  1. Who would you like to see in season 4Chip ReeseHe's herald as the best player of all-time, I want to see his skills in action. Though it brings an interesting thought, can the worlds best, perform at peak level with a hole cam? I really think the players play different with us watching.John JuandaI herald Mr. Juanda as one of the best. I'm extremely biased but it almost comes as though he'll win if he wants to. We really didnt get to see much of Juanda in season 2, I would really, really like to see Juanda play. Motivation is a powerful thing, and I really think he's one of the few people i
  2. It was already stated, but you realize he was marking the cards right?Take an old deck, and a toothpick and then realize the immoral things that can happen. Its life, but it was all a ploy.
  3. You stated you have extensive notes on opponent playing just about anything on the button, and you do sound like you are having trouble with him taking your plays away. So, I think you are looking for a hand that holds up well vs anything. And that would be a live hand. You are wanting to get money in where you can represent strength but have outs in case he's still stubborn(like you predict). So after all my babbling, and to be honest taking advantage of being a late guesser, I think you are on the ole Mr. Negreanu specialty, back door airball. backdoor straight, and flush draw. 4d 2dWell
  4. why is it funny to make 5 per hand? That's the dealers job. Its a job with no task other then to make sure the game is going as it should. A tip is a gift. period. It's not a necessity. it doesnt matter if they have a million dollars or 100.00 bucks at a 1/2 NL game.If you cant' understand that, then seek medical attention. If you cant handle the fact you are sitting in front of so much money, guess what, find a different occupation. See if you can find another occupation where you make 150 per hour and you dont have to strain a muscle.
  5. No, see you are using a term out of context. A "donkey" is someone that gets their money into the middle in horrible shape, sometimes upgraded to bad shape, but with the goal of winning.Somebody that rebuys, just to go through the motion of playing cards, actually sucks out and then folds, well there is no term used for that. Those are simply the people that dont deserve to play. And why you ever continue to play, is beyond me. This would be like Shaq shooting a high arching free throw, running to the basket, and tipping the ball away thru the basket, b/c he doesnt want to make one(not tha
  6. I'm advocating that you dont have to get all the money in on the flop. I'm not trying to say you dont go broke, or you dont get as much money in the pot as possible. You have said it yourselves. at these stakes the opponent has pretty much defined his had as AA KK QQ. on a Q 9 4 uncoordinated flop, if you are leading into a preflop re-raiser, and then re-raising on the flop with 99, that's pretty much the only hand you would do that with(or 44). That is highly exploitable. for all the times the opponent doesnt have QQ, you dont need to make your stand on the flop, its going in anyway(at th
  7. So you are only getting as much money in the pot as possible when you have a set? You realize how exploitable that is?I now know why hundreds of players have become millionaires at this game...
  8. Im not saying you can lay it down, but by approaching the hand in a different way, you can sacrifice a small amount of max value for defining of a hand. ABC poker, you did nothing wrong whatsoever.Say you check to the raisor on the flop? He took the lead, he made a rather large reraise preflop. and at these limits its very often AA, KK, QQ, AK, AQ. You check the flop, you said it was rainbow, most of the time he is going to lead out(of course), but depending on the opponent, and fancy play syndrome, you may be able to track a pattern in an opponent at low stakes. I've seen players that che
  9. Weird plays in this spot, often come with weird hands. Im not saying you fold. but I can see 54h, 98h, 84h, making this weird min raise on the turn that threw you off. even an Ah10c, for example. It's definitely a tough spot. its just a judgement play. if he does this with a hand you can beat, he will do it again and again and again.
  10. I have read, re-read, analyzed everything over and over from both sides(that I know about). So, my conclusion is only based on the information provided to the public. What was Ram expecting Mr. Ivey to shoot? It seems his scores are consistent with his ability. I've concluded that Ram thought he had a signifigant edge on particular said course, that's why he continued to play(if he thought things werent right). But that's just me reaching. Reaching, for a way to make Ram's side on this be of pure-hearted innocence. But, the fact of the matter, the pill that is hard to swallow, is that is n
  11. How's anyone suppose to come take your money, I mean play with you, if we dont know what table you're at or your id?
  12. Benjamin, the max buyin at .02/05 and .05/.10 are the same soley b/c PS is letting you buy-in for 200 BB at the .02/.05 level. I'm making an educated guess that this is for rake reasons. More money in front of you, more willingness to put it into the center. When you move up, just buy-in for a standard 5.00(100 BB). Only time I would consider deviated from this is if during your research of a good table for selection, you see a player with a big stack say 30-40.00, and you know you'll get paid off due to hands you railed while researching. Then I would be more then happy to put 10.00(200 BB
  13. Why railing Greg Raymer one evening someone asked him how many events he was playing? His answer, "I plan on playing in everyone. Unless I'm in a previous one while one is still running. Hopefully, that happens alot"My picksJulian GardnerJohn D'AgostinoPhil Laak
  14. Im at both tables, let's see what FCP has to offer.
  15. I personally think the way you played was the best way. considering your reputation, I think you played it pretty close to how you would have played a variety of hands. That's why I like it so much. you put all of the thinking in Brian's court. Your hand range is very wide there. say a J10d, 108d, or even 1010, 88, etc.So, in setting up possible future sessions, I think this was a brilliant play.
