  1. that's how i felt when i played pokerhost for the first time...I absolutely hated the site, but they had a 110% bonus . So i deposit $100 through instacash, but only $93 shows up in my account, b/c they're the only site ive encountered that's decided they'll offer instacash, but won't pay the 7% fee neteller charges. so needless to say i was pissed off from the start. then the bonus was given back in incredibly so increments, there were never any players on, they had the loudest and most annoying sounds...but i made like $600 on the NL games there in 3 weeks b/c everyone was terrible. But it w
  2. I had never played a poker hand in my life until the week after the patriots beat the Panthers in the super bowl...During the super bowl i started drinking at like noon, had a party in my apartment, went way too crazy and ended up kicking 4 holes in the apartment when the panthers had tied the game, really felt like a donk after the Pats came back and won it. Ended up breaking my foot on a metal socket in one of my walls. anyways...went to this kids apartment the next weekend, with my foot in a cast, and played poker for the first time live, i had like $2 in a NL game they were playing and rea
  3. hmm you got paid off, so i cant argue with it :-) as far as tells, i think it really depends on what you're playing and who you're playing with, i play a lot of games with 17-20 year olds just playing b/c they think they're good, and like someone mentioned earlier, the tells of looking at chips after the turn/river and fidgeting are probably the biggest ones among novices. Just read Caro's book and you'll be all set.I think it would be interesting to have a "foot cam" at a lot of tables. personally that's something i do that I'm trying to work on, my upper body i got under control but as a fi
  4. isnt that a little aggressive w/quads on the flop?
  5. lost KK to AQ when he flat called w/ace high to the river to catch an ace, i woulda had 60k...then i couldnt get any action on rockets twice, ended up goin out on a flush when other guy had the nuts, i coulda folded but ive been tilting for a good 20 minutes and didnt feel like playing a short stack...oh well
  6. Down to 23 ppl, I'm chip leader right now, just entering the 2nd break...competition was pretty easy, i didnt get a real hand for the first 90 minutes and survived, then one guy gave me all his chips on a semi-bluff...just lost a few chips JJ to an ace on the flop, but I would love to win this, havent won a tourney in god knows how long
  7. have you seen the time clock? Each player has 60 seconds to make a decision, whether it be preflop, flop, turn, river. When the clock gets to 30 seconds, it starts beeping. Then the floor announcer announces to everyone when theres 15 seconds left, then counts down the last 5 seconds. If you dont make a decision by the end of the minute, the whole table flashes red and you're "in the dead zone." and you automatically fold.Time is not extended while players or the dealer count the chips, so if your dealer sucks and doesnt count the chips correctly, you can waste half the time trying to replay
  8. yea, i cant wait to hear approximately 6000 beeps as that awesome clock counts down decisions for a million dollars that WPT decided should be made in under a minute...
  9. i mean, the other way to do it is pay out 100 or 200, but only give them $1 each, which greatly dilutes the rest of the prize pool for the people who play 9 hours to win it...i like it much better this way. i dont give a shit about playing for 6 hours, finishing 100th, and winning $4.50 for an hourly rate of what some nike employee in india makes
  10. I'm in, i played in the one over the weekend, but i got moved to a table where 7 of the 10 players where away, so it was 3 handed with everyone trying to get the blinds. I was just aggressive and eventually got busted, it just wasnt that fun.i started on RVP like 2 years ago, its not a bad site, there used to be mostly euro's on the site, which led to some different playing styles. not sure of the crowd there lately...gl in the freeroll, these things are a grind...
  11. i do love harringtons short stack strategy, works wonders when your M is 4 to 7 and big stacks just call with shitty cards...easy to pick up pots. this might turn into one of those where i just feel like id rather make 40 bucks than lose 30...we'll see
  12. ughim sitting around 18k, short stack goes all in for 1500 or so, guy behind him just calls, i got jj, i just call.flop comes 10-8-6, other guy bets 3k, i raise to 7500, he goes all in ,only another 2900 to me, so i feel i gotta call, flips over kings, and the short stack ends up catchin a flush to win that pot...picked up aces the next hand and went all in trying to play the role of the on-tilt guy, no one calls, down to 7k now, about 2500 below average.that ****in smooth call...i dont see how i ever fold if he doesnt raise w/the kings.edit:: i guess w/more time i prolly woulda folded instead
  13. for all my fantasy team names i always just look at stuff in my room and pick a name for it, just so happened to have a box of theraflu sitting in front of me when i made my first poker account, and Theraflu was created...on UB im pagodayea though, unfortunately
  14. we're into the antes now, which is why i love UB tourneys...so many easy pots out there. my table still has an assload of chips, but everyone is just takin it slow so far. under 90 nowgl to you too
  15. 4 outta top 6 people are at my table, im in 3rd...115 ppl left, i need this table to get broken up, so many chips...
  16. I feel the same was as Royal_Tour...it just seems like with a one or two rushes then cashing is a shoo-in, but then that one drawout or bad beat happens and 3 hours is wasted. The other thing that sucks is you're guarenteed at least 2 hours of play no matter what MTT it is, just playing a solid game and waitin to double up once or twice. after the 2 hours is over it really depends on cards and the table you're at, being next to a chip leader right after the 2nd break always sucks.i finished 31 when top 20 pay in a MTT on UB yesterday, lost my trip 10's w/a king to the BB who had 10-4 and caugh
  17. Noo these arent the good players, they're the players with money. One of my friends said he checked his bosses partypoker account at work and saw $5000 worth of deposits and no cashouts, and they guy didnt care at all. People like him get lucky for an hour or two in these tourneys and end up much farther than they should be. I call it the Moneymaker theory.
  18. Last night i was playing in the $50 rebuy tourney on absolute, 11k guarenteed. Only 83 people entered, but there were 83 rebuys and there was also a double add-on, the prize pool ended up just over 11k, final 9 paid out and it was $390 for 9th. Admittedly i wasn't planning on adding on or rebuying, already a poor decision to play, but tourneys have been a strong suit lately. Anyways, i was quiet through the first 45 minutes at my table because it was so loose, doubled up twice, and by the 2nd break we were down to about 40 people and i was right around average. My cards throughout the whole t
  19. I played this one, i think i won 3 hands in 45 minutes, my table was really loose and I was just lookin to double up, ended up just frustrated and pissed away my last 400 chips.
