  1. Actually, I expected the WPT stuff for sure, but what really surprised me was the, "I guess we aren't friends" comment. Following that, he seemed offended that I thought the play three handed was weak in my blog. At one point I couldn't tell if he was joking or if he was really insecure about his play or with his friendship with me. It could have gotten really weird, but I think it all worked out. When he asked me to tell him what I thiought were mistakes heads up, I seriously couldn't remember any of it! It wasn't that important to me to remember so long after, but I remember after watching it feeling like the play wasn't great.
He seemed ultra defensive about his heads up play. It was a little strange. I think he was totally kidding about the "friends" thing, but was serious about being concerned that you didn't like his play. You floundered there a little bit too, Daniel, not your best interview. :PRay
  2. The chicken sandwich and coke are way +ev. Still, I would have bet the chili for value. I think you left one on the table there. Please use a hand converter next time. Nh though.
I'm on a diet you meanies. Stop talking about Yummy Wendy Chicken Sandwiches and Cokes. :(Ray
  3. Unfortunately FCP is 90 percent flame posts, 5 percent thread jacking and maybe 5 percent substance. I find it worthwhile to read/ watch the blog and peruse a few posts. Otherwise, it's just the same old typical (so-called "witty") BS. Just a fact.
Honestly, no. General fits that mold. To quote other people's response to OP "try actually looking in the strategy forums."If you're trying to say General is the majority of posts, so the numbers match, still wrong. One thread in Off Topic probably has more posts than General. :)Ray
  4. Your statements are 99.99% correct. The truth is a hard pill to swallow at times.
But.. its not. Its not a hard pill for anyone to swallow. I think if you read this thread you'll see tons of people agreeing that 2+2 has better strategy. I don't think anyone is in denial here. I just don't appreciate people who make posts whining about leaving because they found something better. It's very much a "jilted girlfriend" attitude I must admit. Basically OP "dumped" us, and did it in a nonflattering way. "I found someone new, more experienced, and hotter. I'm leaving you." Its insulting. Its a blow to the ego, especially for the people who spend a lot of time here trying to make this forum some place they want to be, and want other people to be comfortable being. Not to mention totally unnecessary. Do you think if OP stopped posting we would send out a search party? "OMFG, OP has not posted recently. I wonder what has happened! Let's hunt him down and find out!"No, the post was nothing but self important posturing with veiled insults towards the forum as a whole. If you think people are ragging on OP because "the truth is a hard pill to swallow," you're not understanding the people here correctly.Ray

  6. If all you have made is 2k, i dont understand why you would invest. Do you plan on quitting poker? Never moving up? If not then invest in your roll so that one day you can make an investment worthwhile.
2K is not bad for an investment.Yeah, I assume he's not intending to move up, or obviously bankroll building is an excellent answer as well.Ray
  7. You must have missed the part where I said I am not totally leaving. ReRead.
No no, I read it right. You're already posting a lot more than "from time to time," unless you meant "from minute to minute."I'm sure I'm coming off as a jerk, but so does your entire post. It reeks of arrogant self importance. None of us care that you are leaving. We all know just fine that 2+2 has better strategy sections. Duh. I hear they published a book or two that people like. A large number of us post there as well, or pocket fives, or keller's site, or neverwin, or lord knows where else.People hang out on FCP because the are fans of Daniel, or they like the other people here on the forums, and the community they have built up together while being here. Your entire post is meant to do nothing but garner attention, and is doing it in a negative way ("I found a better forum so I'm leaving you guys!"), so I'm giving it to you. Not my fault its not the kind of attention you wanted.Ray

  9. <rant>On the other hand, I find it ironic that I'd be willing to pay taxes to a government for making money at something which they believe I should be prohibited from doing.</rant>
Its easier than trying to explain why your bank account has four $5K deposits in under 24 hrs. Trust me on this one.Ray
  10. I'm just curious, but has anyone noticed that in terms of poker content and contributions from tons of players that actually know what they are talking about, twoplustwo pretty much pwns this forum. I definitely still like coming here, mostly because I am a fan of Daniel and his blog, but I definitely think I am going to cut down on it because for the most part it is a waste of time. It seems that instead of feeling the need to contribute solid poker input to conversations, most posters just want to say the most witty thing they can think of that rarely has anything to do with the original topic. Coming to this site is like hanging out with the friend that you don't really like that much but hang with anyway just because he throws good parties. He is probably a bad influence on you, won't really help you at all, but its good entertainment value. In the end, this forum is pretty much a waste of anyones time who actually wants to improve their game. Its been fun, and I'm sure I will post from time to time, but for the most part....good bye.
    Spam?Ray
  11. Serious Answer:I put the maximum I could into an investment account set up by my Accountant, tax free.I bought a pool with the rest, which I will have to pay taxes on.If you have a "real job" like I do, and don't want to turn pro, investing is the best possible plan. Ray