  16. I predict a minimal drop, if at all. The big sites are still giving out plenty of seats and numerous ways to qualify. It's also been four years since Moneymakers win and 5 since Varkonyi's. For the average aspiring player, this is a reasonable amount of time to acquire 10,000. (remember the average joe cares not about bankroll, life, management). Many casinos that originally didnt, from my research, are putting together satellites to the ME. Poker Leagues are also at an all-time high.Basically, the people that normally would have tried qualifying on the little to no name sites are just goi
  17. What about the 18 times prior to this one sitting you won with KK?What about the 6 times prior to this you flopped a set vs someones big pair?what about the 2 times prior to this your AK outflopped KK?Are you playing homerun pre-flop poker? Are you playing min raise let 18 players into a hand poker?I think you are putting to much emphasis on the hand rather then the situation. Play winning poker, your results will be positive. You just have to let it all go, ride the tide, because when it hits shore, you are raking in a motherload of chips, the next wave comes, minimize the loss, in comes the
  18. I see this as more then a cosmetic change. Maybe I'm over analyzing the situation, but in my mind this will greatly affect the play of the main event. Let me explain:In a past Main Event, donkyfishjoe attempts to still the blinds while they are first level 25 - 50 raising to 200-250 range with a K8 offsuit. Daniel Negreanu in the big blind tries to tell joe that this wont fly and repops to say 550-625 with JJ. Well, even though donkyfishjoe hasnt a clue what he's doing, he's more likely to avoid a tango and move on to the next hand. I say this because in his mind, small amount of chips. do
  19. You have some points, the points that I agree with our playing on Full Tilt. It just seems like the levels of games there would get him motivated, and it would feel "real". for instance the 1000/2000 Limit HORSE Jen, Eli, Patrik, Benyamine, Seems like this type of game has Daniel all over it.But, he's stated his game is revolved around his capacious ability to read someone and that it is very difficult online. With the television on in the back ground, the dog licking your toes, and just going on a betting pattern read, it just doesnt feel real to him. I respect that.
  20. You have to have a base to start from before you can put any kind of information like this to use.If John Fish Doe when comfortable and not in a hand leans a little to the left with his hands relaxed in front of him, then when he has a hand he likes leans to the right with his fingers crisscrossed together, that means something. If he raises before the flop and his left eye starts twitching, then the flop comes J 7 6 and he starts biting his lip, that means something. but enough babble. you have to find a neutral. just like in science when you test something, you have your constant, say water
  21. In the spirit of this being a great community, Im going to attempt to fix your brain. Most would say let the aquarium clean and regulate itself, but I will break the unwritten code of poker(dont educate the fishies). To cut right to the chase, Here is a hand ranking, hopefully you will figure it out on your own, what concept you are failing to grasp. 23456 is lower then A2378, do you see why? 5 cards lower 6 and lower is lower then 3 cards under a 7.A2345A2346A2356A2456A345623456A2347A2357A2457A345723457A2367A246723467A2567A356723567A456724567Are you grasping the ranking yet? Now how you put t
  22. I think the sicker thing is that there was an all in, two calls, you repop with AK and still get stragglers behind you.Just how bad is the average joe at poker?
  23. This is all ridiculous to me. It's the inner-greed of the human coming out, nothing to do with the "job" of being a dealer. It's a persons job, well-being, to deal phucking cards. If they have a problem in the amount of money won on the cards they deal, find a new job. The house already took a more then reasonable chunk out of the prize pool for the WSOP staff. But to here people are at the casino and the floorman is stopping action to let it be known to the masses the staff got "stiffed" is completely asinine.A tip is a tip. You're happy if you get it, but you dont make a scene if you don't.
  24. I dont think the expected drop is going to be as bad as anticipated. Ebb and flow. More super satellites, more people finding plan B's to enter the main event. Jamie Gold is going to have a mini Moneymaker effect. Nowhere near the same degree, but I foreshadow enough to cancel out the online perils. People that want to participate, that have reasonable means, will find a way. Full Tilt mentioned , they will just pay the winners the cash, I believe. Also Bar League Poker is booming across the nation. My estimation, 8105.Book it.
  25. Listen, you really need to stop summing up an icon's entire career by what you see edited on television. You are seeing special circumstances in special situations on your television. Television poker isn't the end all, be all, determining factor in what makes a player. Take the time to learn the game. If you were an aspiring basketball player, im sure you would know key statistics and highlights of Michael Jordan, Magic Johnson, etc., If you were an aspiring director, im sure you would have a keen grasp on the many icons in the movie world's style. What makes this particular interest, poker,
