A Tv Mtt Hand, But I'm Curious Your Thoughts
Merby replied to Royal_Tour's topic in No Limit Texas Hold'em Cash Games
I love that hand and knew immediately which one it was without clicking the link. Both players correctly doubted the bets/raises of their opposing number, but Ivey was the only one to follow through with the all in. If Jackson had true conviction, his 4-bet should have been an all in, if not, he should have folded. At that point in the hand (after Ivey's 3-bet), any value hand will just be shoving, so Jackson needs to commit at that point. If he can't buck up and shove then he needs to fold. -
I don't mind the river play as you can get value from missed draws that choose to bluff, but I pretty much hate every other street (fold PF, bet more on flop and turn).

This last sentence, having been read three times by me, conveys its content in no less an indirect manner upon subsequent readings than it did on my first reading; a text less obfuscated, I have not in recent memory encountered.

I think they're just hedging their bets...

I really like how he went out of the way to tell us that this information was proven.

You missed the most interesting point (highlighted in red). FCP should reconsider its policy in allowing free stake threads to be posted. You might consider yourselves the target of a civil suit when one of your members sues FCP for (up to) hundreds of dollars in lost stake revenue.

And yeah, sharkscope is only not allowed while the client is open.I wonder if the OP will have his Stars account suspended for openly admitting to the security department that he accessed prohibited websites to evaluate the playing styles of his micro-stakes short-stacking opponents...[ ] Smart move IMO

Based on your response, I decided to quickly recalculate it to see how accurate it was.It turns out my original estimate was a little low. My monthly nut was ~$2400. Once I added in the monthly equivalent for some annual expenses, the number ballooned to ~$2750.
-
I am so jealous of people here who have a monthly nut of ~$600. My monthly nut is over 3 times that amount.

Assuming the OP called, IPITS.I can't flat in this spot because CO only has 20xBB at the start of the hand. Once the SB 3-bets to 9.5xBB, the CO is either shoving or folding. Since both are short stacks (20xBB and 50xBB), I am 4-betting with the intention of snapping a shove. In fact, come to think of it, I will just open-shove for my 4-bet.

Congrats Theresa!

I disagree. The villain will rarely fold these hands to a river donk bet (Especially the JJ ). Your hand is a bluff catcher, but has showdown value. You are costing yourself money by bluffing this river, as you are just getting his bluffing range to fold and are still getting looked up by everything that beats you.

3 Bet Pot Picked Up Big Draw On Turn

Yeah, I missed that -- For some reason, I thought the villain had exactly one PSB left. I probably glanced at his original stack size versus the river pot size when I made the comment. -

Every time I try this, I get a converter error and get nothing but a bunch of shit spewing back at me. Thoughts? I don't know whether or not I should be asking the feral poker guys about the converter error, or accusing the LHE guys for flinging poo at me... -
It's so good, he gets a roll-over into December.

It's fun to win with 8-high, but as Royal pointed out, you really need to be shoving that river. The rest of the hand looks fine to me. -
Keep one in a large fish tank and claim that you thought it was a dogfish...After all:kind of looks like:As an added bonus, the "2 dog problem" should take care of itself in ~3 minutes if you go through with my advice...

This. You get so much value from the worse 2 pair, top pair hands. With the villain only having 1/2 a PSB remaining, there is no tough decision here. You only need to have the best hand 50% of the time when he calls to make this shove profitable.
-
Value-shove river.Rest of the hand looks fine to me too.EDIT: I probably bet larger on the flop and turn...

Comparing 100nl Online To 200nl At A Casino

What happens when the table opens and the first player buys in for $100? Do they have to shut the table down and hope the next time, the first person buys in for at least $200? -

3 Bet Pot Picked Up Big Draw On Turn

That is why I am betting this turn. That is also why I said to just overbet shove here (it's important to note that I play my 2 pair+ hands like this too). He is too shallow to break the bet out amongst the turn and river, so I just shove here to maximize FE with my big draw.We have 13 outs against a set and 14 or 15 outs against AA/KK (depending on whether or not he has a spade), so we're 31:13 ~ 2.5:1 against beating the set and 30:14 or 29:15 ~ 2:1 against beating AA or KK, so our hand is much better than a "4-1 dog."When we are deeper, this hand plays a lot differently. That is true, but we still need to raise more on the turn to give us a chance of stacking him on the river. -
So Confused By A Bad Micro Stakes Hand On My Part
Merby replied to rrumsey's topic in No Limit Texas Hold'em Cash Games
I like the PF call. Depending on the villain, I sometimes 4-bet for value and insta-snap-call a shove (if I 4-bet this hand, I NEVER fold to a shove, so I am only 4-betting when I know the villain will likely spazz 5-bet light). On the flop, I am betting here ~80% of the time (to around 60% pot). Sometimes I check back to go for 2 streets of value from mid pairs.I like raising for value on the turn. The min-donk-bet is 98% BS.As played, I am calling this river 20000% of the time. -

OMG! I strongly disagree with all the advice given so far.We have Q-high with a monster draw, but it's still just Q-high. We have to bet again. If we had a hand like middle pair with turned OESD/FD, then we could think about checking back because we have showdown value if we don't improve. In this hand, our hand is garbage if the river bricks, but our hand still has good equity, so let's bet here to set up the river shove. The pot is $28 and the villain has $41 remaining. I like a turn shove here.If the villain had a slightly deeper stack, I'd like the turn bet, followed by the river pot s
