next....whats your limit for calling to learn somethin about another player? i just got lucky caught trip 2's on the river after someone raised w/89 suited and i held on to my bottom pair. i had him beat the whole way, but do you ever pay off some of your chips to learn how somone else plays? ive found most people tend to stick to generic betting patterns that their conscious mind doenst control, so learning a betting pattern can be valuable, albeit moreso in a cash game than in a tourney.

another question i have...when its folded around to the button, personally i hate raising from the button b/c it looks so much like a steal. I've seen the "cutoff is the new button" posts, and i already raise way too much if im first to act from anywhere, but i digress...if its folded around to you on the button, and you have a marginal hand, whats your percentage for raising/calling? i hate calling with marginal hands b/c i tend to fold to most blind raises, but i hate raising for the same reason. but i'm also never folding...

i appreciate the advice, but this play is a constant for me...in the context of 70 chips, its definately not worth it, but i'm not calling any raise of any sort right there either. it obviously goes against your "save every last chip" mentality, but i've never played with 2500 to start so i got extras i understand what you're saying, ive played in a good amount of UB tourneys (usually 10-40 buy in) and definately agree with the waiting and double up philosophy.
