in the situation v
  8. Villain is 45/10/2 and is a calling station. I'm running at 24/22/9, and my table image is probably one of a spewy LAG (I've had to fold to a lot of heat on the flop/not been hitting much). The table isn't giving me much credit.Ultimate Bet No-Limit Hold'em, $.25 BB (6 handed) Ultimate-Bet Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: FlopTurnRiver)SB ($38.07)Hero ($50.42)UTG ($3.38)MP ($24.90)CO ($68.28)Button ($29.77)Preflop: Hero is BB with A, A. 9. Oops, didn't see that the turn card was an ace. I'd c/c the turn with intents of c/c the river.
  10. Preflop is standard. Automatic. I'm doing this like 90% of the time. Man, that flop is tough. I'm not sure. My sense is that this is a pair+OESD, but it very well could be two pair or a weak king. Or just a straight draw. I'd come up with a likely range and crunch the numbers through pokerstove, and do what the numbers tell me.
  11. Hey everyone... hope the holidays have treated everyone well. I decided to jump back into poker today after a month or two off (fall semester was really tough) and am not sure if I played these two hands correctly. I'm pretty rusty, so take it easy on me, lol.Ultimate Bet No-Limit Hold'em, $.25 BB (6 handed) Ultimate Bet Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: FCP)Button ($32.10)SB ($19.50)BB ($14.14)UTG ($22)MP ($24.65)Hero ($59.81)Preflop: Hero is CO with J , K . 2 folds, Hero raises to $1, Button calls $1, 2 folds.Flop: ($2.35) 9 , J , 7 (2 players)Hero bets $2, Button raises
  12. I'd hate it, but I would dump this, to be honest.
  13. Although all these pros you cite are definitely accomplished players, none of them (save Fergeson, albeit limited) have experience playing the lower stake online games. Opening 4x the big blind's definitely better than 2.5x, for value more than anything.
  14. Call? Really? This is such an easy shove at these stakes.
  15. Only two plausible hands beat you here: Q10 and 33's. Just stick it in.
  16. lol I haven't seen this particular episode, but if this is what happened, that'd be hysterical. Would Patrik really float OOP with AJ? I'm thinking Patrik has a lower set.
  17. Your river bet is so weak that a competent opponent will come over the top with ATC. The river is such a good card to represent and you really opened the door of opportunity for him there.
  18. I would've bet the turn. This is HU: you're way ahead of most of his range here. I would've bet more on the river, somewhere between $8-10, with the intent of folding to a c/r. I think you left too much money on the table.
  19. Instafold. People with these stats aren't messing around when they 4-bet.
  20. His aggression factor is so low that I'd dump this here.
