I read a few responses, and I'll just throw in my pennies with the crazy weird math I use.I'm going with Seattle. Big game for them. How many times they get to the Superbowl in the past? Like never? That's a hungry team. Now I will give it up for the Steelers. In fact the main reason they have been my big money making pick all season is the exact reason why I can't pick them here. They made an awesome showing throughout the season in the last big game they played (ironically correalating with the last Winter Olympics year, four years ago) and the team has always been solid. Pittsburgh is

can’t win on the net, but win in brick & mortar?

Old Mexico brought up something right away that I was thinking of as I read your post. What do you think are the key elements out of place (or differing elements, might be a better term) that you find in online play (apart from speculation of bots, collusion, etc...) that you don't find in the B & M's?I know when I go play live, I'm setting time out to go. I am focused on the players, paying attention to small talk, paying attention to chip stacks and how the table flow is oriented and shifting (tight field to low, vice versa) and all of that stuff. In contrast the conard of playing online -
Really, the only time I do a continuation bet is when I feel that this opponent of mine has a limit to what he will call (that is when I've hit nothing). Sometimes there are people that will fold to a big bet or an over the top bet, most that I have come across with lately will call all the way down just to fold on the river. The reason for that bet, I assume, is to make an opponent fold either when they should or (most times) when they shouldn't. I mean, not for nothing, but you see a guy across from you begin to muck out of turn and pull his cards back as he realizes it is not his turn, the

most fun playing online poker ever...

it's people like you that make me turn off my chat even at tables where I've held no animosity to at least one of the other players....you're a tool. -
yeah, I don't really think you can just describe a couple of hands where you very easily could have lost (because you didn't have the nutz for either board hi or lo) but did win and then declare the game a gold mine. This is a difficult enough game to play in a limit or PL structure because of those variances. And I garuntee if you continue to play those hands the same way your gonna get bit in the ass eventually. Just in drawing to the nutz and the nutz only you can still get hit pretty bad, but because you are gonna hit those nut draws once in a while it will not sting as bad.Typically, mos

Well that is the prob with no limit, you can be made to put it all on the line at anytime, and if the tall stacks aren't afraid to lean they are gonna chew up your bank roll. Personally, I would not have made that call. I would have made that big bet on the flop. Anyone is calling from behind. You could have taken a $300 pot there by betting 0ut the pot. And this is why they say, good tournie players are bad cash game players and vice versa.

When I went to Vegas last year, I got to experience some games live that I had only been able to play online previously. I became a big fan of the 2/4 Kill pot game at Mandelay, and even though I got stuck for like $200 in the 1/2 NL ring game, I enjoyed it immensely. Regularly though, for the casinos in the midwest, the one I play live here most frequently is 2/4 or 4/8 Stud. However, all house games are presently NLHE tournie style. I'm trying to convince some of the regulars to get a dealer call game going, if not just a straight up cash game, but so far no luck.

Absolutely no idea. but I would like to know.

Well, I mean, I wouldn't kick her out of bed or anything...

I don't know, your flop bet and turn check has you representing the flush, however the river bet still seems suspicious to me. I'm thinking that the UTG will at the very least call, with a starting hand of something like AK, if he doesn't raise. See the problem is, he is free to check the turn if he made a hand or is still on a draw, say, AT or heavens forbid Kx suited to the spades( a lame hand to open with a bet preflop, so I'm still leaning towards AK AQ) . But you can't know. I'm gonna have a hard time calling if he raises on his river action, but you shouldn't be surprised if your Ja

I think these are examples of what one would label a metro-sexual. I've often heard that term used, but until now, had no idea what it meant. Gay? Kinda gay? Inclined to the likeness of abject gay-itude?What ever, these guys fit the bill.Might I add, how did you happen to find these specimens of uh, um, gayness? Fair to say you obviously hold no truck with these, er, men. But being the case, how did they end up on your 'puter screen so that you could razz them infront of the collected genius of this site?

To the above poster I would ask, how do you expect to be good at poker if your not going to use the knowledge that everyone is able to use but ignores. Say sitting at a table where your neighbor is showing his cards every time he looks at them, or if everyone has an opportunity to realize that the one semi-bent card in the deck is a 9 ? You want a level playing field, but you aren't gonna disregard a slight edge are you? Wanna play every hand straight up, well that's your option but this is also a game where your supposed to be observing things to use to your advantage, i.e. a card player

My favorite was always, "Box of Rain."I think I went through something similar just totally different. Did High School a year early, went into the trades because it was something I loved, brother died, decided to leave the small town of small talk and little risk to finally go to college at 22. Went through the rotations and did very well, but I find myself now, years later with naught but an expensive piece of paper and solid work credentials. I often think how much easier it would have been if I had just stayed in that small t0wn. I would have no debt, I would undoubtedly be a senior man
