I recently moved back from FL and all they have there is dog tracks with $2-$2. It's nice that there is a little looser structure here. I'll have to ask about the no-cap on any street when heads up thing next time I'm up there.
-
7 of the players were asian and 3 of them were friends/related. Their play was horrible though and I saw no signs of collusion. Just a lot of gamble. I've only played there 3 times but 6 bets is the cap at this room. I asked about the no cap on the river when it's heads up and the dealer said the room allows it because someone can't be "squeezed" between 2 players who may be colluding. I've yet to see anyone go above 6 bets on the river anyway when it's heads up.

I don't think they were all friends but they all definatley knew eachother (regualrs). The thing is in this structure there is normally a capped bet at 6 bets, but when you're heads up on the river there is no cap.

Just wanted to share with everyone my biggest cashout in a live ring game yesterday. I played up the HIll (Blackhawk) some $5-5 LHE for 5 hours and averaged 27.2 big blinds per hour. The game was real loose agressive and the table was very easy to read. Sat down with 40bb and never dipped below it.One thing that bugged me a little was soft play. Most of the table were regulars and if it was heads up on or after the flop, the player would flip their cards and check it down? I understand there's not much money in the pot, but I just don't get soft play. Simliar situations anyone?

Just moved back to Littleton from Jacksonville, FL. Haven't made it up the hill to blackhawk yet, just wondering if anyone knows of some clubs in the denver/littleton area.

I've been experimenting with this strat a lot in micro pot limit hold'em ($0.10/$0.10) and been having great success. I'm not sure if it's much my play (or the strat) as it is bad players. Like nomad_monad, I would like to hear from cash players experience with this. Any out there?

I've been experimenting with it a great deal lately. I've found I'm either making it deep into the tourney or busting out very early. I agree this would be an ideal strategy in a deppstack tourney. One nice thing about this experimentation is that I am learning to how to play weaker hands from different positions. I've been playing for about a year and a half and I feel I can read people very well. I started out playing very tight agressive but find the style has become boring and not very effective for me as of late. I've been finding projecting a looser image and switching gears at the right

Yeah as long as it's Kind bud and you share.......Oh yeah and if you don't mind sharing a room with my grandma in the basement.

Well put ben. This is one of the important points that I have been missing out on and one of the reasons I was put out very early last night. I did get called down twice by Queen High, but it did no good when I was rivered later twice by the calling station and a sheriff

I see very few players at this tourney with any concept of pot odds. I do seem to do better when I pay close attention to stack sizes which I have not been focusing on at the begging stages. And I see the "sick of your bullshit" call A LOT.

Great responses guys...the input is much appreciated. This style intrests me so much right now because of the structure of a weekly tournament I play in. Your starting stack is 1950, blinds start out 10-20 and jump to 20-40 in 30 min. After an hour the blinds are 50-100 and double every 20 min from there on out. I found my normal tight play in the start hasn't been able to get me very far as you have to build a fairly large stack in the first hour. I've been playing pretty loose the first hour seeing lots of flops and trying to connect. A lot of the people who play this tourney are new to the

I was listening to the rounders podcast this week when they interviewed The Grinder and they touched on the subject of small pot poker. This sounded a lot like DN's approach to the game, but they didn't go into much detail about how to implement a stragey like this. Anyone have any input on how to to apply this concept in NLH tourney's and how would that be different if applied to a cash game?
-
totally agree as I see this all the time at the $1-2 level. I like the raise on the flop for the free card but I also see a lot of donks who are extremely loose from the blinds preflop and will 3 bet with 2 pair (some even do it with just bottem pair). I would probably avoid the flop raise and just call though, but I would definately raise with the OESD on the turn. River is an easy raise as well.

Thanks, I was having a hard time picking one out till I came across this one.....OOPS!

I see this a lot at my local room where they only play $1-2LH and it totally out of line and pisses me off. I also hate when there's a douche in the 1 or 10 seat that feels the need to constantly show the dealer what he folded. Like they really give a shit anyway.

Having a little problem with my charter membership. I signed up at the beggining of Nov 2005. When I signed up on FCP to play, I used the same handle but used a diffrent email account which I think is causing confusion. Is there anyway to check this out to see if I am infact a charter member. Any input anyone has would be great. ThanksD
