2/4 Nl Max Buy $400... What Was Done Wrong?
Peak01 replied to Cheppa's topic in No Limit Texas Hold'em Cash Games
KK hand: I think it was a very weak lay down. He bets $300 into a $1000 pot? That doesn't seem weak to you? You need to raise that up. You haven't done anything to find out if he has a Q but stare at him and expose your hand. Raising gets you the information you need. AQ hand: I don't think this is a mistake. If I am doing the math right you only have about $600 more left when he fires $300 at you. That's an easy move in my book and if he has a 4 then I just say "nice hand" and go home and take it out on my wife (kidding of course). -
Weak Turn Fold With A Flopped Set?
Peak01 replied to delasoul's topic in No Limit Texas Hold'em Cash Games
Even if you knew their cards it's still worth at least a call on the turn. your are getting 3 to 1 and with the implied odds I think you get it if you hit at these stakes. You only need to get $17 more if you hit to make this worth it. Factor in that you don't know the cards they have and all the possible holdings that you beat this makes for an easy call or shove. They could be playing AQ, AK, A10, QJ, 10J, J9, 109, Q10 and the case 9Q. -
Were you looking to C/R the flop? Not a bad play if so. Did the spade scare you on the turn is that why you checked? I don't think you can put him on a flush with the Ace of spades already being out there. As played I would raise more on the turn. Then bet 3/4 pot on the river.

Weak Turn Fold With A Flopped Set?
Peak01 replied to delasoul's topic in No Limit Texas Hold'em Cash Games
I am not folding here. I think you are looking A10, AQ or even AK here more than KJ. I would put it all-in here. We still have 10 outs if we are in fact behind here. -
Even more reason I call this.

Fair enough. I didn't consider all the factors. Folding would be very weak here. Any reason we have two King of spades in the deck..... -
Welcome to No Limit!4 buy-in downswings are common. When you get to 10 buy-ins then start looking harder.

As played I call (would fold preflop) but I think this might be a leak in my game and might be a fold. Curious what others do here. Of the possible holdings I think it is really close. Anyone do pokerstove on this?

1/2 NL (9 handed). Multi-tabling so no reads and also the reason I couldn't find the hand history.UTG+1 $150CO $200Hero BB $200Preflop: UTG+1 calls, CO Calls, SB folds, Hero checks (Pot $7)Flop: 8h 6s 9sHero bets $7, UTG+1 raises $20, CO reraises $48, Hero shoves all-in.....Anyone slow down on this hand and wait to see what turn card is before risking rest of stack? We have 2nd nuts but with 20 cards that can hurt me just wondering if I wait one card since I doesn't appear I have much fold equity.

I Made A Deceptive 3rd Nut Straight On The River.
Peak01 replied to Dratj's topic in No Limit Texas Hold'em Cash Games
I think you are beat but you have to call. 5 8 and 10 8 have you. Both would of stayed in this long. Especially if they had a flush draw as well. Should of got rid of it earlier. -
Flush Draw With Lots Of Betting
Peak01 replied to No_Neck's topic in No Limit Texas Hold'em Cash Games
I think you let it go on the flop action. Once you hit your flush though you have to call but I bet your are against a higher flush. -
I had this same situation yesterday with QQ on 1/2 NL with a 8 3 2 rainbow board and ended up getting it all-in on the flop. I ran into KK so I hope you had better results. After thinking about the hand I think I made a mistake though. I think you re-raise and if he pops it again then you give it up. I keep hearing that damn saying in my head "Don't go broke with a queen in your hand"

Frisky W/ Measly Pair Of 6s (2/3)
Peak01 replied to CobaltBlue's topic in No Limit Texas Hold'em Cash Games
Let it go. -
I play it the same way. I am either getting a nice pot or getting stacked on that hand.
-
I think you played it fine. I would shove here as well even though I know one of the donkeys played KQ or QJ on me. Similar hand happened to me a little while back when I had KK in a 5/10 live game. guy called my big raise with QJ and flopped two pair on me. Nothing you can do but RELOAD!

I bet again. Probably around 3/4 pot this time.
-
I think it is really read dependent. He raised enough that it could be enough to get the first two limpers out but if you feel they will call then you need to pop it again to around $60 to isolate. If he shoves after a reraise then call if you lost the first two limpers.
-
Give me your reasoning for the raise here Acid. I haven't had my coffee yet so maybe I am missing something but I personally don't like it because I don't think I get called enough by worse hands to make up for the times I get called or reraised by a better hand. I just check behind here on the river.

Playing Oop Against A Tpp Opponent
Peak01 replied to Wheel619's topic in No Limit Texas Hold'em Cash Games
As played fold it. With that many seeing the flop I doubt two pair is good here. -
Give it up and hope for a free show down which you might get if he doesn't have hearts.
-
Just give it up. There is a flush possible now as well.

Since We Are On The Topic Of Kk Preflop.......

I think you really should fold in this situation but of course my finger would spazz here and click the call button leaving me staring at the screen wondering where it all went wrong.
