I hate to break it to you, but 200 hours >>>>>> # of hours in your proposed challenge period.EDIT: Yeah, I went there.

If you called the river, then I like your line. Looking at the hand in a little more detail:!) PF is fine: I'm happy with a $0.40 raise ($0.50 is fine too).2) Flop looks fine.3) If you call turn then you're (at least) calling that river. Since no realistic draws got there, I also like shoving to stack his kings. When we're only ~100 BBs effective at the start of the hand, I don't stress too much about getting it all in with an over pair at this level. That being said, I am fine if you just call this river. When the villain makes a weak donk bet like he did on the turn, then I like to call w

Average win rate for 1-2 NL at the casino
Merby replied to sepslugseven's topic in No Limit Texas Hold'em Cash Games
I don't think I stressed my main point enough in the previous post, so here it is: (1) It will take FAR too long to get a statistically significant sample size (2) Even with that said, it is impossible to obtain a sample size which will give you a "true" win rate. (3) Instead of stressing over this point, just focus on making the correct decision at every moment while you are playing. (4) Invest as much off time as you can away from the felt to develop yourself as a player. Finally and possibly most importantly: (5) Set realistic goals for your poker playing self: .....(i) Are you a planni -
Average win rate for 1-2 NL at the casino

LOTS!!!When playing live, you get to see on average 25 - 30 hands per hour (depending on factors such as automatic shuffle machines, average local dealer speed, etc.) Over the long run, I'd expect the average hand per hour rate to be closer to 25 rather than 30 when playing at your average 1/2 NLHE table. Thanks to poker tracker and HEM, we know it is possible to run (significantly) good or bad for 100,000 hand stretches. This translates into 3300 - 4000 hours of live play. Personally, I have played ~1550 hours of live poker (mainly on weekends) since I started taking detailed statistics ba -
Average win rate for 1-2 NL at the casino

I will post my live results when I am home and can look them up. Off the top of my head, my lifetime win rate at 1/2 is ~$15/hr, although that includes the years where I was break-even at best. Currently this year, I think my win rate is ~$60/hr, but I know that is inflated due to short term run-good. A more accurate win rate would be from Jan 2009 - present, although that is the one I don't even vaguely remember right now...As I said, I will post exact numbers when I get home. -
Loosh wins the internetz... (again).

I get that too at times, but yeah, no worries here: totally standard call. -

If you are putting in a small inducement bet on the river, then expect to get check-raised a lot and have a plan (in this case, call). If you don't like the idea of getting check-raised a lot, put in a normal size river bet for value: somewhere around $120 - $160 is fine. In this case, the villain is repping a very narrow range: some KJ and a set of 6's or A6. He also has a lot of busted draws who are spazzing against your small bet. River check-raises are generally very strong, but his line is so weird for a hand that beats you and the price is so good that you should definitely call. I

So true. Every FCPer has a "where were you when you first learned about 4BB" story to tell. It would make for interesting book to collect all these stories. Unfortunately, they all start out the same:"So I was sitting at my computer, browsing FCP when..."

(I am only referring to this topic's title and description)Actually Bob, as tournament series can often be quite frustrating, it is in no way guaranteed that May will be fun. I think a better topic description should be "May may be fun." It's not every day that you can legitimately structure sentences with back-to-back homonyms: take advantage of these rare but pleasurable experiences. I recommend changing the topic description stat.

Based on the sample size of one hand, it's pretty safe to say that 55 and 99 are both in his 4-betting range. After all, A-high is in his check-raise all in for value range on that flop. It's a tough beat, but Mappy Face probably treated this hand like a HU hand and A-high is a good hand in HU pokerz. It's pretty unlucky that you had the monster TPTK, but it's still an easy CRAI for value on that flop.
