  2. I'm pretty sure I've told this one before, but one time (I guess I was dreaming about poker, dont know) I woke up with to my alarm clock and threw my arm across the bed and tapped the snooze button and said "check". My wife told me she was taking away my computer after that one .lol

  5. Could you quit bringing that up please??????????????Calling my all-in set on the flop with a king high flush draw, puhhhleeeassseee , you call that poker???????I'm not bitter though
  6. LOL I love the concept! Just kinda missing the whole paramater of being a limerick with the "go" and "boat" thing, but anytime a lady says nuts two times in 5 lines and ends with not wearing any underwear its a good poem in my book.
  7. string bet is just a term for an inproper raise when someone calls then tries to raise. You should always announce your raise (assuming live game). Some people will just kinda call and try to see a tell or something from the other player then go ahead and put their raise in. This is really an illegal bet and not only will you usually not be able to make the bet you will have a bunch of pissed off people staring at you (especially the person you called/raised).
  8. I really only play small limit tournies and small ring tables and even at that my rakes is sometimes $3 or $4 a day so if you multplied that out over say 25 poker days thats $75 - $100 so defintely a net rake savings for me even at the terribly low limits.I still dont know what to think about Dutch Boyd. I have certainly read about his previous business disaster and he is selling stakes of himself to WSOP events on ebay, here is one thats going on right now ... http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...ssPageName=WDVWI have a tough time putting my money and trust into a guy who asks the ma

  11. i made the mistake of doing well in a MTT last night and was playing until 2:30 AM and had to get up at 6:00 AM for work. BTW fellow forum member SQUIRRELBONE was down deep in the money too! This exact thing your talking about kept happening and frustrating the hell out of me.Anytime a small stack pushes and its up to a large stack you "WANT" them to call and sometimes expect them to call however when they call with rags or call and lose it just pisses you off cause another person is doubled up and you have to hang around with an extra person for longer. There is a great example in Harrington
  12. 45 Minutes to Memphis where theres Beale street if you like good Jazz/Blues and ofcourse Graceland if your into Elvis. Little over 3 hours to Nashville (where I am) and lots to do here.Other then that if you dont like casinos or gambling going to Tunica is pretty much useless. Its ashame this is the closest casino to me.
  13. I just read that and was coming to comment, you beat me to it. Just awesome!
  14. Im halfway through Harringtons book and it is by far the best poker book I've read. It is very relative to me cause I mainly play NL Tournies. Definitely worth the $29.95
  15. After my horrible defeat last night in the Negreanu Open Main event about 20 minutes into the event I got to thinking of a poll question and curious as to what everyone thinks ....If your playing in a MTT (whether it be 70 people like the Negreanu or 2000 people doesnt matter). Would you rather bust out early or bust out on the bubble or close to it? I would be curious to hear 'reasons'. I can't think of any legitimate reasons as to "choosing" to bust out 2 or 3 hours in and get the same money ($0) as if you busted out in the first 5 minutes other then maybe 'fun' or 'experience'. I rememb
  16. Attention Forum ModeratorI dont appreciate posts where I am unknowingly linked to hot nude photos of a gorgeous woman. If you do something about this I am going to have a problem.
  17. "3:4572 left. Two complete unknowns are the chip leaders Men Nguyen and Daniel Negreanu. "Thats funny lol

  19. First of all congratulations x3000gtx! I agree 100% with what Ecylpse, you obviously have a good poker game. People are going to strongly disagree with this next statement and by every book I have ever read what I am about to say is false, but it was true for me. My very first live tournament was last year at the Imperial Palace. I cant remember the exact details, but it was a rebuy with addon and about 50 people, around $50 buyin. I ended up placing 2nd and took a nice prize home cause there were several rebuys and nearly everyone added on. The one main thing I remember about my first
  20. GEEEEEESUS. Teach you to slow play 4 Aces!!! Amazing hand.On the 2nd hand I just cant imagine living in a world where I could call $10,000 with middle pair top kicker and a nut flush draw.
  21. Obviously you are not privy to the powers of the SIK
  22. Awesome! I couldnt get off work this week to drive down. Just 3 hours away from several poker players I would love to meet. DANGIT! Thanks for sharing.I had a similiar experience when I met Gene Simmons here in Nashville, Kiss has been my favorite band for EVER and my wife and I have seen them in concert over a dozen times. He did a book signing here and I was almost afraid to meet him cause I had this 'image' that I didnt want destroyed. Gene met every thing I expected and more. He took pictures with me with my own camera, autographed several things, and even called my wife (who was a
