  1. more chip information than you will ever need:chiptalk.netthey have group buys of high end chips (ASM, Paulson, etc) that get discounted prices. the overall concensus is that is you are going to spend the $$ to get a really nice set you should get samples of all the contenders first. that's what i did and it worked out great.i have a set of the Paulson James Bond (new style) chips and I love them. a buddy of mine is in on the current ASM group buy. can't wait to see them.good luck
  2. i wouldn't say they are EXTREMEY cheap rates, but you can get s discount. just call the hotel and ask to speak to the poker room. tell them you are interested in the poker room rate. they will tell you exactly what the discount rate is and what you have to do to get it. i think they will actually book the room for you, too.usually you have to play somewhere between 6-8 hours PER DAY to get the discount rate.hope this helps. have a good time.
  3. i have in Omaha.i flopped quad 4's and got beat by quad 7's on the river.flop: 4 4 3turn: 7river: 7i ranked it up there with.. umm.. the suck.
  4. i shuffle all the time too. i work at a computer all day and i shuffle there, too. i am pretty sure it annoys most of my coworkers, but noone has said anything yet so i don't care.my girlfriend has told me that it lulls her to sleep when i am pplaying online in the next room after she goes to bed. haha.
  5. the national heads up championship is at the golden nugget starting march 4th. i will be out there that weekend and am planning on stopping by. should be a good time.anyone else going to go check it out?http://www.headsuppokerchamp.net

    best movies ever

fight cluboffice spacesecret windowthe pistol (pete maravich movie)many many others .. i am lazy
  7. on the table: cribbage, yahtzee, chess, 31on the puter: UT 2004 and some other FPS games
  8. i have had fairly good results paying attention to how they put their bets in. if the stacks fall over and they make sure they fix them and stack them all pretty they tend to be weak. if they just throw the chips in all willy-nilly they tend to be stronger. i have used this mostly in my home game and i would say at least half of the people have proven this.i also like the breathing/breath holding tell.

    how old are you?

turned 28 last thursday. started playing poker exactly one year ago on my birthday.
  10. it didn't take 15 minutes. they aired the proposal piece (i didn't even have to do any work ) then the film crew barged into the house and we were on TV for an interview about 15 minutes later.i actually heard about the whole thing on the local radio station later in the day.. ha.
  11. i proposed to my girlfriend on the local news to get my 15 minutes of fame.. does that make me famous :)hahahwarning, i sound like a total tool.. it was 6:30 am..http://blogyou.krankster.com/2004/12/and-h...here-we-go.html
  12. i am actually doing a mixed tourney (one, maybe two tables) next week. we are going to play:pot limit omahapot limit hold empot limit omaha 8pot limit crazy pineapplewe plan on changing games every two times around the table. we should be able to get at least 2 trips of each game per blind level.i run into the same issues as most of you guys. there are only maybe 6 or 7 guys that will play a mixed game, the rest only want "TV poker".. haha.. good luck with your game, MSR.q
  13. i plan on saying "i'm all in" or "i call" instead of "i do" when i get married...heck, i might try NOT to and it will probably slip out :)q
  14. i think it will be close on a 5.5' table but it will work. i built a 42" x 8' table that works well for up to 8-9 people. my dining room table is 42" x 6' and we usually put no more than 6 on it without extending it. of course we like lots of elbow room.when i built my table i did a ton of research on how much space each player needed. i found out that commonly they recommended something like 30+" per person (use the google). so for 6 people you would want ~180" of total "edge space".as for dealing, it is impossible for people on the ends of hold em tables to deal, so we make the 4 people
  15. i dream about poker all the time. it ranges from replaying hands in my dream to playing in places that i have never even heard of with people i have never even seen. it's amazing how the mind can build this complex scenario and it can seem so real. q
